Johnny 5 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Dude I love it and I must have it. I am super excited about all the moduler building styles that TLG is embracing. Looking foward to more. *y* *y* Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 OMG! Thats beautiful! *wub* This would look good with my Cafe Corner and Market Street... if I had them :'-( But anyways, it's awesome! Very detailed... I like it better than Market street. Cafe Corner is still probably DA best though. -ZotS Quote
smiley905 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 uhh it looks alot like cafe corner.. but still prety cool *y* Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 This is an absolutely fantastic set! Thanks for bringing us the pictures *wub* I can't say anything about it that hasn't been said already, though I do have to disagree about Market Street. That's the only one of the three I won't have picked up. It just seemed a bit cheaper or more rushed than Cafe Corner or this set, especially for that price. This however... *wub* *wub* And how can I not like a set that's about green? *wub* Quote
dunamis Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Looks great and I can't wait to get it. If it is anything like Cafe Corner, it will be in high demand when first released. If I can get it early enough, I'll review it like I did with Cafe Corner and Market Street. Quote
highlandcattle Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 That's the only one of the three I won't have picked up. It just seemed a bit cheaper or more rushed than Cafe Corner or this set, especially for that price. Dude, the designer died during the production process(maybe it wasn't finished at all. And don't forget that the Market street was a factory box whilst GG and CC (OMG we gonna need a list for al these abreviations) are "real" lego sets. Maybe there were limitations in pieces. Kanal, Thanks a lot. Do you work for flextronic? Don't risk your job! But do keep the pics flowing *wub* Quote
Kliq Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Oh my goodness. If I wasn't so sure I just wet myself I think I'd be jumping around right now. :-D This set looks absolutely remarkable. How freak'n awesome! Words can't describe the beau... ANYWAY, a def. must buy for any LEGO fan regardless if you are collecting the modular series. I do, and it would be a cold day in hell before I even hesitate to purchase this. *wub* Quote
lelee Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Simply bloody beautiful. TLC can have all my money, i dont care. Cant wait for this! Quote
SalvoBrick Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I think this is it? Is this it? This is a set I've created with LDD and uploaded on the Lego Factory website :) Quote
brickzone Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 This is just stunning! I love the bay windows on multiple floors standing out from the building proper. The balconies also look very nice, more substantial than those of Market Street. Sand green is very nice! I wonder what all food the grocers has; it looks to have food inside (see through the window) as well as on the street. Also curious as to the detail at the back (shown in a small panel). Could it possibly be a fire escape or is there not enough there for it to be that? The level of detail is astounding. I think this set may well outdo Caf Quote
Kanal-K1 Posted January 26, 2008 Author Posted January 26, 2008 Kanal, Thanks a lot. Do you work for flextronic? Don't risk your job! But do keep the pics flowing *wub* No, not me, but many people works, and I know some of them.. *sweet* Quote
christopher110 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 This is a must-buy set for 2008... My wishing list is as follows: 1) 10185 Green grocer 2) town plan 3) 4996 beach house 4) 2008 castles.... 5) 2008 exo-force especially the green set and the purple set 6) 2008 Harry Potter (if there is any of it) 7) 7662 Trade Federation MTT Have to think of some ways to increase my side incomes or else I wouldn't have the money to buy myself a new handphone/cellphone...no money for my new bedroom renovation..... Locust Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) hi guys, sorry for this basic question as i am really new to Lego. i know about cafe corner and market street and they are both really great sets. now this green grocer is another good one. but may i know what line are these 3 sets under? i mean is there a particular theme or name for this line? i cant seem to be able to find the category under official site of lego. and i would also like to know if there are any other sets produced under the same line, cause i am sort of a completionist and would like to get the rest under the same theme. once again, apologise for this 'newbie' question. =) Edited January 26, 2008 by Locust Quote
simonwillems Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 What a great set, love the pram, balconies, and the rounded look of the front little tower. Another expensive to-buy set.... And I haven't even bought Cafe Corner yet. *y* hi guys, sorry for this basic question as i am really new to Lego.i know about cafe corner and market street and they are both really great sets. now this green grocer is another good one. but may i know what line are these 3 sets under? i mean is there a particular theme or name for this line? i cant seem to be able to find the category under official site of lego. and i would also like to know if there are any other sets produced under the same line, cause i am sort of a completionist and would like to get the rest under the same theme. once again, apologise for this 'newbie' question. =) First of all: welcome to Eurobricks! The line of these sets can be found under 'Shop at Home Exclusives' on the official Legosite, or the Marketstreet also as 'Factory' I don't think there's an entire theme named after it. Cafe Corner, Marketstreet and this new Greengrocer are the only sets in this modular buildings serie so far, but who knows what will come next... You have to have quite an extensive wallet as far as completion of the serie goes, these sets are not cheap but really worth the money. Don't be sorry for posting sensible questions, I hope this helps! :-) Quote
Athos Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Are you suggesting that the Green Grocer has to be green? While I'd never heard the term before, I'd assumed it mean something like that. I'd also assumed, however, that with a name like Green Grocer, there'd be a lot more green in it. Not that I'm complaining (wouldn't want to get accused of being a downer). It still looks like a nice set, just not exactly what I'd envisioned. Steve Quote
Wout Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 This is a terriffic design. A great substitute to Cafe C., Market Street and Town Plan, even a young woman with princess hair, a woman with Umbridge hair and a little boy. should there be a little baby in the cart? only the back is a little grim, but I cannot see the good with that small scale. If there's really a shop inside the building ,that would be really good. Quote
Skinny Boy Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Whoah. Is that a fire escape in the back? I have to get this. Quote
Hinckley Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 This looks better than Cafe Corner. 8- Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Thx Kanal, that set looks amazing! I never got around to buying Cafe Corner of Market Street, so I will be sure to get this one. Anyone know when it comes out? I know! Well, im also gonna get this one, even if my wallet wants to murder me because of it. :-P *wub* Quote
Dr. Brick Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Why only TLG couldn't have done that set as a "normal" City set?! :-( That would have been amazing like the new Town Plan *wub* ! Then I would have bought it, too. - But I still stay optimistic and hopefully there will be some nice City sets similar to this one (of course much smallish and with interior :-) ) in the future. I agree, smaller cheaper sets but same line would be nice. Not that I'm complaining,... :-D But I do believe this set has an interior, look through the ground floor window. Dr. Brick Quote
highlandcattle Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Lucky I'm getting a tax refund in February. (hooray for that) I was sad that I didn't get to buy the last HP castle on sale ,because I so wanted this hair piece. No it is in a set I actually like. Hooray for lego. Was this also a Jamie berard design? His blog hasn't been updated since march 2007. At least not public. Quote

However, Market Street comes from the "LEGO Factory" line, and Cafe Corner and Green Grocer are part of "Creator". Edited January 26, 2008 by Mr Hobbles Quote
NATO93 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 (edited) After some ono-needed arguing, It took about 8 people to finally say that... This set is awesome! *wub* Good job TLC! Sure looks like im going to have to save up for this one... This is the best direction TLC has headed in since the early 90s. :-D Edited January 27, 2008 by NATO93 Quote
jonwil Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 This is a NICE set. Look at all the various window pieces (including the new windows from the 2008 sets) My hope is that they make the windows easier to get than buying multiples of the beach house (or buying an expensive set like this green grocer) Quote
