Monkfish44 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Hmmm, well classic stuff sells for a bomb at bricklink, so probably: 4-5 ninjas, 2 samurai on horse, and a big bag of random stuff for about £6.00. Either that or this: http://flickr.com/photos/monkfish44/2833368932/ for £10.00 I'm not good on the price of things so I dunno how good that is. Quote
fenrir Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I'm just back from a holiday in Denmark. I went to a store and found 7029 Lego castle skeleton ship attack. ( limited edition) was 700 DKK now 300 DKK. (300 DKK = +/- 40 Euro) I also went to LEGOLAND and had a VOUCHER. Could spend 150 DKK (20 euro) in the Legoshop for free. \ I like it. Quote
Cameron_Talley Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 The Wife of a friend of mine works for PFS web, the company that handles some of Lego's online store stuff. She doens't work with the Lego side directly but occasionally mingles with the people that do. Anyway, they had a charity auction for Special Olympics and one of the items up for bid was a UCS Star Destroyer. So my friend wondered if I wanted to bid on it, and I told him $100. Much to my surprise, I won! I haven't gotten it yet, but it's MISB and I paid 1/3 off retail for it. 3000 pieces of LEGO, here we come! Quote
King Kahuka Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Umm... I got an entire 7-year Lego collection from a friend's friend for only 0 dollars. Best deal o' me life. Tons of sets, instructions, minifigs, everything. I could barely fit it in the car. Also, at a garage sale, I got about 8 old pirate sets for 35 dollars. Include Black Seas Barracuda, Forbidden Island, etc. I sold BSB (I already had one) for 100 bucks. So I actually made 65 dollars. Quote
Adam Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 On eBay, a BSB for only $14.00 USD! Buy it now!!!! I didn't make it, though. Quote
frogstudio Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 (edited) MISB El Dorado Fortress for U$S 10.- and Knight's Procession for U$S 7.- (with original box and instructions), both over the internet :) Edited September 21, 2008 by frogstudio Quote

Aaron Morse Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Best deal I ever found in store was the Defense Archer Kit #4801 about 4 years ago. I was walking though a Sears, checking out the toys section for Lego deals, and was on the way out after being disappointed, when I nearly ran into a aisle bin FULL of these, marked at 25 cents canadian! I promptly picked up the ENTIRE bin and headed for the nearest cashier. 20 dollars and 70 minifigs later...I've got me an instant Knights Army. BEST DEAL EVER! Quote
SupaaSayajin Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Last year I found some very bad described ebay auctions, containing those Lego sets all MISB: I paid a total of 19 Euro. Quote
CP5670 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 But I dont understand why the Batamobile Ultimate has loads of good parts but its really cheap on Bricklink? Yeah, this set has always been inexplicably cheap on ebay and BL. Not sure why, as it's an excellent model and not one you would expect to have low demand for. I got two of these at heavy discounts ($35 from S@H clearance section and $25 MISB off ebay) and they still seem to be quite common on ebay. There have been some other sets like this over the years. The 8480 Space Shuttle used to be very common on ebay until 2004 and wasn't all that expensive (it's much more so now). I got one when it came out in 1996and got a second one MISB many years later but actually paid less for it, $133 as opposed to $160. The opposite situation can also occur, where a currently available set goes for significantly higher prices on ebay and BL. I remember this happening with the 8455 Backhoe for example, and it's also common with many of the UCS sculpture sets. Quote

der seb Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 last week I found 4 boxes of 8877 + 6 enzo ferrari for 100 Euro in total. They were a bit damaged from storage, but all MISB. Quote
Righteous Squid Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 The best deal I've got so far is two Striking Venom (7707) sets for £19.99 in Woolworths. The sets were reduced becasue the boxes were rather battered and they were also BOGOF. Quote
Trexxen Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks to the phone specials at Shop @ Home...(Sadly they didn't have Bullet Run; otherwise I'd have it too!) In order of what I paid, from highest to lowest: -Dwarve's Mine Defender -Hybrid Rescue Tank -Assault Tiger Total order, with shipping, came out to $32.something - a great deal for some hopefully great sets! =D ~Trexxen Quote
ColdBricks Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) Gidday, Down here in New Zealand we only get a few SAH deals... however they are killers on the freight costs so it generally doesn't work out so flash. We quite often get good deals through retailers though, generally 20% of sales though sometimes after xmas a few retailers run with 30% off all lego. There is a big 2nd hand market down here on our local auction site.. go here to spot the good deals.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Lego-...-0923-1191-.htm But my best deals ever are I bought about 12 of the 5483 Ready Steady Create (690pc). RRP was about $80nz but I got them for $39nz each. I then sold about 7 of them for over $90nz each. But I feel my biggest score was a box of classic space. 928 but no baseplates, and 926 with heaps of parts, 45 mini figs - 95% in mint condition. all up about 4 kilos of good classic space for $30NZ. Cheers, Troy Edited October 28, 2008 by ColdBricks Quote
MoonCheese Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I'm not sure, although I remember getting some Islanders set in the 90s for like $5 US and some change... Quote
Marc Gagnon Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 There was a special at HBC - Zellers in Canada several years ago this kit was on sale for $35.00 dollars... they never received them at the store... I had a rain-check for 2... after 3 months of complaining to HBC they finaly called and said they had one and I was going to receive it free because of all the grief caused... I reminded them my rain-check was for 2 and the manager said " good thing we brought 2 in " so I paid $35.00 for the 2 or 17.50 each Also found this on a trip to Vermont at a Toy store sidewalk sale for $50.00 Sweet. Omega 8 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Troll on the Loose, My GF got it for me. $0.99 @ Target in 2004/2005. It was like they found it laying in the stockroom behind the racks, it wasn't even in the computer system anymore. or perhaps Hogwarts V2 for $22.00 on clearance @ Target I think the previous were probably BEST but... I got an Arkham Asylum for $19 Quote
paul_delahaye Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 10 Years ago I passed up the chance to get a monorail accessory set from the top shelf of a Toy shop in a little village somewhere in Wales. Just wonder if it is still sitting there, shame I cannot remember where that toy shop was? That would have been one of the best £20 ever spent. Quote
Dadster Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Just 2 days ago, I snagged a severely beat-up HP+OotP Castle for $11.82. Turns out the box had been opened (only thing missing was the small bag with Hermione's head, etc...) previously. Still a great deal as far as I was concerned! Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) One year ago, I won a sealed set from 1981 (6600) on an eBay auction, at $20 or so. Edited August 8, 2011 by johnnyvgoode Quote
de Gothia Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 My best deal was on internet a couple of years ago. I found a big lot of lego on www.blocket.se (a smaller version of ebay here in Sweden) and saw 3739 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=3739-1 on one picture. I asked the seller how much it costed and he told me he wanted 250 kr (~25 euro) for it. I picked it up and found it complete and with box and instructions! de Gothia Quote
