I don' think the theme looks THAT violent :-/

Sure it has a few guns, but the atmosphere is so wacky and campy what with cyborgs, chainsaw arms and mind control animals that it really can't be considered a "dark" theme.

How about we discuss the sets though, because I hate these violence debates |-/

I love that spycar, sure it is eight-wide, but it is so beautiful! *wub*

Batbrick is Back! >:-)

I totally agree! This theme is not any more violent than Batman or Dino Attack (or whatever that theme was called)! So back to the sets:

I love this theme! *wub* Why? Because it's Alpha Team with guns and various cyborgs as enemies! Cyborgs rule! I was waiting a long time for some official cyborg minifigs to come out, and these are great, especially Chainsaw Guy! I can already imagine some pretty badass mods on him and I'll be getting a couple of that set! Dr. Spiderlegs is alright, and Ironbite is pretty neat (I'm making those names up btw ;-) You like 'em?)! I think he is the leader of the Cyborg Brotherhood of Evil since he appears in multiple sets (and comics). Lol - He reminds me of Baron Werner

Great names, I like 'em! :-D

8630:<snip> Why the bad guys carry the gold in a trailer with a big fat target attached to an ejection mechanism, I will never understand... :-D

What is that driver's hair color? 8-|

Haha, too true. :-D I think the hair is black, like the gun, but just appears yellowy due to the lighting.

8632: looks like a decent set to get some interesting parts, like dark green crocodiles... <snip> ...it would be great if the jaw & helmet would be seperate parts, but somehow I don't think so... :-(

Ah, more dark green crocs! Excellent! I too had the exact same thoughts on the helmet. Having the jaw piece seperate could make for some awesome WH40K Orks! :-D

8633:The sharks look cool, though, way better than the old ones! Let's just hope those eyes and gills are printed... :-/

Oooh, stickered eyes and gills. :-X I didn't think of that, I guess I just didn't think TLC would stoop that low. I so hope they're printed! It'd be cool to have one of these in with the other sharks, make him look like the 'Jaws' of the bunch.

The laptop looks interesting, but I fear that it's just a Harry Potter - style book with keyboard & screen stickers in it!

Ah, clever! I was wondering what that could be. I think you're right, looking at the picture. It would make sense too, what with the folding up and all.

8635: No comments. Way out of my price range.

Same here. :-/

A "normal" Agents line similar to James Bond which goes with the Lego City theme would have been welcome - but this is - excuse me - really only waste endued with absolutely excessive action! *n*

You must not be in Lego's target age group for this product, huh? ;-) There's no such thing as "excessive action" as far as kids are concerned. That's what they want.

I'm guessing this line will do pretty well. It's got a very marketable theme.

I don't know if anyone has said it yet but the sharks look like the same old mold to me except printed. Sometimes the scale can be skewed on box art.

honestly, i wish they hadn't created this line. Some extra city sets or castle instead would have been better. At best they're parts packs if they're not too expensive.

i agree. overall this theme is like the batman theme. the vehicles are too large. I do like the superbike though. the wheels are kinda too large but should be fine once you mod it.

the car is another nice model but unfortunately too large. it's just like the speed racer cars: 8 stud wide. going to be hard to incorporate into a lego town.

the truck also looked promising but too large.

need i say that the speed boat isn't like a speed boat but rivals the width of a Black Sea Barracuda?

since it is always easy to criticize and point to faults than to to provide solutions, and I don't want to just complain and complain ...so here are my solutions/suggestions. :-P

remove the silly flicker rockets from the smaller vehicles or put fewer of them in the vehicles. get designers to train under japanese AFOLs with a knack for making small miniturized models that look beautiful.

design smaller (or shorter) flicker pins or mechanism. what i mean by smaller is that it has to match lego's proportion. think pirate's cannon and not that dildo shooter found on the plane (luckily they modified the dildo's design after the batmobile so it looks less like a dildo). seriously...while i am not against action mechanisms, the current existing ones are way too large. like the viking catapults or giant arrows...i don't see why they can't design a smaller part, like maybe in the size of the basketball MF's legs instead of those soccer MF flicker parts.

keep the shooting mechanisms on larger vehicles like trucks, airplanes, helis or jet boats but out of the smaller vehicles. the smaller vehicles (like 4 stud cars or bikes) should be used as recon vehicles or mf parts pack, not for action mechanism.

oh, and i prefer better looking agents. think black suits with raybans and hidden earpiece. right now the good guys (agents) look like boy scouts with their colorful details. nice to look at but not practical. think jellybean knights meet dino attack. i kinda like the dino attack guys. maybe they can make them into agents now. i definitely like this theme and i think if done right it can have a long shelf life. there can be city battles, jungle battles, aerial battles, sea battles, snow, even space. even mountain hideouts (like osama battles, lol).

also they can make various different agents. there's the tough rambo/martial arts type commando. the swave james bond spy. the bomb/explosive expert. the firearms expert. the medic/chemical agent (maybe with a stringe). sorry...got too carried away. i was basically leeching the chars from the pc game, commandos. and they can also make a female agent just like in that game.

i guess TLC is making cyborgs the bad guys. that's cool. i like the ironjaw guy. can definitely reuse that headpiece for customized castle MFs. like a big bad troll leader/shaman. i wonder how they make the chainsaw MF.... oh, and they don't have to keep making vehicles. they can make something similar to the western set, bandit hideout possibly in a city setting. agents storming a bad guys operation in a rundown, downtown building or something.

X-O These figs look like alpha team, :-X and the vehicles look like jack stone! *wacko*

oh, i think i got it. it's robotics. the evil guys aren't cyborgs like my initial speculation. they are robots. the agents are fighting evil scientists who made evil robots. there's robot cayman, robot sharks, robot men. maybe even a polar bear next.

the pallets look strangely like gold. i could be wrong though. they probably stole that gold from the fed reserve or something.

I don't really like these new sets at all. I like the idea but it all looks a bit mixed up and random, as some are boats, planes and a jungle set. Maybe people like that but i prefer more of a structure and either a land/sea/road theme to sets, not all of them in one.

I don't like all of this line, but it has some funny details (like the sharks with fricking laserbeams X-D ), some nice figs with new heads/hairs/bodyparts and some nice pieces. So I will maybe buy the cheapest set and some other set if it's for sale. It is not a really good line, but it has some flaws.

Because it is a own line, Tlc can make impulsesets with this line for next year , but they can also do that for exo-force.

I love those new pistols!

I think those are SW style blasters with an extra piece attached...at least that's what they look like to me. (guy shooting 2 of them off the back of the truck.)

I'm going to laugh if that's true. We're all expecting these big new sharks, and man we'll be surprised if they're just the old ones. :-D Then again, how could the old ones have the flick fire missiles attached?

I am sorry, was out tonight and I am joining late.. so it was mentioned before

but the only, the ONLY thing I can think about is this ...

when I go to bed now, in my dreams, and highly possible to be the first thing I think about when I wake up...

X-D

and well, something like military... count me in at once..! :'-) But ... emm... this is a bit too colorful and <insert that tiresome argument>. I 'd prefer something like Advance Wars but that is another topic, in it?

I am just glad I will save even more money and have more financial power for customizing minifigs,

cause this line is so not my piece of cake! hehe... :-) Uahaha... financial power... (evil laugh disappears...)

Zzz to sleep...

good point about the colorful and junorized *y* i think it would be cool to see it a little more military. But lego trys not to do that. I bet you when these come out people might make MOC's like that i've already started to ponder some ideas {that isn't colorful and kiddie} i'm not to fond of the truck in the mission one but the jet is cool for trying not to be militaristic. snow thing is a little over poweredbut everybody likes that chainsaw arm. man who would have thought TLC would have done that. Mobile base is really reallly big but very realistic for a lego truck. i don't know about the car. the jungle thing is cool that little peice there using for the pistol is very new i got a couple in the star wars MTT they were for the destroyer droid.

Well, at least Dr. Evil is happy with this line.

Is it just me or does LEGO have that one horrible design team that everyone is afraid to fire? After Alpha Team and Dino Attack, you would think that they would realize that the generic action sets need something more. Instead the design has dropped a peg. These sets look incredibly bland IMO.

You hit the nail on the head for me. I wish we would get some ideas behind the design teams. I mean how can a company that makes such beautifull things like last years trash lorry or the new castle line. Makes this big piece of mega bloks. It is like they are trying their very best to create failure.
