*wacko* AHHHH! TLG, you're killling me. I dont like this theme. It isn't <insert that tiresome argument> or poorly built, quite the opposite really. But to me this theme and some of these sets just scream megabloks. I'm also dissapointed by the new shark mold. What's wrong with the old one? But most of all I'm dissapointed by the complete disregard of the nonviolence policy. TLG is making guys with chainsaw arms now? This isnt appropriate for kids, is it? I don't want to come home to my borther going ZZZZZZ pretending one lego guy is getting his arm chopped off by this chainsaw armed jerk. I don't even consider myself a conservative but I think we should have standards about this kind of thing. I don't know maybe I'm preaching to the wrong crowd. I hope Lego does something cool like pirates next or I'll have to switch to Stickfas. :-X X-D

Edit: Actually I took a second look and decided the designs weren't that great

I agree, it does scream megablocks, however I don't take it as a really bad thing, seeing as I've been tempted by megablocks designs and themes before, wishing lego would do something like it.

And now they have, quite well I must say.

As for the violence, I don't see that its any more than any other theme lego has done. In pirates you have cannons that can blow someones head off, swords that can chop off appendages. It may be less technological; but the violence is still there.

I don't want to get into another debate of violence - but I also cant see what imaginative violence can do wrong. I've been playing strategical wargames and invisioned violence for as long as I can remember - and I think I turned out fine. :-$

Well I agree that violence in the media has little affect on how people actually behave. I think historical violence like swords and cannons is more appropriate simply because it has little relevance in modern times and kids will find it hard to relate to. Sure its debated whether or not violence in the media translates to real violence but I was speaking in terms of how there seems to be this trend toward violence in our society lately. Just look at the movies these days. :-| This isn't helping. I must admit I don't particularly want to get into a debate either.

I bet none of these sets will be "award winners" in the catalogue. i agree with john cleese because I don't consider myself a violent person, but I guess lego realizes how desensitized our youth has become today. I mean, six year olds are playing mature rated video games, getting points for killing cops, and watching movies they should never unless they are 18. Our society is a mess. Children are not responding to death and violence as they should. I mean, I like star wars and stuff, and I know a little action is okay. Sometimes however, it does go a little too far. agents does look cool, but it is a big step. Has lego succumbed to appeal to the masses by selling more violent products? I certainly hope not!

The new agents line totally NOT on! |-/

I think our society can be sick also, but I think IF lego stays at this point it will be fine.

I don' think the theme looks THAT violent :-/

Sure it has a few guns, but the atmosphere is so wacky and campy what with cyborgs, chainsaw arms and mind control animals that it really can't be considered a "dark" theme.

How about we discuss the sets though, because I hate these violence debates |-/

I love that spycar, sure it is eight-wide, but it is so beautiful! *wub*

Well, I worry where our world is coming to. What if someone on the street spontaneously gets shot and some kid who witnesses this tragedy yells "bonus points, that was a head shot!" I am not against violent video games, movies, etc, but I think parents need to put all this violence into context. They must make their kids aware that it is okay in the game, but not in the real world.

Okay, with that rant out my system, let us look forward to a prosperous new line for lego! (I hope! X-D )

P.S Sorry batbrick, I really like this line, but sometimes I just get carried away. I mean, the violence is fine here, but i'm just trying toi say that kids are being exposed to too much violence to begin with.

Thats good :-$ Because frankly I agree with you for the most part. Mindless gore is something I personally dispise aswell. I dont disagree with any statement you have in this quote actually. ;-)

And I like you, so hey, let's not debate ;-)

Terrible. Why is that car ultra-detailed and then the helicopter in the same set has a huge <insert that tiresome argument> piece for the cockpit? The sets aren't even that inspired. As others have said, this looks just like another attempt at Alpha Team. And should this really be in Trains and Town? It it has a very limited link to those themes, even if the sets have cars and minifigs.

Let me make this clear that I do not wish to start a debate either. X-D I only wanted to make a point and I'm sorry for changing the subject. Let us return back to lego! ;-)

Lego agents really is a cool idea, and I'm looking forward to it. I actually really think the chain-saw arm man is really cool! 8-

Thats fine! I totally understand what you mean, I just like to discuss the sets themselves :-)

Now, despite the Truck's absolute clossal size, I have to admit its rather well designed, and looks very cool in the little pic that shows it all closed up. Despite the humungousness of it, I am very interested in seeing better pics of it, as I like the design and think the pic might not be doing it justice.

I highly doubt that kind of thing would happen. People know the difference between reality and video games, they aren't that stupid.

I am not against violent video games, movies, etc, but I think parents need to put all this violence into context. They must make their kids aware that it is okay in the game, but not in the real world.

They do, don't they? I mean, it's just logical.

As for this theme, I reckon TLC will come up with a nice cover story. I bet the bad guys are robots that look human, like the Terminater. (Okay, bad reference, what with the violence and all... :-P) Something like that that will provide enough excuse for the inclusion of all these weapons and what not. I still see it as a fun toy that in my opinion isn't that serious. I mean, remote control crocodiles?

Heh, this would make a nice movie. X-D

The remote control crocodiles and sharks are actually my favourite parts, I love the hilarity of them, that and the spidermen! :-D Good theory on the robots too.

I agree General Zen, despite the use of guns, I don't think this line is as violent as we have been thinking it is. Still, I will get atleast two of the tiny set, just for that awesome chainsaw peice that allows you to attach weapons! :'-)

Please guys, I really don't want this topic to be flooded and ruined with violence arguments - whether we like it or not, people have different perceptions on the issue. *wacko* Albeit I kinda fueled the fire at first aswell - and am sorry for it.

Can't we all just get along and love Lego? :-$

This topic has already moved on, I think you're a little behind! :-P X-D

Any theories on why the ATV's wheels are so low? It looks ugly and I hope the final version fixes that, but maybe it has suspension or something?

I'm disgusted and repulsed :-X :-X This new theme is pure crap!! |-/

What amazes me is all you guys like them :-D (except a few, thank goodness)

This is like another Alpha team mixed with megabloks and exo-force :-X

Even the first wave of MM were nicer than these :-|

The figs are weird and crappy, they look like some exo force and alpha team hybrid

The sets are vulgar......I can go on and on....

The only good thing is all the new interesting parts

Except that megablokish shark :-X

Did I forget to mention these are crap? :-X

Agents OFF!

For future reference? :-$

Better late than never :-D

As for the atv's wheels, it would probably be for a rubber band suspension system, seen in the very early racer lines before, or its just like this for more playability rather than realism.

It reminds me of a rock crawler, actually, it would make it much easier for this to travel over rocks and whatnot with the frame that high above.

Ok, those are bad excuses for it being rediculously high up :-$ But hey, I tried.

I atually like the atv set the best only because of that sweet fighter jet! The next best thing for me is the swamp-jungle thingawhatever. It feels good to finally get a small building in a moderately priced set. i do like the snow-mobile and that cool agent machine. They both do look good.

And thats all that counts ;-)

You alright over there Piranha? I mean, I'm ok with different opinions, but a negative (and imposing |-/ ) attitude like that really adds nothing to discussion.

Anyway, I for one love the new sharks, I don't think they look any more cartoony than the other ones. And I don't see how the shark is "megablockish", seeing as it uses the same basic lego design. I think people just use Megablocks to describeanythig thats bad, the only thing in these sets that seem megablockish to me is the concept, and this isn't a bad thing. Megablocks I'll admit have some cool theme ideas, one of them I saw was like this one, its just their sets that are most of the time bad.

I'll remain skeptical but positive of this line until we get better pics :-)

That's not really imposing, is it? He's just strongly unhappy with it. ;-)

I agree that MB has had a few good themes. I remember owning two MB sets- a Nascar set and a robot set. The Nascar set was great. It was fun to roll around and smash it into stuff. :-$ The robot didn't hold together all that well, but it had a great idea to it.

Looking at this again, I can almost garuntee that a lot of clone brands will rip this off. :-/

These are really interesting. Love the fighter jet and the spycar. I agree with everyone else that the ATV is kinda ugly, but I'm hoping that there's a feature behind it. I like these sets overall..it's another step further towards military type vehicles. And they're a nice nod and wink towards the Bond films and Austin Powers, which itself is a parody of Bond. The over-the-top sci-fi-ish characters fit perfectly within the theme, and give it levity and fun. That's what LEGO is about...fun. Batman is a dark theme as well, but I think TLC has struck a perfect balance maintaining the overall dark look of the characters and their vehicles while keeping it light enough for all ages. As far as violence goes, there aren't too many popular toys or themes out there that don't revolve around some sort of conflict involving weapons, esp guns. Gunplay is fun( I don't know why, it just is), and toy companies realized it long ago. TLC is joining the competition, but I like that there is a cartoonish quality to how it's presented. I keep hoping that we'll see LEGO's take on a transforming theme soon. And, heresy though it may be, MegaBlocks have produced some themes that caught my eye in the past. Too bad that their quality is no where near that of LEGO, as they're cheaper and do work with LEGO. But I like my models to stay together- MegaBlocks just..don't.

I was hoping that the vehicles would be a little more like M.A.S.K., where the normal looking vehicles "transform" into weapons platforms, but these look like they still have hidden features beyond what's seen on the box art( I keep looking for hinges). AT3 took a step in this direction. The AT3 Mobile Command Center was a great set, IMHO. I liked the thematic potential of AT, even if I didn't like all the sets. As an evolution of the theme, I'll give Agents the benefit of the doubt. I have no doubt already that I'll get the ATV/jet and the copter/spycar sets. Just like MM2 and Exo-Force, give this line a chance, as it may just get better. My $.02

You're right, I probably overreacted a tad there, I just meant the part where he was amazed we all like them, I know Piranha isn't exactly known for being unbiased, but I think each opinion is fair. Again, though I found it a tad annoying, I too overreacted :-)

No doubt clone brands will rip this off, I agree.

Anyway, even if this theme is a total failure, I'll still be happy just for that minifig hand connector peice and other elements.
