I've had this dilemma for awhile. I'd like to add one of the fire houses to my Town but I'm stuck between the Fire Brigade or the Ghostbusters HQ. I know it comes down to personal preference but I thought it would be interesting to hear what others think. Fire Brigade will fit with the other buildings but will come at a premium, while Ghostbusters HQ wasn't made to fit with the theme but is better value based on cost per brick..

Any thoughts?

If you are not into collecting other modular buildings then I would go for the Ghostbusters HQ. Its a better price per piece ratio and if you ever need to resell it down the road it would probably get the attention of more buyers being a massive Lego set and licensed. Especially if you purchase the Lego Ideas Ecto-1 car to go with it.

Two months ago I had the same dilemma.

I chose the Fire Brigade. I had already collected most of the modulars and the building was easier to display on my shelves.

If you don't go for all the modulars, I guess the Ghostbusters HQ is a better deal. It looks more impressive. It's costly, but the retired Fire Brigade was expensive too!

If you can get the Fire Brigade for close to the price of the GB set, it would be foolish not to. You could then sell it and buy two GB sets. You can also build the GB set smaller so it fits with the rest of the modulars.

I found myself in the same dilemma. I decided to buy the Ghostbusters HQ and have been working at rescaling it. I am pretty happy with the outside I have achieved but still need to complete the interior. When I have a chance I'll try to post some pictures.

That is my plan as well.  It looks like with GB set and a bunch of my pieces (the generic ones not included in GB that are in the Fire Brigade) I can make a fire brigade (or close enough for my liking) and have enough pieces left over for a MOC modular.

Good point! That might have made my decision. Perhaps I can make a double wide fire house of some sort. My one grip with the Fire Brigade is that it only has one bay. It would be nice to have two.
