Modular moc standards

Hi guys, I am new in the wonderfull world of modulars - I am used to building tall castles, but City is something new for me - I;ve built few modulars, but I have a lot of problems with sides - as I don;t have a lot of bricks, I use other colors - sometimes they can be seen, ugly color with wholes - so, are there any standards regarding sides and from what point they become to be visible?

Any other suggestions regarding modular standars?

Any good suggestions regarding how to build a large city layout, ideas for activities on street and good exsamples of beautiful and smart modulars?

Sides are only visible if wider than the building it is next to. Consider using your ugly colors for the center of the sides.
