January 19, 200817 yr Very well done! *y* I would have preferred yours over the original one! *wub* The reason I haven
January 19, 200817 yr I really like this one better, this moc might convince me to buy this set so I could do something similar.
January 19, 200817 yr Terrific modification Alex! *y* Something TLC could've made. I think the two studs wider infact looks better than on the original. The original one looks a bit small for the truck in my eyes. It fits very well next to the cement mixer. I asume you used the bricks from the set to make this truck, but if not, do you have a picture with the original and the MOD next to each other? Good MOD!
January 19, 200817 yr I like your version much better, I feel the perfect size for lego cars and trucks is 6 wide *y* Can make 6 wide fit 2 people next to eachother, 4 is too small, much to small, and 8 just seems to big. Anyway, off topic there abit, I like your mods to this set, seems a small thing to do but took an entire redesign of the model. I like it much better this way.
January 19, 200817 yr Excellent MOC - my eldest got this for Christmas, but we find it difficult to play with as it dwarfs the town and the roads. I might just have to secretly MOC it while he's at school, or if I can get enough parts, turn one into two with the spare trailer :-) Brickmaster: Can I ask, do you have a technique for getting two side-by-side in a 6-wide vehicle. I have made two fire appliances as 6 wide scale, but cannot satisfactorily position two minifigs next to each other, without one being 'loose'. This is using normal doors, (i.e. small red, with fire signs on), rather than the non-doors as featured on Heavy-hauler or more recent set. Thanks.
January 20, 200817 yr I sure can, try atleast ;-) Here, in this picture (ignore the green circles and such) you can see the 1x2 plate with a center stud in it, these make the people sit half a stud to the side (You can see the part here) using 4 of these, you can have 2 people sitting togeather in a 6 wide area ;-) Also take for example, I use the technique in this creation aswell - two people in a six stud area :-) Example picture 1 Example picture 2 I am unsure of how clearly I explained.. if anymore questions, feel free to ask, and I can see what I can do :-$ This also, does, work with doors - Here is an example for you, a red el camino, 6 wide, seating 2 people in the front (and 1 in back) ;-) Hope this helps somehow :-$ Edited January 20, 200817 yr by Brickmaster
January 20, 200817 yr Thanks for that tip, I've got it to work! I appreciate your help. By the way, looking at your location - my wife went to Wisconsin once, on a school exchange from Germany - 1995 perhaps? She speaks very highly of it.....

I appreciate your help.By the way, looking at your location - my wife went to Wisconsin once, on a school exchange from Germany - 1995 perhaps? She speaks very highly of it..... No problem, always happy to help *sweet* Wisconsin is a nice place for the mostpart, obviously every large city has thier problems, but its pretty laid back-have-a-beer attitude here :-$ I don't mind it ;-)
January 20, 200817 yr This is an excellent mod Alex54, I think I prefer it to the original. Six stud wide just looks more natural to me, you've done an good job of converting it *y* Batbrick is Back! >:-)
January 20, 200817 yr This is a very cool renovation! It looks much better than the original, an excellent size, yet still keeping the look. *y* The trailer is cool too, and I like that you included a stand for it to, well, stand alone! *y* *y* ~Peace
January 20, 200817 yr wow alex !!! this set is one of my favorite (in its original state ;-) ) city sets... probably my most favorite. but i love the 6 wide version too !!! im really impressed by this - great job !!! - BM
January 20, 200817 yr Author Thanks everybody for the feedbacks! Did you use original 7998 bricks only, or were other parts needed for your MOC as well? Well, I tried to use to the maximum the pieces from the original set, but I have to use some other part, in particular for the truck itself. I asume you used the bricks from the set to make this truck, but if not, do you have a picture with the original and the MOD next to each other? Sorry I can't, you have asumed well :-) wow alex !!!this set is one of my favorite (in its original state ;-) ) city sets... probably my most favorite. but i love the 6 wide version too !!! im really impressed by this - great job !!! - BM Thanks!
