languages Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 I am going to Denmark tommorow for the Inside tour. When I get back on Sunday I will post images including the image of the 'suprise' set. I will also tell you what they have in PaB and the shop for all you people going on the Eurobricks event... :-D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 25, 2005 Governor Posted May 25, 2005 Will you be taking a camera along to take happy snaps? Do they allow that or do they do the old buy images at the gift shop trick... Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Good point there Phes. Sometimes, they just don't want their "secrets" exposed to the public. I bet there are also many other things that we don't even know about the LEGO company. Even though they are most likely to give you the surprise set near or at the end of the tour, I hope you can get the pictures ASAP. I look foward to that. Quote
V()()D()() Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 If you bring a camera they'll think your a spy from Megablocks and kick you out |-D Im going in june I cant wait!!!! :oD Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 25, 2005 Governor Posted May 25, 2005 Ah yes... LEGO can't let their top secret information leak... Heaven forbid if we all discovered their next <insert that tiresome argument> piece ahead of time... Quote
V()()D()() Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Drinking my misticle VOODOO tea I predict that in six years TLC will only be 4+... :'( *sob* But personally I think TLC should just trash 4+. I dont get it, isn't plain Lego meant for 4+ anyways??? so why make a new theme!?! Also if the 4 year old is stupid enough to eat those oversizedd megablocks... theres some thing wrong! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 26, 2005 Governor Posted May 26, 2005 I hope your misticle voodoo tea is very inaccurate! With all this juniorisation I can see how LEGO would evolve into that 4+ rubbish without LEGO even realising it. It seems these days just about every set has one specialised piece that can't be found in other sets. I remember the good old days when LEGO used to magically reuse pieces from all over the place to encorporate into the design, rather than create one piece specific for the purpose. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 We all would like to go back and revisit those times, wouldn't we? It's a total "YES" for me. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 As a reminder, Sunday is tomorrow! Yay! I'm very excited to see the "surprise" set. Hopefully it will be something we have never seen before. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 29, 2005 Governor Posted May 29, 2005 Anticipation is one of the precedicessors of disappoint along, that and this thing called "expectations" Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Today's the day, Languages. Time to cough up the details, if you would old chap. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 I'm sure he will. Just give him some time. We might have to wait to the end of today. All the traveling has got him tired I bet. Besides, a promise is always a promise. ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 29, 2005 Governor Posted May 29, 2005 Ok drum roll.... Where's the drum smiley? Quote
languages Posted May 29, 2005 Author Posted May 29, 2005 HOT OFF THE PRESS!! I have just returned from Billund and here, as promised, is my report on The Inside Tour :-D The participants had travelled from all around the world to take part - they came from Japan, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, America, France and, of course, from England. In total there were 21 of us - but they were mostly adults. Unfortunately for you, we all decided to take an oath of secrecy because we have seen some amazing and highly secretive things (eg something that will be launched next year) so we don't want to spoil the magic for the next Inside Tour participants. Maybe after June, we will all be able to "spill the beans"! Anyway I can tell you that it was certainly the experience of a lifetime. If any of you are thiinking of going on the trip in June, I know there are still some places available and I can highly recommend it. The Lego Company were extrememly generous - we were given loads of fabulous gifts (not to mention the highly collectable goodbye present) and we were shown all of the sets from the Nuremburg Toy Fair (minus the Death Star). We went into the Archives, the Elements Store, the factory, the Marketing Centre - to name but a few of the places of interest. We even went backstage in Legoland itself and I can't wait to work over there! We spent loads of time, on many occasions, with the Designers, Jake McKee and other very important and famous Lego people . We took part in a couple of competitions and I was one of the lucky winners - but you will have to wait until the right time for me to post my photos! There are loads of Exclusives in the Lego Shop, including Lego shaped ice cube moulds, Lego brick chocolates, Lego bedding and the Star Wars keyrings. The Pck a Brick is OK (much better than Windsor I thought). Quote
Jipay Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Well we will see this at the event :-D 175 euros, still some place available... :-D Quote
languages Posted May 29, 2005 Author Posted May 29, 2005 Most of the places we went were exclusive to the tour. They are not open to the public, especially the Idea House where we saw this years line. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Does this mean no picutures!? :'( Well, I don't want to spiol the fun for the other people going on tour, so Languages, if you don't mind, would you PM me with a description of the surprised gifts? How about the new sets? The "Idea House"? Or are you completely not allowed? If it's that serious, then ignore this comment. But if you would like to share, PM me with the information (and with some pictures if you have any). Thanks. P.S. I promise I won't spill the beans for anyone who is still planning to go... Quote
Jipay Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 I hope you've spread the word about eurobricks at the tour. But honestly, was it worth 1500$ ? Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 If you could, languages, please add me to the mailing list. I'm not gonna tell anyone, I swear. Please? Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 From the looks of it, it must be worth all of that money. LEGO actually put a price on their formally unexposed secrets. A very high price. Quote
Jipay Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 well, actually the toys are produce between 6 months/1 year before release so it doesn't surprise me they've seen a lot of things ;) Quote
languages Posted May 29, 2005 Author Posted May 29, 2005 Actually its 2 years and I spread the word of eurobricks. Im sorry guys Im going to stick with my oath.... Quote
Jipay Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 you are right to do it :) A promess is a promess, a real man have only one word :) Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Fine with me. But can you give us a hint on the surprise set? And how about hints on the upcoming sets? (You can just give us the new themes, and not the actual sets if you if you like.) Just out of curiosity, as I town/city fan, are is this theme going to be expanded in the future? Just answer yes or no would be fine. Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 An oath is sacred Languages, good for you ;) I'm happy that you enjoyed it ;) I hope that at the event we'll see some secret sets, yeahhhhh that would be cool!!!!! mr. lego_bildur, i'm positive city will be expanded ;) Quote
