Unfortunately, I imagine the parts in those diagrams are not any hint of actual physical parts to come. The one for the blue area features the old octagonal cone piece from Aquazone in a newer lavender color, and I certainly don't see that part being brought back any time soon. So chances are that they didn't pay any real heed to whether the parts they chose would realistically appear in those colors, instead merely choosing the parts and colors for show.

The image is clearly a digital render, the parts are posed in violation of the laws of gravity .  I am more surprised that Technic elements would be part of the free-build experience, as they require more effort and pre-planning for assembly than system bricks.  However, one of the play areas, the "Red Zone" has a Creative Lab which has PF motors and other Technic elements, so there is hope.

Too bad.  According to my wife the pink elements would give birth to other pink elements which would therefore prove that pink elements are 50 percent tougher than elements in other colors. :laugh:

I wonder if it would be worth it for Lego to release a limo built out of Technic pieces in the friends line? Like the Ferrari sets that arguably weren't really Technic (focus on aesthetics above functionality, but that debate belongs elsewhere ). Something like this....

....with some basic functionality (again like the Ferrari sets) such as steering, V6 engine and opening doors/hood/truck/etc. Maybe even some (lots of) PF lights connected to a light/sound module? As for scale, because it's so long I guess making it in scale with 42043 wheels would make it a pretty decent size. I wonder if the regular Lego friends fan would be interested. Would it bother them that it would be in a totally different scale to the figures?

Pink (or generally with Friends color scheme) would be nice. My 4 years old daughter loves Technic and Friends, I think she would be absolutely thrilled by the combination. I would definitely be on the list of customers.

The only Technic piece in pink according to Bricklink is the 40 tooth gear wheel. http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?G=4393#T=I

as a side-hobby.. I collect technic parts in ALL colours available..

that one (and the blue one!) has been on my holy-grail list for a while...

Here's an old photo - have managed to get a few more since then...

You and me both Rohan,  I've been going after the pink 40t clock gear for 5 years.  I have had the wanted list listing for ever and the two clocks I've purchased have NOT had the correct pink gears.

I just recently got a blue 40tooth and also have a dark grey.  I have a stupid number of black (130) white (110) Red (150) and Green (120) though which I really don't need (old pic)

Couple of things stand out that you need:

the tan 24tooth gear  -- white, black, red 12tooth singles.  Black 16tooth clutch

Blue, dbg and dark turqouise engine pistons (got a set of 16!),

Quite a few pins with bush (white, orange, green, light grey (not lbg).

Another holy grail part is the 3l pin with friction in WHITE.

Also, the white clutch gear with Light grey inner (only on 8479 barcode truck and impossible to try and buy since its not listed as a different part).

Now your inspiring me to take a pic of all my rare ones!

oh wow.. your pic is insane!

I might go into the Lego Shed tonight and lay them all out, for a fresh pic.. of course, I have all the new axle colours now.

I have orange and tan 24tooth now, too

Still need to get an old vintage red universal joint!

There's also a bunch of gear racks in not-released colours on Bricklink (not in any set) - Yellow, Brown, Tan, etc.. might buy some of those.. although they are at ludicrous prices - $4ea etc

I see magenta panels, connectors, and flexible axle.  And lavender panels

I don't see lavender, just magenta (Bright Reddish Violet) and dark purple (Medium Lilac). Still cool to get Technic parts in those colors (one of which I believe hasn't ever been used in Technic before)!

I also have an unhealthy fascination with gears of unusual colours, although as you can see I am trying to kick the habit:
