Dovchenko Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Starships are amazing and all, but unique ideas are what would really make the anniversery tick. How about the Ewok Village?! Bring back Ewoks or new designs. I can imagine a huge and well made Ewok Village with awesome trees, an interesting top, and all of the other neccesary components. Luke, Han, Leia, R2, and C3PO in Endor Style, 5 ewoks, and an un-used Imperial General along with some kind of new trooper. All of them COULD be new figures, there are no need for stickers, and hey, it would be just plain sweet. Also, I'm sure it could come with a vehicle of some sort- two speeder bikes, Endor beasts, and more! Wicket introduction! Awesome secrets! Make it, Lego! Or, that "Shield Reactor" for the Death Star II. A huge radar with many troopers, an Ewok or two, and a bunch of troopers. Vader and palpy. Speaking of Palpy, maybe the Throne Room! That would be awesome- a detailed core, the throne, loads of unique troopers and all of that. It's signature too, of course! Quote
M'Kyuun Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) While I revile the Ewoks nearly as much as Jar-Jar, I can see some playability in an Ewok Village. I do like your thinking, sdpirate. An anniversary set should be unique, and your ideas certainly fit the bill. However, like many of the suggestions on this board, the mini-fig suggestions are unrealistic in their numbers. I could see C-3PO, R2-D2, Han, Leia, Luke, and maybe 2 ewok figs as a more realistic estimate. When you guys dream about sets in general, and minifigs in particular, you dream big! :-D Personally, I'd prefer to get maybe three new minifigs in a well made set, be it a ship, a base, or an elaborate playset like Cloud City than a mediocre set with a lot of figs, the majority of which I already have. I'd definitely prefer a Tantive IV or a Tyderium shuttle or Amidala's ship over a tree village(my own personal taste..the suggestion is a good one). While I find the Endor Bunker somewhat limited in playability, it's really the only base type set I can think of that could be done well at this price point...a good Hoth set would be better done in modular sets, as well as the Death Star. A Yavin Base on a small scale could be feasible, but with limited space inside, if indeed it was built to be an opening set with a detailed interior. For a $150 price tag equating approx 1500-1600 pcs (exception: the Green Grocer is also $150 USD and contains over 2000 pcs, so there's always hope that part count will be this high), I think we'll get a small, decently detailed base with approx 5-6 figs, or a ship similar in size to the fig-scale ISD, but with much more detail and features and approx 4-5 figs. And hey guys, if I sound harsh, I don't mean to. I just become somewhat incredulous when I read posts by LEGO fans who I assume buy LEGO sets with some regularity proposing set ideas with minifig counts well into the teens and beyond. While it'd be pretty cool to have sets like that, it's just not feasible for LEGO to do, and generally I'm happy with what they do include. Anyway, if I offend, I also tender my apology in utmost earnest and hope we can all still "Play Well" together. :-P Edited March 12, 2008 by M'Kyuun Quote

I find it funny to read those unrealistic sets including so many MFs its totally unfeasable :-D But after a while you want to scream "hey guys compare what you wrote to what TLC ever produced !! Whats wrong with the picture ?" I don't agree with you regarding the non playability of an endor bunker: it would be very similar in size and MF numbers to that sweet Hoth Door Base: a bunker door for our happy MFs to try and enter. Ah yes we need playability: add Ewoks booby traps and catapult (yeay one of my favorite Lego word X-D !!) And yes we do need vehicles, fair enough, then add 1 or 2 speeder bikes + an Ewok glider !! The only problem woyuld be the Mfs: we need Han, Leia and R2, and Widget + add 2 Ewoks and 2 scouties (feels right in number I think) While I revile the Ewoks nearly as much as Jar-Jar Now THAT I do find offensive :-D And apology accepted :-D I wold love new Ewok BPs like I stated previously in this thread especially in the new colors 8- Quote
jedikermit Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Endor Battle Packs would rock my world. *y* *y* *y* Quote
M'Kyuun Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I wore my heart out on my sleeve a bit back there, and I guess I stepped on a few toes. :-$ Sorry to all. Well, I still dislike Ewoks, but I don't let it stop me from buying the sets they're in! :-D And, If TLC does make an Ewok Village sometime in the future, I'll not only be happy for all you Ewok fans out there, but I'll be adding one to my collection as well. Actually, if they do release one, I hope the faces are painted this time around. As for the Endor Bunker..I was only thinking of this little bunker building with sliding doors and not much else, besides maybe a simple "exploding" gimmick to re-enact the movie scene. I gave no thought to all the shenanigans between the Ewoks, Rebels, and Imperial troops in the nearby woods. So, I stand corrected on the issue of playability Much to learn, I still have. Quote
commandosevy Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 (edited) A part of the death star would be a good idea with a shuttle. It could be a sort of Emperor getting off with 20 Imperials in two lines like in Ep.6. And how a bouts a Yavin thing with 2 A-wings and 4 rebel pilots with one snowspeeder (something small that holds two people) and two rebel engineers. Dont forget a Endor battle pack with 3 ewoks and 2 rebel scouts (camo)with a catopult and gliders Thats only if Lego does OT If they do PT then... A gungan vs. AAT set with like four gungans,2 naboo horse things and two droids. And one H shaped carriers like in Ep.1. with 3 of those alien things , 4 pilot BDs 20-30 BDs, and 2 STAPs, with a vulture droid, and a AAT. With a Theed solider battle pack, with 4 Theed soliders. swan45 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Well, my idea would be the battle of Geonosis. It wuold include an techno union ship, smaller version of an AT-TE,Smaller version of the republic gunship, hailfire droid and some clones from EP2 and a lot of droids. It may be to much, but i think this would be great *sweet* Quote

To expand alittle on it how about it including a LAAT/c droping off an AT-TE and a Techno Union Starship with a Sonic Cannon (the turret that shoots Green blobs) for minifigs how about 4 original mold Phase 1 Clones, a Clone Commander, Clone Pilot for the LAAT/c and a Jedi Jimi; and for the CIS some Sand Red-esqe colored Battle Droids, a few SBDs, and the new version of the Droideka. Genosis Battle v.2: an SPHA-T with the mobile command station and a bigger version of the Hailfire Droid. For minifigs 2 regular troopers, a Clone Commander, Clone Captain, Yoda, and some Sand Red-esqe BDs, and some SBDs. -Tarfful Quote

In my opinion 2 has better gameplay but I like 1's levels more. I also dislike to say the least the Geonosis map in 1 and 2, just about the only good thing it has goin' for it is the fact that you play as Phase 1 clones in the 2, in 1 you're always Phase 1s. Sorry for goin' off topic :-$ , but this topic hasn't really been that popular for a while now. -Tarfful Quote

JimBee Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 hmmm... perhaps a chrome naboo ship from each PT movie would be cool, like the royal starship from TPM, the luxury cruiser from AOTC, and the senator ship from ROTS?? that would be extremely expensive to make though, and even more so for consumers. and making them bley would be horrible! *sick* im just hoping for the royal starship now, and the Jedi Temaple and Endor base for later... *wink* Quote

Wonderful. Thanks for asking for our input. Shameless plug, but please make the 501st bp... That being addressed... What would be a memorable set for Lego to make in celebration of it's "Tenth" year. The first set I encounter, and the one that got me hooked on Lego's still proudly sets in honor on my shelf next to it's UCS brother and the recent remake. I am referring to the Naboo Stat fighter. Now, I understand that there are currently 3 versions of this vessel, so I am suggesting here, for your consideration, A minifig scale model UCS J-Type 327 Nubian royal starship. This set would include Obiwan, Quigon Jinn, Anakin, R2, Royal Guards, Ric Olie, Jar-Jar, and the much sought after,(was on all the original packaging) Queen Amidala herself. Also, for fun, maybe a Darth Maul. It must be done, at least large sections, in chrome. Possible play feature would include Queens throne room, R2 mechanical Room, Pilot area. Then, in subsequent years, a line of these UCS ships, one released at say Christmas time, featuring the standout Large vehicle to that scale, for each movie. Not often I get to quote such a great mind ( *hmpf_bad* *wink* ), but I whole heartedly think this would be a very meaningful addition. Now, I must fully admit, I am not the biggest "Phantom" fan, and would also concede to wanting the Jedi Temple with a whole lota 501st loven going on, but this set is markable appropriate and so very long over due. It fits the price point perfectly, and would sell really well if marketed to the big "ten-O" celebration for TPM. And who would turn down the influx of Chrome pieces into there Lego fleets. I would also like to add a queens dressing room slash wardrobe... featuring each and every costume Padme wore in TPH. I know it sounds weird... kinda of... but it would be nice so that if you wanted to recreate a scene in the movie, you wouldn't have to fudge it. Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I'd be more than willing to accept the price increase for a chrome Naboo starship. They've proven they can do a ship justice at $100 (Republic Cruiser, ISD, and Falcon) and then tack on the extra cost for the chroming process. They said up to $150, so they could certainly pull it off if they wanted to, because I'd be willing to bet that the chrome wouldn't cost more than $50. That would be a thing of absolute beauty. Heck, even in the LSW video games it looks great. Quote
