my battlebot is replica of "icewave".

Icewave is heavywaight class battlebot, use horizontal blade powered by 2-strok combustion engine.

So it's very powerful and this is why I love icewave.

Anyway, I will use 2 rechargible batterybox, 1 RC buggy motor for weapon, 1 M motor and 1 PF switch for weapon control, 2 L motor for move.

brickwave.png.57819165ecde1b66a3683c34b09cb95b.png Yes. this is how to work my "brickwave".

Basically, icewave drive it's blade in the middle of body, so very smooth turntable need to blade rotation.

LoL. I find turntable turn extremely smooth. Not modifited or sanding turntable. It's just rotation allmost 1.5 year. So it sanded itself.

rotateblade.jpg.304abc831a11d82f6011ae836de1acbd.jpg Hear's current build prograss. Gear is 40:56 from RC motor's fast output.

I will upload more here when make.

Icewave always impressed me, are you planning to but motor and weapon BB on the top of the build like the real one? it will be really awesome, also good luck with the blade it is really large, but you had a good idea powering the blade with a separate BB, RC motors has got a really high power consumption, the only way to make a bot with a single BB and one of them is hack the battery box thermal cut-off, but the buggy motor is so powerful that its consumption can melt cables if stalled, don't try!

Looking forward for progress!

Thanks for reply.

Um... bascily no. my Brickwave is little different build with real one. I plan place weapon battery and main battery and receiver on top of robot, and all motor place on buttom of robot.

Maybe some LDD prograss will upload here today.b

p.s: blade size is 3 of 5x7 fream on side of turntable. I know it's bigger than 45L but I think it will fit if I put blade diagonal.

Would it not be easier to have two separate systems? I. E:

System 1 = Battery>IR>Lmotors.

System 2 = Battery>IR>Buggy.

Ya, I do not understand you have the m motor connected to the switch which controls the buggy motor.  Why not just connect the buggy motor to the receiver directly.

I think that way but soon cancled. Because buggy motor use so much power. reciver has currant remit and buggy motor easly cut off by reciver.

If i use Sbrick, can use simple way but Sbrick's mobile phone control is damn to me and I dont have any game controller can use Sbrick.

And have another probram. PF reciver can't fix rever on potion. It make hard to control robot.

Despite BB and receivers protection being both 250mah (unless using v2 receivers that has a 750mah one) ir power consumption and circuits will result in a less power opupts so you're right

I have both sbrick app (with custom profile) and game controller but it is too weird to drive with, I really prefer lego remotes and a sensible feedback

Same thing as before but I can't understand the problem, remember that remote customization could be really useful on logo battle bots and also while controlling the switch make sure not to stall the motor and to prevent motor inertia from moving the switch to neutral when you release the remote lever (so an end stop and a fraction gear could be useful to control "power" "stop" and not clockwise, center clockwise and stop)

Hear's prototype prograss in LDD. I can't find RC motor, receiver, batterybox in LDD.

cap1.png

And this is side view how to connect upper fream. connected by 2 1x10 technic brick.

I tried build this and find some probram. This prototype use so much 1x2 with 2 holes. used 10 of that to connect.

Another prograss appired!

Ok. I make prototype full.

Drive is by 2 L motor geared down 1:1.67.

First prototype estimation

Probram

1. Blade is to weak and droop. So sometime it scratch 40tooth drive gear. Need improve that.

2. Ok. Switch drive by motor is stupied think. I will remove that and put RC motor insted. So blade drive 2 RC motor.

3. Driving base is good but to high. But this is can't fix. Because of RC motor's hight.

Looks good overall but how it steers? Because I always had lots of problems with 4wd steering (with different motors and gearing, like 1:1  xl or 1,6:1 M)

Drivetrain is same to both side wheels. L motor->12t->20t->bevel 12t->bevel 12t->wheel. shaft under L motor is connected front and rear wheels.

So no probram to steering that.

To be exact, steering like tank.

Great! Looking forward to a video, but I recommend not going to hight with weight, I know L motors are 150% more powerful than M but they always have limits.

Ok I will try uplode video when fix that thing. But, I can't edit video.

Wild prograss is appired!

(Sorry. I can't turn picture.)

img_2717.jpg

Modifited 2 probram. Now blade is not droop and not scratch 40t drive gear.

img_2718.jpg

And blade is now spining by 2 RC motor. In picture, drive by battery box but batbox's currant limit is not enough drive 2 RC motor.

So, blade is stoped soon. I tried find v2 resiver but can't find now.

Ok. I tried v1 resiver. Drive fast and not stopped but I think v2 resiver has more fast speed.

img_2719.jpg

Under the modifited chassis. Remove and place one more RC motor in place.

miss upload

Using a buggy motor>40t gear>turntable is exactly how I drove the disk of my hypnodisk, and it works very well , drove the buggy motor directly from a V2 IR reciever.

V2 and V1 difference us only on "power" sustained, while v1 will cut off power before battery cut off, the v2 will use maximum power provided by the batteries, but no increase in voltage so I don't think you'll gain speed unless your motor have an high load and require more power to run at full rpm

So your mean no probram if I use v1 resiver?

make a try if you already own one, but don't expect the bot to be really faster but at least more powerful, also if v1 works good i would suggest to use them instead of v2 and maybe overload the batteries, mainly because if you shut down the main battery box you'll loose control of the other receiver too

Don't warry about shut down batterybox. Weapon and drive is use sprate batbox.

Very short prograss here.

No picture this time.

I tried weapon's 2 RC motor drive using V1 resiver and found probram. :hmpf_bad:

After turn allmost 1 min, resiver is worm... *huh*

Don't have place for 3 resiver and v2 resiver still can't find AND sbrick custom profile manegure has so many lag in my pc.

Well, anyway, finish made mechanical part(without that resiver) now design time.

Using worm as receiver is an unique idea, but not surprisingly disfunctional.

You might double check your texts before posting out.

Finish him!

Ok. FINIALLY FIND V2 RESIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And finish make design. Let's see finish robot.

img_0009.jpg

Top view. Blade size is 47stud but fit well put diagonal.

img_0010.jpg

Side view. not over 30stud.

img_0011.jpg

Now front has some flow like real icewave.

img_0012.jpg

Wheel protaction. Nothing to say.

img_0013.jpg

Battery cover closed(can't fine 1x7 light green beam).

img_0014.jpg

Battery cover opened.

sponserd by 'Nitro Race Team'

propotion

drive-v1 resiver with 2 L motor drive like tank

weapon-v2 resiver with 2 RC motor geared down 40-56(turntable)

Now need think how to make video.

Looks really well, good job on it!

Waiting for the video, my only note is to make it horizontally instead, not like the pictures.

looks really good and even powerful, looking forward to the video!

Nice progress here!

Unfortunately, the bot has to be max 45L wide, deep and high. So no using diagonal measurements. This was covered in Contest discussion topic on page two.
