Hi all,

Do you have any idea what new product is teased in this post?

It says "We are so close to revealing an awesome new play experience that boosts your child’s creativity! Watch out for our next post!"

Some kind of Mindstorms/Raspberry Pi integration would be neat. Something that promotes coding perhaps?

That is already possible isn't it? Both use Bluetooth. I don't expect any new Mindstorms items: they typically have a 10 year cycle.

Not sure whether it's even a product. The description of it as a "new play experience" is vague enough that it could just as easily be describing a new app or website.

LEGO has posted another teaser, and confirmed a date for the final announcement: January 4th.

Based on the new teaser I'm thinking it's going to be a new version of LEGO Mindstorms. The video appears to show some sort of Mindstorms sensor module. And that would make sense, since we are just about due for a new version. Previous installments have been released every three or four years on average (RCX in 1999, RCX 2.0 in 2001, NXT in 2006, NXT 2.0 in 2009, EV3 in 2013).

Could it be something like a game where you take a picture of an object and you then have a race against the A.I. to build it as quickly as possible? (or something along those lines).

I'm also thinking along this line because it's been awhile since they have updated Mindstorms ...

... or it could be a totally different product line that uses sensors?

Could be something related to the rollout of the Power Functions 2.0 system introduced in the WeDo line. In fact, it could be both—a new Mindstorms based on PF2.0
