Piranha Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 (edited) And now for a new idea*** The Car Contest - Build a real life car in minifig scale! - Can range from Ferrari's to Camaro's - The 2 best designs win! Yes, the sigfig car contest sounds funner and cooler but, I thought this one would be a more serious contest for the town forum *sweet* P Edited March 8, 2008 by Piranha Quote
SlyOwl Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Drawing on RC's Steampunk Impulse contest, perhaps a Pirate Impulse contest, where participants build a Pirate MOC with less than 50 pieces. Prizes could include the standard Piratical bonanza, maybe a little less. This would generate a lot of interest as you don't need extensive time, parts or troops to enter, but you can still be really creative. A system whereby you lose a vote every 2 pieces you go over the limit (51pc = -1, 53 = 2, 55 = -3...) could allow people to build larger but with forfeits... ;-) Quote

Loco de Lego Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) I started thinking on a contest ,the idea would revolve around the idea of human verse meach .You could do your diorama on a small baseplate or on a normal plate.the two best battles would win based on a pole .I am not sure would the prize will be yet though . brickchic Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 i believe Hinckley said this before, and i agree, but some people (like me) dont have the hobby train set and can't participate. im not trying to be mean in any way, and im sorry if it comes across that way, but im just trying to clarify something *sweet* No mean-ness taken :-). Just wondering why a contest needs to be selected on the basis of making it easy for everyone to participate? Meeting that criteria means you could never test the concept of everyone using the same set of parts for a train theme. Surely if there's enough variety in the contests running at any given time, there'll be something else you can participate in. I'd like to see the concept tested - whether with the Hobby Train set - or the Hoiday Train (as someone else mentioned) - as long as contestants are all limited to the same parts. There could be a parallel contest with more open rules to satisfy other members. Quote
Siegfried Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 No mean-ness taken :-). Just wondering why a contest needs to be selected on the basis of making it easy for everyone to participate? In the past we have found that contests like that can result in few (if any) entries. Quote
Piranha Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Another small contest idea: Fast Food Contest -Build a small fast food restaurant! -Range from Mc.Donalds, Taco Bell or make up your own! -175 piece max, 1 car required and drive through (or else it wouldn't be fast-food :-P ) Inspired by this set Quote
zero1312 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Why new contest? Why not redo older contests? *sweet* Quote
ExoBuilder Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Why new contest? Why not redo older contests? *sweet* A fine idea indeed Zero. *y* I think it would be cool to redo some like the "Whack a fig contest." I'm sure you'd get alot of attention with that one *y* *sweet* Quote
Tarfful Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 (edited) How about a create your own Star Wars Battle Pack contest? Different categories for each movie plus 2 catergories for EU stuff. Rules: 8 categories- Ep.1, Ep.2, Ep.3, Ep.4, Ep.5, Ep.6, and 1 for Prequel EU, example Clone Wars, and 1 for Original Trilogy EU, example New Republic Each entry has to have 4 figs Plus a small vehicle and/or a small structure Max piece count is 100 pieces including the minifigs and their subsequent add-ons and accessories Figs may be custom or official Customized Lego is allowed, non-Lego parts aren't Maximum of 1 entree per category Just an idea I had, sorry :-$ if it's already been proposed... @Piranha whens the last time you saw someone pay with a 100 Dollar Bill at a McDonalds? :-D -Tarfful Edited March 26, 2008 by Tarfful Quote

Piranha Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 How about a create your own Star Wars Battle Pack contest?snip Excellent Idea! It sounds very fun! But to shorten all the endless categories, it should just be PT, OT and EU. Three Categories, 3 Entires! *sweet* As for paying with a 100 bill, that's why Mc.Donald's doesn't except anything over a $20 (maybe $50?) X-D Either that or that minifig is starving!! :-P Quote

zero1312 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 What about a Starfox contest? You know, the games from Nintendo. ;-) Build something Starfox related, enemies, ships, bosses, etc...; as long it's Starfox. Any scale, no clone brand parts, no custom parts. Two categories: Best Resemblance and Best Overal MOC Quote

WhiteFang Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Just a simple suggestion of mine from my castle thoughts. As always, we views knights as valiant and brave, in general they are male in gender. What if we have a contest that incorporate female LEGO elements into it to view it as a warrior, knights, wizard or etc. In short, a contest that revolved female mini-figs in any medival class representative. *tongue* Quote

But AWESOME! *sweet* We can use an Oky Obi Wan statue to go with that Grievous! *cry_happy* Quote
iamded Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Invader Zim Contest *alien* A tribute to one of the craziest, darkest, and coolest cartoons ever! OK, maybe this is a little too specific, but heck, it would be so much fun! :-P Ooh! Yay! That one! :-D Or a gore contest, see who can make the most violent, gory vignette! :-D ~Peace Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) Since there are some great contests on EB at the moment (Pirates, Castle, ...) *thumbup* I thought it would be nice and interesting to share a Wild West contest, too. The basic idea would be - like imperialshadows organised in the Pirates contest - to design Wild West sets which TLG could release: Impulse set (like Indian Chief), little set (like Sheriff's Showdown), medium-sized set (like Chief's Tepee), big set (like Gold City Junction) and very big set (like Fort Legoredo). How about that? *sweet* Klaus-Dieter Edited April 9, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
jifel Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 just a thought, something like:1. must include at least 1 official sets OR a moced character(lariska) or a combo model. no made up people. 2. you can use bricks for scenery/support 3. dosnt have to be realistic (vican vs. mutran could happen) 4. no copying moced characters 5. doesnt have to be a fight( could be jaller and hahli... playing kohli!) 6. have fun! NOTE: this is not an actual contest yet, just an idea. so, what do you think? jifel my closed topic says it all jifel Quote
