Brandon Stark Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Crecopia Residence by Brandon Stark, on Flickr Due to some encouragement by the government of Oleon, many Oleanders have traveled to the less settled settlements in New Terra, namely Crecopia. As the settlement has relatively no structures, properties are either very inexpensive or free. Thus, many commoners fleeing the crowded cities of the Old World are now flocking to islands like Ile de Tyche, where the climate is good, and opportunities to make good money are common. Besides commoners, many nobles are also seizing the chance to buy properties and lease them to newcomers. Seeing the opportunity to make Brandon's father bought out large portions of the relatively unsettled settlements. On the many properties, buildings, including this house were built. While they have remained empty, as expected, the encouragement of the Oleander government has prompted Oleanders to move here. Thus, the house was quickly bought by an Oleander merchant. Elostirion Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I recommend to add bricks behind the windows. Yellow/orange in case there is light, black or dark grey if there isn't. Or yellow/red/blue/green curtains with sloped bricks, and a color behind those. The rest of the build is very clean and well-executed, looking good! The minifigs and their posing stands out to me, great work. I like the door-technique as well. Quote

Bregir Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Nice story and lovely moc, Brandon! I like the half-timbered style with the stone foundation. I think both upper and lower levels are a bit too tall, though, which makes the house look very imposing. Perhaps cutting out a few bricks height in each level would make it look more colonial? You could also try adding diagonal cross members to the half-timbered stock, to make it look a little more authentic. And perhaps it is time to try to put a little more environment around the house? Perhaps angling it a bit on its base? Just a thought - I like this style too. All in all, good work! Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Nice build, Brandon. Sharp design, and the minifig posing is quite good for LDD standards. Next step - full interior - you can do it And one tip: if you rotate your build in LDD, you'll get better lighting easily. In this case, turn it 90° counter-clockwise, or 180°, and voilà - more sunlight, without having to fiddle around with the scene.sc. Quote
