I doubt there is a distinct cultural identity that is significantly different from Germany for lux tho

So you'll get one character from small countries (so, for example, a Dutch person in clogs - population 17m) but then also only one from UK (pop 65m), one from Germany (pop 81m), one from France (pop 67m), and probably one from the USA (pop 320m). And if they go for something very stereotypical from just one region within the country so, for example, a Lederhosen guy to represent the whole of Germany then it can be quite annoying if you don't like the Bavarian image of Germany.

Of course, really small countries like Slovenia or Luxembourg would get forgotten completely, but then these are often smaller (in population) than many capital cities.

 

Well, I'm originally from a "really small country" with a population under 5 million. It's definitely less than many capital cities. Still there are a lot of Lego fans there who would be disappointed.

Anyways, I just think that 16 spots doesn't even come close to the 100+ countries that actually exist.

But no matter what the costume is, the point of a costumed series is that they're costumes- so I wouldn't expect convincing guises I could pretend were real characters. Unless they get really creative and find a way to tickle me, I'm not a fan of a parts series.

An Alien Costume minifigure would be perfect. More so now, that the X Files is coming back for a new season later 2017 early 2018.

Is this a wishlist topic or can we stick to rumours discussion for S18? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, we should get more information when the LEGO Ninjago Movie minifigures come out already... and so far, all that we know about S18 are merely speculation. Am I right?

That would be so sweet! Hopefully easily adjusted to a real spider minifig rather than a costume. And with new arm pieces.

More or less. Some folks in-the-know have already seen the figure list, so we get to speculate while they occasionally slide us a crumb of info. We're a full year from release, with two waves of figures in front of these, including those Ninjago Movie figures. I bet we get an unveil of those around the time of SDCC.

I don't expect a spider costume to be very scary, though. Probably a fully-exposed face and a goofy mask or something.

Yeah. Normally getting two of the same costume in CMF is uncommon.
