And the secure vault is a safe place for you to store your gold and other precious metals and gems. You could even make a small percentage of profit if you allow the Exchange to use your gold in its transactions, while your total deposit value is guaranteed. The Exchange is located on a prominent street corner in Weelond.

Today we see a wealthy adventurer concluding a deal with the banker.

A ne’er-do-well hiding around the corner will be disappointed to discover that all of the adventurer’s gold is safely in the vault.

About the build:

This MOC started out as an experiment to see what I could do with a couple of those big roof pieces from a Harry Potter set. I’m happy with how I was able to extend the length of the roof, but the depth of the building is still very limited, so I added the rear extension for the vault. Turning it into an actual operating bank was a spur of the moment idea as I was working on the write-up. We’ll have to wait to see if I make a fortune or go broke!

What a fantastic MOC, wonderful, and so fitting for the Weelond city style.

The atmosphere of the first picture with the carriage is absolutely brilliant, I love it.

The use of the Harry-Potter-roofs works out amazingly well, great idea.

 

So can I store 2.000 DBs at 15% monthly interest rate in your vaults? ;-)

This build looks great, the colors are perfect and adding the vault at the back gave it a great depth.  Looking forward to seeing how your banking endeavor pays off... though if you take up Elostirion's offer, I'm guessing that you'll be going broke.

Very nice build, Capt Wolf!  The recessed arches look great, and while I think the roof looks a tad odd (if it could be made wider that would definitely help - but it obviously can't be, as you said! ), the vault in the back helps out with that a bit   I really like that carriage (based on the POTC design, I assume?) as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing how your venture goes!

Thanks for the kind words! I agree the build needed the street activity to come to life, but I still used the other figs to show off the building itself adequately.

As for your offer, uh, no. Certainly not at that rate! In general, I'm not going to take any deposits until I see if anybody is going to take out any loans. Otherwise it is certainly a losing proposition!

Thanks. I was pleased with how the colors worked. It wound up being one of my favorite builds so far.

Thanks! Yes, the vault extension was a must. I agree I wish there was some way to add depth to the roof. And you are correct about the carriage: It is modified from the POTC design.

That is the cutest bank I have ever seen  Brilliant.

You could tie the interest to the loans. Depending on percentage of total money in the bank, you pay out a part of the interest from loans. Payouts could happen only when loans are payed back. So it is a long-term investment, for those with more money than they know what to do with. With our duvet quality from the royal factory, it is actually better to have the money in the bank than in the mattress. You sleep better when you know the money is safe.

As for determining interest rates and such, deposits would have to be relatively long-term, but I have to see if there's any interest by players to take out loans at all. It seems like there should be a market for financing ship licenses, but we'll see.

Thanks. I considered making the microfigs tan or dark tan, but the lt bley added an accent color the build needed.

And three more on a cart next to him. He handed over the bags to Guilder's assistants, along with a small message.

Yeah, I realised that as well. But in Germany it is currently February 1st, 9:25 am, and it was around 9:00 when I did my transactions. I assumed it was February in the game as well.................. "Anywhere in the world" is about the weirdest deadline there can be...

The difference is bigger than the 750 db's he paid to WIFE... If I am correct, it is also the money for the auctioned vessels he paid in January (as should have been).

Anyway, I just want to see a Fontajo hanging from his toes on the tree, especially since he had 3 more hours to make everything ok

Beautiful bank! Those roof pieces are perfect for this, and the overall architecture is very fitting. It displays your signature building style really well. The carriage and cobblestone look nice, and I like your use of the CMF king body for such a smartly-dressed character. Good work.
