POTC 6 is my last hope There's still only whispers, and none particularly reliable. It seems like the reboot is still going forward without Johnny, despite rumors they were trying to get him back for it. Word on the town is it will follow a young group of pirates led by Anne Bonny, Ayo Edebiri is being eyed for the role. Make of that what you will. Quote

This is a bit off topic but future set speculation is related to my question. I currently have a x2 31109 MOC as a placeholder for an imperial ship. I've modded a bit to have better masts and interior, however the brick sails, and rubber rigging still remains as well as the red/yellow/green colors which doens't really fit. I have been eyeing to part out the gorgeous 10210 which I have wanted for ages. However it would probably cost me around $200 which isn't awful but I've already sunk a bit of money into my 31109 moc. However with the new BDP program there are two absolutely gorgeous imperial flagships which I'm confident atleast one of will be selected. If that is the case should I a) continue investing into my 31109 moc and swap colors to imperial ones, make custom sails, add proper rigging, and attempt to somehow raise the deck (difficult to do as my part collection isn't as big as it once was) since the current deck is significantly smaller than the flagship or barracuda which is a shame B) Part out the 10210 with a few color changes such as a medium nougat hull and custom sails( Not shelling out $45 for a brown hull that is ridiculous) OR C) wait for lego to release their own brand new imperial flagship? Either BDP or as a set? What do y'all think the chances of a soldier ship coming any time soon??? I'm honestly a bit impatient... If the PoBB came out I would not complain haha would mod that instead into an imperial flagship I bought two 31109 just for that reason, to modify, I also was inspired by Barracuda bay’s ship build and managed to combine some building and brick elements to the 31109 ship. I used a prior pirate ship, i think the red beard bounty for the sails that fit on my ship. With that mention a lot of members on this forum recommended and showed me how to make sails or can make them for you. 31109 is just a bunch of 1x1 bricks that are red, green and gold, you can re color them easily if you order the same amount through PaB, but you are right, redoing the 31109 ran me close to 150$ in extra parts just for that reason. Changing the hull is the most complicated one because they are stud narrower than using the old pre fabs and that would require redoing the entire ship so I left it brick built. The 31109 is a fun build but I always disliked the brick sails, however waiting on an imperial ship any time soon could take years and by that time you could rebuild your custom ship to your liking time and time again!!! Thank you for the detailed response! I ended up doing just that, combining two 31109! I made paper sails and PAB'd additional pieces to make a cabin identical to Brick beard's bounty while modifying the deck and below it! I will be showing it off on this forum as soon as I take pictures. It's slightly smaller than the barracuda. It ain't no 10210 but it will do! I'm super happy with it! Quote
Lion King Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 I would love to get imperial flagship with fabric sails for sure. I never like brick sails an all. Quote

I commend you for your work on the deck below!!! There’s no room and if you made room that’s creative, I’m looking forward to your final work. I ended up covering the exposed deck with those grates that you find in Blackseas barracuda remade ship. I honestly bought two 31109’s because I liked the pirate cabin, I legit bought furniture and expanded some details inside but I ended up loving the ship that I combined them a bit more. I like the size, it’s a perfect companion to the other ships. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 The Lion Knights Castle was released in 2022, then we got Majisto's Magical Workshop as a GWP last year. Eldorado Fortress was released last year, so I could well see a Pirates GWP this year. I really would like a small boat for the new Blue Coats. And a small pirates island would be nice, too. What do you think? Quote

What do you think? Well we still have 5 months left, so sure it is possible. Though I wouldn´t take the Lion Knights Castle in relation with the Majisto GWP, both had nothing to do with each other and drawing conclusion from there to the Eldorado fortress won´t lead anywhere. Anyways I would be surprised if we wouldn´t get a castle related GWP this year either since those seemed to do quite well (though probably to black friday that isn´t really hard) and for Pirates we just got the legoland exclusive Set, so getting another Pirate related GWP doesn´t seem unlikely either, so lets just hope we get both. We got a castle Set the last two years and this still wouldn´t mean we will get one this year either. It would surprise me if they don´t make one, but we will have to see. On the other side we got two Space GWPs but with their theme spanning space headtheme that doesn´t mean anything either, but would at least hint that retro-themed GWPs are definitely working, so I will wait for more of those to pop up. Yperio_Bricks Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 I think Lego Pirates is in a very bad state and I am very pessimistic for the future. Every few years they trow us a single big treat to cash in on peoples nostalgia, but that's about it. Meanwhile other companies are pumping out pirate set after pirate set. So there are people who buy these sets, right? There is market for pirate themed sets, right? I want to understand! TLG do you hear me? Quote

Before we had many years without any sets and now we've had several since 2020 and currently we have two available (Creator Pirate Ship and Eldorado Fortress). Quote

First and foremost I had Bluebrixx in mind because their videos regularly pop up in my YT feed. I guess because I watch so many Lego videos They have a whole Pirates series with various ships, islands, expansian packs, parts packs and minifigure packs. That is something impossible for Lego. As far as I understand all their islands are modular and can be combined with each other. You can take the cliff walls off and combine everything as you like. Could you imagine getting a battlepack with 8 [sic!] minifigures and accessories from Lego? Heck, even the wrecked ship is modular and gets and expansion pack! Then there are the Mouldking sailing ships and all the stuff from Chinese companies. I just watch the reviews at YT for entertainment because I want to stay up to date and because I am interested to see all the Pirates stuff that Lego is incapable of producing. As a moccer i have no interest in the sets as such. It's just a good opportunity to get the parts and minifigs. That's why i selfishly want Lego to produce such sets Quote

It's a reasonable consumer demand. Does Bluebrixx use authentic LEGO parts of do source parts from third-party manufacturers? Quote

I think its a preliminary to getting a set like with Lord Of the Rings. We never got the Flying Dutchman and that deserves to be a £300 set and then we need a D2C Black Pearl for something around the same price as imo they are by far the two most iconic ships of the franchise. I'd be happy to see some smaller sets but honestly a theme like this suits one a year huge ship kinda deal. Quote

I hope so much for a redesign of the 6274 Caribbean Clipper for 2025 to go very well with the new Eldorado Fortress! Quote

I hate to dispel your hopes! But here's what we know: The blue coat soldier parts have been removed from the BrickLink Designer Series 6 palette, which seemingly coincides with the retirement of Eldorado Fortress later this year. Therefore, if a Caribbean Clipper remake were on the horizon, it would make more sense to keep the blue coats right where they are. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Thanks for pointing this out, @Mister Phes ! 🙂 Oh, that's really, really bad news. A new Caribbean Clipper would have had been perfect to go with the new Eldorado Fortress and would have had been a nice System scale sailing boat for the Pirates Theme anyway. So I fear that Lego won't release any Pirates sets in the next years and esp. none with soldiers (esp. Bluecoats). Quote
