On most message boards, one doesn't duplicate the topic of an active or recent thread.

Actually that is the stance of Eurobricks. But since reviews often involve a lot of work and provide different or even better photos and a new first hand opinion they deserve extra exposure. Thus we tend to allow people to create new topics for a new review. In most other cases we prefer to keep discussion to existing threads.
