The Kid Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Well, XWYoda, TLC have been known to put random figs in sets before... I'm sure they can throw Ackbar in a RBR ;-) TK Quote
Legoman Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 Well, if you ask me IT CAN NOT BE FROM EP II OR EP III - at that point they didn't even exist i would prefer somthing from the OT becouse, to me it just has to be.i will get really angery if its CW that would be so terrible :-X .It could be EP I but to me OT is star wars. And in somthing this big, it must be OT.i'm really hoping for a RBR / titanive IV *sweet* Prehaps for new figs it could have, a silver 3-PO, a New R2 unit? A new leia, and a new kind of rebel trooper.other than that mabye vader, 2-4 stormies, a imperial captian, R2D2, C-3PO, and 2-4 rebel troopers from bp's thats what, total 12-16 *Drool* Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 RBR at the end of Ep.III, with Yoda, Obi, pregnant Padme, senator Bail Organa (new)... maybe? It's PT, but still the same ship! That would indeed be a freaking sweet set. However even if they ressemble each other, the 2 ships have different design and color pattern so its not the same ship :-P Well, XWYoda, TLC have been known to put random figs in sets before... I'm sure they can throw Ackbar in a RBR ;-) ROFL X-D True true !! Here is the goldebn rule for TLC and SW MFs: expect the impossible X-D And in somthing this big, it must be OT.i'm really hoping for a RBR / titanive IV *sweet* Prehaps for new figs it could have, a silver 3-PO, a New R2 unit? A new leia, and a new kind of rebel trooper.other than that mabye vader, 2-4 stormies, a imperial captian, R2D2, C-3PO, and 2-4 rebel troopers from bp's I concur !! A silver C3PO (same as the new castle helmets) and silver R2 "head" would be freaking sweeeeeet And add a new pearl gold C3PO as well hehe (need that new color !!) + a hotter Leia *wub* *yoda* Quote
hollisbrick Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I think that it should be the Imperial Shuttle that Luke took Vader on to save his body or the Emperor's throne room, extremely detailed of course and NO STICKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 maybe a royal starship set that has eneugh parts to build one of the 4 chrome starships, instructions for all 4 you will get a queen, padmes maidens, typho/panaka, jedi etc... MUST be chrome! chrome... wait thats no right? steel... Quote
HJR-Holland Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) Yes, chrome is a definitive no-no... Production costs for chrome are about 3 to 5 times more than other parts, as far as I know (hence LEGO no longer making them theirselves)... At Lowlug.nl the same question was posed, and after several replies from the fans, most votes go to : 1) a UCS R2-D2 2) a UCS A-wing 3) A death star interior (like the 10123) Edited January 25, 2008 by HJR Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I want big endor battle with scout troopers, stormtroopers, rebels, ewoks, bunker, ewok traps, and munch more! Quote
Clonecommando007 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I've been noticing a really big trend here, and on FBTB: Everyone wants either a Minifigure scale Rebel Blockade Runner playset or Queen Amidalas Royal Starship. It's got to be one of those two I'm thinking. Quote
SWMAN Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 All I know is that it has to be an OT set. Lego started with the OT, and it should celebrate with it. The PT is cool, but the OT still has a ton of sets that need to be made. Plus, with all these CW sets, we need a few OT sets. The one thing that I think it should not be is a USC. They are really cool, but don't appeal to the entire fan population. They are way to big for a lot of builders and take too much time for no playability. While they are cool, I think lego should release something that appeals to a lot more people. I think a new Cloud City might be nice, but I really think a brand new set should be released, not a remake. Here are my choices. 1. Endor Bunker 2. Tantive IV From the looks of it, Tantive IV is pretty popular. I think either this or the Endor Bunker would be amazing. Also, the Endor Bunker would open up a whole new avenue of Battle Packs and smaller sets, as well as bring back the ewok. Quote
General Zen Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I would love an endor bunker, but a rebel blockade runner would definately not dissapoint me! ;-) The bunker is just the pefect set for this. With 150 dollars, you could easily put in speeders, trees, minifigs, and the bunker plus more with the money alloted while providing quality. The blockade runner would be crammed and un-organized like the star destroyer. Endor bunker on! ;-) Quote
Eothein Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Considering it'd be the tenth anniversary I think a model of the most iconic ship of them all. A new Millennium Falcon! Now it's hardly original but I think a new mini fig MF could be very cool. Have actual separate rooms this time unlike the previous version not to mention make room for 4 in the cockpit. This is the set I personally want although the recent UCS MF kinda makes this set redundant. If not this than a Royal Starship set is something I'm in favour of. Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Thats a really good idea Eothein ;-) Like I said TLC need to hit big for that special bday and in order to do that it needs to be really iconic and from ANH ;-) That Falcon looks so puny sitting next to oversized X-wings, Y-wings (and yada yada yada) Since TLC release already every iconic ship (UCS or Mf), its going to be very interesting to see the line up for 2009 especially regarding the OT ;-) *yoda* Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Do you guys really think that LEGO isn't going to get around to doing the RBR? We also know that the rumor mill says we're getting a Death Star later this year. That's why I'm going with the chrome Naboo Starship. It seems like something like the 10th anniversary with a higher price point is the only way that LEGO will make this. The chrome would easily make it worth the $150 price point. They've proven with the Republic Cruiser and the ISD that they can do it justice at $100. Where is the other $50 going to go? Or you get one that's far bigger than the ISD. I also find it funny that the OT people think they're the only ones out there. Yeah, we still need tauntauns and an Endor bunker (we've gotten Ewoks, biker scouts, and an Endor Luke), but there are also a lot of potential sets that haven't even been done once from the PT. Can you honestly say that you wouldn't want a chrome starship? Can you imagine how awesome that would look? Quote
Kowakian Monkey-Lizard Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 To me, the most memorable scene from Star Wars was the Cantina Band scene. I'd really love to see that with all the musicians and crazy-awesome new minifigs. If not that then maybe a Darth Vader bust or the Geononis execution scene with loads of Jedi. KML Quote
JimBee Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 alright, here are my top 5 choices for the 2009 annaversiry set: 5. ArcPilot Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Those would be cool, but Shaak Ti shouldn't be in jedi temple set, she wasn't there, it was someone other Togruta. Quote
SWMAN Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Those would be cool, but Shaak Ti shouldn't be in jedi temple set, she wasn't there, it was someone other Togruta. This is a very debatable topic. If you watch the deleted scenes for ROTS, she is executed by Grievous. But, if you read other stuff, she was in the Temple at the time of the assault, and was killed by Vader. Quote
M4RCU5 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 how about a AAT with 15 droids including pilot and comander in same set as fighter tank tx with 10 clones including pilot and cmanser Quote

Mr Spielbrick Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 (edited) 10 years of LEGO Star Wars.... Hmm.... Something with gravitas, we need. Easy to design such a set, it is not. The Blockade Runner (ANH or RotS) seems to be blockade front runner. Cool idea but the minifig selection for either version is hardly exciting. Geonosian Arena.... Cool idea but the Star Wars line isn't based on scenery, but on vehicles. And since AotC itself isn't even 10 years old when the anniversary takes place, it would be a somewhat debatable choice. A TPM set, perhaps? After all, LEGO SW started when TPM came out. A Naboo cruiser would be cool, but needs to be chrome, which isn't popular with TLC itself. And there's the same problem as with the Runner in terms of minifig selection, if you ask me. Umpteenth edition of the MF, then? No, thanks. Plus, Han's ship would hardly clock in at the 150 dollar mark. I think pretty much everything from the OT has been done to death by now. They even made a T-16 skyhopper for Pete's sake! However, two obvious OT "scenes" are still missed. A minifig (partial) Death Star and the Mos Eisley Cantina with band (note: they did release a version of it with just Han & Greedo). The Death Star has the problem of an overfamiliar minifig line-up. If you want Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie and R2 you can buy the latest X-Wing. Vader, 3PO, Obi-Wan and Tarkin might be a little harder to come by these days, but they're hardly a great addition. We're looking for something exciting and new, right? So how about the Cantina? What? Oh. Yeah. I spy Luke, Han, Chewie and Obi-Wan. Sound familiar? However! There are tons of aliens in the canteen who haven't been done AT ALL by LEGO. That hammerhead thing, the species of the bandmembers, et cetera. Heck, another chance to get Greedo sounds good, right? I'm not at all sure what the Big Tenth Anniversary Set should be. I agree with the 'preferably no Clone Wars set' idea and yeah, an AotC or RotS set would be odd since both films came out after 1999. Which leaves us with TPM and the OT. But, like I said, I feel pretty much everything from those 'sub-themes' has already been done to death. And personally I don't give a damn about UCS sets, so I'm at a loss for idea's myself. If I had to vote, I guess at this point I'd vote for The Mos Eisley Cantina, but to be honest: I'm still waiting for someone to come up with The Perfect Idea. (Edit: Do I qualify for the 'Most Abbreviations In One Post Award'? ;-) ) Edited January 27, 2008 by Mr Spielbrick Quote
JimBee Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 yeah, shaak ti's fate is somewhat unknown. in the deleted scences of ROTS, Greivous Kills her on the invisible hand, but in Lego Star Wars, The Video Game, Obi Wan and yoda see Anakin kill her in the hologram in the jedi temple. But, shes in force unleashed, so my theory is that she was at the temple, or on her way to it (because of the beacon), and escaped before the 501st clones and vader caught her, and hid somewhere afterward, and is now in force unleashed. ... yeah ;-) Quote
ZoL Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 MY TOP TWO: 1) Tantive Five Bourding mini-figs: 5 storm troopers, 5 rebel troopers, Darth Vader, Imperial officer (old hat), R2D2, C-3P0, Proncess Liea, Captain Antilles price: $100-150 USA 2) Canteena mini-figs: 2 sandtroopers, Han, Chewie, Canteena band (5 bith), custermers (5 or 6), Luke, Obi-Won, C-3PO, R2D2 Price: $100 USA Sorry, but I can't choose which one to nomanate. Piranha Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 It has to be something Iconic, and based on when the theme first started For the TPM: Mos Espa Podrace - includes 3-4 podracers - Repair bay with little droids - stand area with Jabba - Starting gate are My reasons for having that one - It has lots of play value and model appeal - It has vehicles and ground type areas to satisfy both needs - SW Lego all got started because of TPM If you want soemthing really iconic For ANH Rebel Blockade Runner - Includes rebel troopers, Leia, C3PO, R2D2, Stormtroopers and Vader - The ship would be similar to the RC but with more opening-up room - Extras would be a detectable pod for 3P0 and R2 Reasons why -The scene that started the SW saga - Very Iconic -Can be a great model and playset Finally this set I have always wanted Jedi Temple - Includes 501st Troopers, Anakin, 2-4 jedi and Bail organa - Large temple with staircase leading up - Detailed open up temple with council room and archive areas - landing platform with Bail Organa's speeder *wub* P Quote
yoda601 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 It's the anniversary of TPM as well. I reckon it should be an Episode 1 set. The Naboo Royal Cruiser sounds like a good idea, but I was thinking maybe something a bit more radical. What about a Theed royal palace playset? I think it would be awesome. Kind of like the Cloud City one, but with the hangar, one ship, the reactor room (where Qui-Gon and Maul die) and the Queen's office and corridor. I think that would be great. Quote
JimBee Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 so... are we sending this to TLC or what? :-D . is a lego rep just going to look at this and tell TLC, and do we need to decide which idea we as a group like best? :-/ X-O X-D Quote
