Freddie Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Even if that fire department or police station was styled in a way to match Cafe Corner and Green Grocer? My beef with TLCs sets is that they've never really looked like realistic fire or police departments. To be honest, I'd probably buy it anyway. It's just that I would like to see something else other than a hospital or a fire house or some other kind of police/health/fire/emergency/you get the point, when TLC has the chance to do just that. A "Barber/Bakery Block", for example - something that's more or less nationally neutral and takes a dash at normal, everyday life. Like a caf Quote
AgentRick Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Good news about the date, now we can wait less X-D . On the topic of a fire station, I actually built one with most of the parts from the one that came out last year and parts from my collection( I liked the original version, but after time it broke apart(I put it next to my door and my brother kept slamming it into little bits :'-( )). Sure, it's only 2 stories high, but i still managed to fit in a few more things the original didn't have! *y* Quote
yellost Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Would this be what your looking for? Funny, I was thinking exactly the same thing when I read taht post great work/find, by the way. Quote

Matn Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I will buy it certainly, at the end of April or so. Together with the Market Street. You guys are giving me much ideas. I have just rebuild the 05-06 Fire Station and I was going to rebuild the hospital and police station. Now I will rebuild them... But in the Modular style! Then I will have a city in the future with cool looking buildings in Modular Style. Quote
GRogall Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 How does TLC price things? Would the US price be a straight conversion of Euros to dollars, or do they have a different pricing structure? Would it be also available on Shop@Home by the same date?I'm just about to order the Market Street and this could make me wait for 3 more weeks to save the shipping costs :-D The set will be available both through shop@home and the Lego Stores I don't know about the US price but there usually the same as the european prices, but you might want to call a Lego Store in your area to find out! ;-) Quote

Janey Red Brick Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) Hi Janey Red Brick and welcome to Eurobricks! *y* Do you know that it is the mallet or is it just a guess of yours? I can hardly discover what parts TLC used... 8-| Thanks for the welcome, and yes I know for sure. A closer look at the new pics in this thread, or a search at BrickShelf will show you better and clearer pics that will remove any doubt you might have. I must say... I think part of the intrigue of these sets for me is how pieces are used in unusual ways. Edited February 8, 2008 by Janey Red Brick Quote

Sir von Lego Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 That means that the price in US dollars will indeed be around 149.99! X-O Tis' a tad expensive, I mean it's okay for the Town Plan to cost as much but this? Oh, who am I kidding, I'll pay millions for this beauty *wub* Hi, what a fantastic set!!!! In my opinion, for the huge piece count it is really "cheap". It includes nearly 500 pieces more than the town plan, but has the same price level!! Great!! Can't wait to get this! greetings Hendrik Quote

paksu Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Brick Town Talk managed to get a little interview with Jamie Berard, the set designer. *y* Green Grocer is the second of three models that I proposed when pitching the idea for the modular building system. However, I originally wanted to call it Green Gables, but our legal department advised against that. We mostly use the internet for our initial research. However, we Quote
hoang Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Wow, I love that it comes with an interior. Ill definitely have to put an interior in my Cafe Corner set now. Ill probably snag some of Mel Krutzfeldt's LEGO Factory sets. http://factory.lego.com/gallery/?parameter...87-bb091f051fce definitely some great items i will be looking for to have or make myself for the other 2 models that don't have interiors Quote
