January 23, 200817 yr Although any dead person is a bad thing on a certain scale, what about the daily deaths of starvation and disease around the world out of the United States? I'm sorry, but I don't really hold a celebrity anything to be more important than any individual's death. I dislike the hype of the celebrity cause. It just makes me think of how people ignore the real crisises around the world that people ignore.Anyway, I don't want to start anything bad, that's just my thoughts. Sorry for anyone's loss, but I aint one much for celebrities. I strongly aggree. I mean, it's a very sad loss, and i really feel for his friends and family. But i don't see why it's anything more than that elderly man down your street dieing.People die all the time - it's part of life.To live, means you must die at some point - of earthly life. But when there are 10,000's of people dieing every day in other countries why is this anything more? - to me, it's less, this man has almost had anything he could want - well obvoisly not enough to him - probably just missing that one thing.-Real Joy-.The people overseas have had really nothing at all - apart from that true joy, that's what keeps them hanging on.They STRIVE to SURVIVE becouse of that joy.But They STARVE to death, they die from dehidration, aids ect. even though they try SO hard to survive they dont... :'-( :'-( :'-( But if it was drug over-dosage, THAT is really sad. That man must have been really trobbled (sp?) .I honestly don't know how anyone can take their own life.It is a very selfish thing to do, it's just taking the easy way out - not cool *n*

According to most of the media it was an accidental overdose. They will still release The Dark Knight but it is up in the air if it will be pushed back a few months. I'm sure that the movie itself will be dedicated to him. But if the Joker does not die in this movie and they do greenlight the third one, they did a cast change with Rachel, why wouldn't they do it with the Joker?

Recently, my dad showed me a slideshow of his trek through Nepal about thirty years ago. He went on and on about the locals. The locals of Nepal, more specifically near the the Himalayas, lived in small homes made of corrugated metal sheets. However, they were the friendliest people he'd ever met. Will
January 23, 200817 yr I must admit I'm very surprised. He was only 28. :-( Sad to hear. This gave me quite a shock. Not as shocking as when Steve Irwin died, but still. *sad* *sad* ~Rest in Peace

Not as shocking as when Steve Irwin died, but still. *sad* *sad* ~Rest in Peace Really? I found the fact that he was only 28 to be a huge shock for me. Steve Irwin was older than me, but Heath Ledger was actually two years my junior. That really hit home for me. It's not every day that you stop and think about how incredibly fragile life truly is.

Yes, Brickmaster, you are right, but we feel that we know a star somehow personally through their films and the gossip we've read and heard about them. People who are starving in Africa and in many other parts of the world are anonymous to us. So it is easier for us to ignore and forget that there is suffering everywhere else as well. Ledger's death shows us that you can be successful, rich and everything, but life can still be short. Success and wealth are much wanted things in life, but they are by far not the only things that matter.
January 23, 200817 yr Eurobricks Emperor He was not my favorite actor, but certainly one of the better ones. What a waste. Very sad news.
January 23, 200817 yr Man, as confused about the film as I am now, I still can't get over the shock. Kinda makes you really think whats more important in life doesn't it? The guy has a little daughter who'll never see him again, and his family, imagine the shock they'd be going through. Jeez, thats just terrible, I don't know him, obviously, but everytime a big celeb death happens it makes me realise that this can happen to anyone. I'm sure I'll certainly take something away from this, and thats probably that we should be enjoying those closest to us for as long as we can know them. Sound a bit corny I know, but I mean it. What a sad tragedy. Wow, now I just read that, I feel even more awful then before. The guy has a daughter?!!!! Wow, I feel real sorry for her. Yes, I do have a soft spot. :-P
January 23, 200817 yr After this, they're probably going to (and should) dedicate the movie to him. :'-(
January 24, 200817 yr I have to say, I've not really seen him in anything, but this still comes as a shock, and it's still a tragedy. A lot of people at college were certainly quite affected by the news yesterday to varying degrees, and my friend said her mum was really upset. My thoughts go out to his family, and all those people who've worked with him and who knew him.
January 25, 200817 yr I know there are much more deaths in other countries but it is sad that a young person died, for him and his relatives.
February 7, 200817 yr The medical examiner has determined that Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs: (CNN) - Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription medications including painkillers, anti-anxiety drugs and sleeping pills, the New York City medical examiner's office said Wednesday. "Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," the office said in a short statement. "We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications." Hydrocodone and oxycodone are painkillers. Diazepam is an anti-anxiety drug commonly sold under the brand name Valium; alprazolam is also an anti-anxiety drug sold under such names as Xanax. Temazepam, sold under such names as Restoril and Euhypnos, is a sleeping agent. Doxylamine, an antihistamine, can be obtained over the counter as a sleep aid. May he rest in peace.
