Kowakian Monkey-Lizard Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) Found this on Brickshelf. Don't know for sure if it's new or not. For those of you with bad eye-sight, like me, it says 1:9 scale. (Credz to Sinner) Kinda chunky, IMO. KML Edited January 18, 2008 by Kowakian Monkey-Lizard Quote
gylman Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 EEK! :-X I'm a pretty big fan of the Ferrari series, but at least based on this picture, this looks pretty fugly. Quote

That was my initial thought too. But it's sorta growing on me. Just the thought of a large system F1 set is interesting to me. But the back, I agree with you, is just...bleh. :-X Is it 1:13 scale? Looks like it to me. Don't think it's 1:8 though. |-/ KML Edited January 17, 2008 by Kowakian Monkey-Lizard Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Saw this on brickshelf aswell, first impression is I grew on the blockyness of it quite quickly - remindes me of some model team sets, which I love. The only first complaint I have is of the front nose, couldve dun much better. Quote
Siegfried Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I suspect this is for the non-technic Ferrari lovers. It looks like it doesn't even have steering. It probably is a lot better than it looks in the photo. I recently got the USC Batmobile and that was far better than I expected. *sweet* Is it 1:13 scale? Looks like it to me. Don't think it's 1:8 though. |-/ It's 1:9. (It says so on the box.) Quote

KimT Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I actually like that it's not so "technic" in it's appearance. It reminds me of the classic blue F1 racer that I have. Unfortunately I can't find a pic of it... KimT EDIT: just found on on peeron.com Quote
Mikael Willberg Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I actually like that it's not so "technic" in it's appearance. It reminds me of the classic blue F1 racer that I have. I just find the 392 much more appealing than the 8157, maybe I'm more of an oldschool guy. Mig Quote
adik_sa_lego Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 i personally like this one. it's more "solid" than the technic ferrari. the nose could use a little work, but the new F2008 has a complicated front wing/nose. it seems that there's not much stickers so that's a big plus. Quote

john cleese Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I'm sorry if this offends anyone but it looks like a pile of crap. I think a 4 year old on drugs could do better. *wacko* Quote
voltio Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I'm sorry if this offends anyone but it looks like a pile of crap. I think a 4 year old on drugs could do better. *wacko* But tell us what you really think. :-P All kidding aside, I think this set is OK. I own the 1:10 Technic F1 Ferrari from 2004 as well as the Model Team System Ferrari from 1998 (?), so this set will look good in my collection. I wonder about the price, though. The 1:10 Technic version cost $70, so this one may cost about the same. Quote

john cleese Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 (edited) I'd love to see your take on a red ferrari F1 racer? and I'd love to see yours ;-) You've gone with the "I bet you can't do better" approach. Do movie critics direct movies? I would never make a ferrari in this scale because I only like to build minifig scale moc's. I also don't really want to build a ferrari. I think it could be a lot better. I mean if I went to the grand Prix and saw that thing come out onto the track, i'd barely be able to contain myself. :-D Edited January 19, 2008 by john cleese Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 'Tis reminiscent of this old set: I like it! At first when I saw it I thought it was to blocky and not sleek enough but the shape, the more I look at it though, it seems to be just right. Shame about the lack of white bricks, as that makes the car more realistic. (cigarette advertising has been banned) Quote
5150 Lego Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Just saw this on brickshelf myself. Looks good! Even though its blocky, i still think it flows better than the large techinc ferrari sets we've been getting the last few years. Can't wait to see some better pics. Quote
Siegfried Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 It's available. I've seen this in Toyworld. (Australia) Quote
