Squee! Companions!

I like Sarah Jane, but I think Rose could use a different torso. That one seems too...formal for her.

Are you going to do Eccleston's Doctor? Jack? Jackie? Mickey? Do Mickey!

I've been busy trying to turn two popular companions into minifigs. I kinda like how Sarah Jane turned out, but Rose can definitely be improved, I think.

And then, there's always... the DALEKS! I've tried to "improve" the design Doctor Sinister posted...

...and I came up with a design of my own.

To be honest, I'm not extremely pleased with either of them. The upper version was quickly put together, using any part at hand (hence the random colour scheme). The lower version looks quite big and bulky. Again the colours bother me, in this case the various shades of grey. Hmm... I might get back on the Daleks some other time, if I can figure out a better design.

Angled plates, that's what I originally wanted to use. Good move.

Can you fit a jumper at the front on the bottom to fill out that gap at all? On the first one I mean.

I'd love to do Mickey, but he's gonna be difficult for me. I'm doing the Doctor Who 'line' in flesh tone (according to the LEGO license policy, any official figs would be fleshies too) and Mickey is black. Since I have not (yet) got a black face, I'm postponing everyone's favourite Cyberman killah for the time being.

You can expect an Eccleston Doctor down the line, but I'm waiting for the arrival of an 'excellent part' to make him perfect. Don't expect him in the too near future, but I can make my plans for him concrete within a few months. (Ooh, being cryptic!)

However... Since past Doctors seem to be in demand... I've tried to minifigurize Jon Pertwee's third Doctor:

Hurray! More Doctors! I can't really comment on the accuracy, but they look nice. Are we gonna see any Venusian aikido, recorder playing, or reversing of the neutron flow? And the Brig! Even better!

GREAT!! If they were to make doctor who lego (please do) they would make a new molded dalek piece it would have 3 parts the lower part bables, a middle with the gun and sucker which would spin and a head with eyestalk witch would spin.

You know, he only actually "reversed the polarity of the neutron flow" twice on screen, one in the Sea Devils and once in The Five Doctors. He's even explained to the Brigadier (in a radio serial) that the phrase is meaningless! He did reverse the polarity of other things though, including the sonic screwdriver.

Of course I'm nowhere near exhausted on possible Doctor Who minifigs. As Hewkii pointed out, the new series alone already boasts a lot of cool characters I haven't yet made. But at the moment, I'm anticipating LEGO's summer sets. It looks like the Agents and Indiana Jones lines will have minifig parts that would fit nicely for certain Doctor Who characters (an updated Tenth Doctor, a Ninth Doctor, a better Rose...).

At the moment I'm reorganising all my LEGO. Perhaps I'll find a cool torso or a perfect haircut for another DW character. For now though, I think a short break from DW minifigs on my part is most likely. But, as I said: my 'line' will be continued in summer (if not sooner) for sure!

In the meanwhile I'm trying to tackle other non-lincenced tv/film productions. For instance, I've just uploaded my first batch of Lord of the Rings minifigs on my Flickr page.

Hurray! And what a coincidence- that was the exact torso I wanted for Eccleston. I like him and Pete, though the eyebrows on Pete seem a bit strong. Though I must say the ears are virtually non-existent - a significant deviation from the source material.

I'll try a version of Rose with that head soon. Haven't done it until now cause Rose doesn't have blue eyes, but it might work anyway. When I do Mickey and Jackie, I'll add a new Rose with that face.

Mmkay, now please don't y'all lynch me... but here's my first shot at captain Jack Harkness. Mind you, I really wanna change his hair to the Mutt-from-Indiana-Jones-thing, but seeing as to how I can't yet...

(The dude on the right is another version of the Ninth Doctor. Which one do you guys think looks best?)

I like him, very nice torso for a scarf, but when did he ever wear a fedora???

I really think I should get back to some Doctor who mociing after all of these new great models and figs from Mr Spielbrick ! Here is a dalek i made a while back. It isn't very good but I managed to make one that was mini-fig scale. i let you guys judge! ;-)

In honour of Doctor Who being back on BBC screens since about 2 weeks, I've started up "production" again. I'll have to wait for the new Indy sets and some BrickLink stuff for a new and improved Jack Harkness, Ninth Doctor, Rose, First Doctor and possibly Eighth Doctor. But for now, let me introduce you to a slightly modified Tenth Doctor and Mickey in Cybermen-killer-mode:
