January 22, 200817 yr Shit i just saw this on the news, wow i can't believe he's dead. Early reports say that it's drugs related as pills were found in his room, but that's not confirmed just yet. Sad day and yet another good actor passes on.
January 22, 200817 yr Heath Ledger ( the Joker ) is dead. I can't believe it! How will this effect The Dark Knight? Most likely it won't, the studios will want to make money and as such the film will still be released i'm willing to bet.
January 22, 200817 yr Author Most likely it won't, the studios will want to make money and as such the film will still be released i'm willing to bet. yeah the movie will defiantly come out but its still sad and it sucks his first and last joker movie

January 22, 200817 yr He was ok in "10 things I hate about you"... his Brokeback Mountain acting was... ok.Meh for me, but my wife sure is sad. :-| But what about the 3rd Batman movie? Will they replace him?
January 22, 200817 yr But what about the 3rd Batman movie? Will they replace him? Ok well firstly we have no info on if the joker even survives the 2nd film, secondly does it really matter? A film isn't worth a life i'm afraid.
January 22, 200817 yr Very sad :-( . I really liked him as a actor. I hope the dark knight is a great sucsess and that his acting shines.
January 22, 200817 yr Ok well firstly we have no info on if the joker even survives the 2nd film, secondly does it really matter?A film isn't worth a life i'm afraid. Indeed. It's unfortunate when these sorts of things happen. He was a good actor who clearly had a hard time of things. 28 is far too young.
January 22, 200817 yr Man, as confused about the film as I am now, I still can't get over the shock. Kinda makes you really think whats more important in life doesn't it? The guy has a little daughter who'll never see him again, and his family, imagine the shock they'd be going through. Jeez, thats just terrible, I don't know him, obviously, but everytime a big celeb death happens it makes me realise that this can happen to anyone. I'm sure I'll certainly take something away from this, and thats probably that we should be enjoying those closest to us for as long as we can know them. Sound a bit corny I know, but I mean it. What a sad tragedy. Edited January 22, 200817 yr by Batbrick

January 22, 200817 yr Although any dead person is a bad thing on a certain scale, what about the daily deaths of starvation and disease around the world out of the United States? I'm sorry, but I don't really hold a celebrity anything to be more important than any individual's death. I dislike the hype of the celebrity cause. It just makes me think of how people ignore the real crisises around the world that people ignore. Anyway, I don't want to start anything bad, that's just my thoughts. Sorry for anyone's loss, but I aint one much for celebrities.

Sorry for anyone's loss, but I aint one much for celebrities. I understand what you mean, and I'm not really one for the celebrities either. My point was really that when a celeb dies, as tragic as it is, it kind of breaks that wall of ignorance we all surround ourselves with, the one that that makes us forget all the other bad occurrences in this world. When I turn on the TV and find out a famous actor is dead, my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family, but what really strikes me is that it wakes me up to everything else going on, everything I ignore in my daily life. People die everyday all over the world, pretty much all of which never had as glamorous a life as a celebrity. This in no way detracts my sadness towards his death, its just that it saddens me that a famous person need die to wake me and others to the sad fact that this is happening all the time. I guess another thing I'll be taking away from this is that I need to remember those who never had a chance to live to a ripe, old age, whether they be Heath Ledger, someone close to me, or someone I'll never know, and that if I'm to do this, then I will need to stop ignoring all this around me. But also not dwell on it, but enjoy the life I have with others, while I, or they are still around to enjoy life. Thats my thoughts, I apoligise if anyone disagrees, or is offended by them.
January 23, 200817 yr freaky...i just heard from my sister, got online and BAM! scary... it really is sad and may god be with him and his family. jifel

That's a good view you have there, BB. It really is amazing how celebrities can change people's everyday life by what they do... Their own problems or views are amplified over the media. A lot of famous celebs do this badly, by drinking, etc, but if a celebrity does something good, such as spending time in Africa to help starving villages, it galvanizes people to help. A celebrity death, though, really wakes us up. I really hope that the film company puts in a special message in the movie about him, it's the least they can do. Will
