roadstermatt Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I have been modifying my lego 75155 u-wing fighter I always thought that the cockpit was too narrow as it should have 2 abreast seating and the control deck should be linked to the load / troop area hope you like it any ideas to improve are welcome i used 2 x 75155 sets plus some other bits and pieces I dont have any building instructions as i built it up as i went adding and modifying from the standard instructions from 75155 https://flic.kr/s/aHskNnjwfh Quote
VaderFan2187 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 @roadstermatt nice mods! Though the troop bay is still a little bit too fat. The size comparisons with the other sets are good. Quote
roadstermatt Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 I have been thinking the same I am going to remove a layer of the bay to see how / if that will help also I was wondering if there is a reverse version of wedge / slope piece 41748 as I thought if there is I could mask some of the bulk by thickening the main hull under the wing line Quote
Ellisss_2 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) Looks fantastic, but I would agree with @VaderFan2187 that the trooper bay is too bulky. Edited February 6, 2017 by Ellisss_2 Quote
roadstermatt Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 I've modified it a bit lowered the cargo troop part and added landing gear to the front and tweeks here and there bit of detailing on the upper surfaces also took some pictures with the rogue one crew https://flic.kr/s/aHskNnjwfh Quote
neueruse Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Are you attaching the bay to the main body the same way that the official set does? I've tried to mod the set to allow two seats in the cockpit but have been unsuccessful so far due to the limited width of the connection to the bay. Quote
roadstermatt Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 no i've attached it in a standard Lego way not using technic pieces to be honest it caused me some structure issues and some use of bad language whilst building it Quote
