Posted January 18, 200817 yr I came across this on BS. I'm sure a lot of us have seen some of the entries for the Steampunk SW competition. This moc in particular caught my eye. I really like the cockpit design and how he did the front, very creative.
January 18, 200817 yr I don't like it that much. The best one's I've seen were the Tie Fighter and the Y-wing (which has a cool R2 garbage can unit. But the idea of the contest is great (great for tose who have to much money and time).
January 18, 200817 yr I saw this aswell, intreigued by the cockpit. Its alright, but it's not the best kindof steampunk I've seem however it's still quite nice. My complaints with many of the star wars steampunk entries are the physics. This, and more than half the other ship models entered could never fly. Unfortunate.
January 18, 200817 yr The best part about it is that the rotors appear to be on gears, meaning they can rotate! Edited January 18, 200817 yr by AgentRick57
January 24, 200817 yr I didn't like this at first, but the more I look at it, the more I change my mind! :-D
January 24, 200817 yr It's allright. I still prefer the Naboo Fighter and the TIE Steam; both of which have more coherent designs IMO. While Steampunk brings those crazy flying machines to life, I find that some Steampunk MOCs seem too slapped together. The idea of a Steampunk Falcon is absolutely brilliant, however I'm not completely sold on the execution. It's a good effort though, and the builder definitely deserves some kudos for his work.
January 24, 200817 yr the naboo fighter is best. i absolutely love steve the navigation monkey. :-P that little twist is what won me over vs the tie fighter which is equally good but is more generic steampunk, i.e. replacing a droid with a monkey (mechanical with bio-organism instead of another low tech mechanism).
February 11, 200817 yr You're right, that cockpit is brilliant. Slightly off topic but after this comp did the price of brown and reddish brown tiles skyrocket on bricklink?
February 11, 200817 yr I like this overall its a very solid effort. Some things are bit frayed at the ends, but some of the great details such as the cockpit save it handily.
