rriggs Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 (edited) I recently found a replacement drive belt for my Dyson for only 99p on eBay.......... Oh, you mean Lego deal don't you?? Well, I was in Boulogne a couple of weekends ago (I'm a coach driver) and came across the XXL Mobile Crane 7249 in a hypermarket for 20 Euros (which is about £16). This hypermarket gives coach drivers 15 Euro vouchers for bringing groups of people to the store so the net cost to me was 5 Euros - or about £3.50. This set is available right now on the Lego website for £34.99 so that's a pretty good saving! Cheers Rog Edited June 16, 2008 by rriggs Quote
Tom_castlefan Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Once I saw the knights kingdom sets (Cedric the bull and stuff) where each set came with a shiny component, for only 50p a set! However, back then, I didn't see the wisdom in buying multiples... Quote
Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I got the AT-AP for US$29.99 ( ten US dollars less) at TRU because the box was slightly crushed! And online I got the Toa Terrain Crawler for half-price, straight from lego! Quote
commanderbly42 Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Last year on ebay, I managed to get 4481 Hailfire Droid for only $20. Quote
Lt. Veers Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I got a bag of parts from a garage sale, in which where several Classic Town, Pirates and Blacktron 2 parts and figs. Best $2 I've ever spent! Quote

Eilif Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 After this weekend I had to add another post to this thread. Brickworld had two special after-hours events at 2 local LEGO stores. Supposedly the main attraction of the first night was a special pick-a brick selelction and the second night was all about damaged set sales. I attended the first one, but as it turned out, I wasn't particularly impressed with the PAB and only got one cup. Unexpectedly, however, there were alot of 1/2 off damaged box sets! I've been saving money for a few months from side jobs for LEGO, and I spent it all. I got all the following at Half Off: -A bag of large pine trees -Green Curved roadplates -Tie Tank -Republic Cruiser -Indiana Jones Temple escape (the only set I got that had actually been opened) -Cafe Corner -Town Plan -Death Star II (1/2 off $200 marked-down price!) The final total, with tax was $400.16 USD!! My other find for the Brickworld was a dealer selling minifigs from a bin (there were literally thousands in there) for a dollar a piece. I bought 76, including: 9 forestmen (and the forestman princess), 4 stingrays, 8 wolfpack, 5 ninja, 9 samurai, and others. I estimate that I acquired 10,000+ LEGO elements this weekend! Quote
Nyundi Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 By far the best deal I've found (besides the occasional buy-one-get-two at TRU), was at a KB-Toys (one of those places that seems to always be going out of business). About five years ago I wandered in to find that they were having some silly amount of sales, that compounded if the item happen to be in both categories. For some reason, they had a huge stock of Final Duel II (http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=7201-1). It had the yellow sticker, and the green sticker, and was in isle 3, and it was the 7th of the month, etc. etc. (ok the last few are a bit made up but you get the idea). Long story short, they were something like 50% off, then 50% off again, and then buy one get one free. I don't remember the exact details but I bought about 30 of them at around $0.60 each :) I still have most of them unopened as I'm not a big fan of SW legos I also managed to find a great deal at another discount store, some years ago, and got two Ewok Attack (http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=7139-1) for about $6 each. Also haven't opened them either... Quote
Christine Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Bought Sentai Fortress today for MISB for £10 - thats 86% off the reccomended sale price! Quote
Jameseh Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Battle Packs for £6.74 and V-Wings for £6 each, so I got 5 Clone BP's and 2 V-Wings! And off eBay I got 100 Black 2x2 tiles for £1.04 Quote

Jeff S Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Craigslist about a week ago. Doing a regular LEGO search and saw 7249 XXL Crane listed NIB for $35. It was late at night and I emailed, even twice from two different accounts. I was worried it was a hoax or I was late, but I woke to an email that said ITS YOURS !!! I wrote her back and asked if she had more..... she stated she had the 7942 Fire Truck as well and would take $5 for it. It appeared that her grandmother is in Germany and had sent both sets to her son for his birthday. Grandma had forgot that she already sent the same sets at a different time. They figured for what shipping back to Germany from the USA was, that she would just sell em. Both were NIB and was my best deal to date. Just picked up last years fire boat and hovercraft as well this week for half price at a local store here. Jeff Quote
darkrebellion Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I haven´t found a big deal like almost all of you guys but the most near to great deals I found are the next: - On ebay I bought the 7140 x-wing fighter, NIB and the box in perfect conditions (Any shelf wear or something and it was so shiny ) for 40 bucks the last year. - The last year on a convention I found the Gungan Patrol NIB for around 17 bucks and the box is in great conditions too . - Two old MINI TIE Fighters for free (They are the bonus of two sets I bought from the same seller on ebay). This around 2005. Quote

Justin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Buy one LEGO set, get the other one (equal or lesser value) 20% off at Shopko, a discount department store in my hometown that is similar to Target or Walmart*. I'm sure Hinckley and Joebot are familiar with this store as much as I am. If you are unfamiliar with the store, read more at Wikipedia. Shopko is found in the Midwest, Mountain, and Pacific Northwest regions of the United States and is based in Ashwaubenon, a suburb of Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Many of their stores are found in small or mid sized communities, including some communties already served by Walmart*, Kmart, and Target. Their toy department is located towards the back of their larger stores, including store #1 (216 s. Military Avenue) in Green Bay, WI, a city of almost 104,000. NewRight Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Pick-A-Brick. I racked up about 600 Bricks for only $15. I usually am willing to pay $1 for 10 bricks. So I felt I got a great deal when I counted my Pick-A-Brick loot. I can't wait to go back. Quote
Section8 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Internet: Cloud City, opened but complete in box, for $50 including shipping. Considering I traded the Lando figure for about $30 in sets off of my friend, a very good deal. Store: some people on this site alerted me to 10001 Metroliners being found in stores called Tuesday Morning in the states. A skipped class later, I had a 10001 and speed regulator for $80 plus tax. Hm, yeah I've seen one or two of those. I'll have to stop by sometime. The best deal I've ever gotten... I won't say the free ones from my B-Day or Christmas... So probably a free Studios set that I got for free at some store for buying another Lego set. Quote
Dennimator Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Once I got a whole moving box full with LEGO for only 500 SEK(72$) at a garage sale. Afterwards I sold all the Star Wars minifigs that was in it and gained 560 SEK(81$). Quote
dj2005 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Only just begun collecting again after a decade of time but so far it has been Amazon's 20% LEGO sale. While 20% isn't a whole lot, I didn't have to pay tax, shipping, or for gas and of course, it is easier to purchase online than taking the time to traverse to a B&M store. Reading this thread, some people have gotten some amazing deals. Quote
Seth Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Store: UCS Millennium Falcon for 500 dollars because of damaged box Red beard runner at a market for 50 dollars Internet: Sand crawler for 120 dollars Agents mobile base for 70 dollars Quote

Hun Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 About 2 years ago, I found 8 badly beat-up boxes of 8777 Vladek Encounter for about $1,50 each. One of them was missing one bag of parts, the others were complete. thus did my Shadow Cavalry begin... and, of course, selling most of the unwanted parts brought me back the whole investment. Quote
Jippon Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 The best deal I found was in LegoLand Germany. They had this tent with all kinds of sets that were outdated or not selling very well. Got me a medium sized star wars set for € 5,- and a pick a brick bag full of 'golden' bionicle masks, also for 5,-. When back in holland, I sold those masks for 5 a piece... I know, it was evil....
