Using BoBS lore instead of real world lore will help you get in character sooner.) I think if you post in the Sea Rats intro thread next you can introduce yourself to your future teammates: Quote

I'm sure the Sea Rats will be happy to have you. Evancelt had some good feedback. Basically, make sure all story details tie into the BoBS world rather than the real world. If you want to keep things vague for a bit until others can help you learn the lay of the land (er, sea! ). Also, go ahead and repost your sigfig info in the Intro thread that Evancelt linked, that's the place to get all the intro stuff going. Quote

Sirharrisonclay Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Hello, I am new here. I have been creating age of sail Mocs for a while now and a lot of them fit into the different factions (excluding maybe Sea Rats). I just recently found this group and figured I could contribute. I currently have 7 ship Mocs as well as a fort and town moc. How do you recommend choosing a faction and sig fig if you are setup for multiple factions? Thanks for the input. Quote

Glad to hear you're interested! I would recommend reading up on each of the factions (via the faction threads. I'd choose which faction to join based on what culture/values you liked the most and of course what uniform colour you fashion the most Quote

Welcome to our little world! Let’s start from an important point: apart maybe for military/state buildings, you can basically build in any settlement on the map, regardless your faction. Maybe add a little backstory, but an Eslandolan merchant living in a Oleonese settlement, or an Oleonese missionary on a Corrish island, are perfectly fine things! Apart from that, think a little about: -what you like the most, or what you plan to build. This is not a general limitation (we have warehouses, temples and academias in all the factions), but can guide you in your choice. -your minifig collection (for me that was a starting point), even if you don’t have necessarily to include men in uniform in your builds. If you think about building mostly military things, and you have an army of redcoats and no bluecoats at all, maybe think about Corrington and not Oleon (or vice versa) -the way you see your character more: you can make him be whoever you want, but a priest or a nobleman would fit better in Oleon, a scientist or explorer in Corrington, a businessman or a merchant in Eslandola. BTW, you can also have builds with no direct links with your main character. -Oleon is clearly the best (absolutely unbiased opinion)! I hope this can be helpful. Quote

I’ve got equal numbers of minifigs to fit in each faction, so color shouldn’t matter too much. I’ve read up on each faction. Ill consider their core values then for deciding maybe. 56 minutes ago, Keymonus said: Hello! Welcome to our little world! I’ve read up on the factions and have minifigs in equal amounts to fit in each. As I mentioned, I’ve been building in the color schemes for the factions for a while, just didn’t know this group existed. I can always make adjustments, but currently the setup I have that fits the factions are a castle/town/dock, and merchant vessel for team red (Corrington in this case), a 28 gun galleon ship (not including swivel guns for blue Oleon, and a 15 or so gun frigate for green as well as a smattering of galleys and small ships. Regarding the sigfig, I can come up with anything, I think it just depends on which faction ultimately makes the cut. Quote

In addition to the faction threads, also check here for info about the game and factions: And Keymonus has some good advice, particularly these two points: On 7/28/2023 at 1:31 PM, Keymonus said: -what you like the most, or what you plan to build. And you can always ask questions in the intro thread as well: Quote
