As a collector: It was very difficult to get, most don't have it.

As a builder: Using it for anything would quickly damage the chrome, displaying it at a show would be a good way to lose it.

As a parts person: There were no cool parts with it that didn't already exist. The prints weren't even exceptional other than the fact it was nearly-fully chromed.

Personally, I can't see even one reason to vote for that figure.

I echo the reasons listed here on why I did not vote for Mr Gold.

On a related note, I don't know if the reason TLG included Highwayman in S17 is to reverse the stigma left behind by Mr Gold. I think they equally failed to gain interest around "secret" character and did nothing much on marketing.

For collectors, Highway man is very easy to get
For builders, it's not particularly great for army building unless you are building a band of bandits or outlaws.
For parts aficionados, Highway man offers very little - both flintlocke pistol and tricorn hat had been around since 1989.

What I learn in the elimination rounds so far, the more recognisable (familiar?) the minifigure is, the more popular it is. Whether it is pop culture or history reference, the minifigure tends to perform better in the polls. Most of the elimination round winners can be categorised under either pop culture or history references.

Argh cyclops and evil wizard are here still heavily on display. But since the cyclops serves Jabba the Hutt he wins for me. But the evil wizard is soooo a flash gordon baddie.

Darn it Itaria!

Evil Wizard, Small Clown and Cyclops together!

And my favourite is a 4th, the Samurai!

I voted evil wizard, but I predict the samurai warrior will win this round. The army builders are out in force! Personally? I don't like multiplies. It loses it's specialness when you have more than one. Anyone else feel that way?

I also went for samurai, but not for army building. Usually I get just one fig each and just get multiples if the parts are needed for other projects.

@Itaria No Shintaku have you planned to announce a winner among the voters, who voted best?

I know he won't win, but I love the Small Clown - he's so adorable!

Which is not usually something I say about clowns ...

Clowns are scary.

Had to go evil wizard. That cape is just wicked and the printing is very nice. I like the cyclops too, but I just like the overall look of the wizard better.

Yeah, to me voting for a figure is independent of its army building potential.

@BrickHat please don't vote the Samuria. ktnxbye :purrr:

Voted Cyclops, so don't worry. But if the Samurai loses by a vote, you'll have wished that I had voted Samurai.

To me, it was a close one between the Evil Wizard and the Cyclops, but I decided to give the Cyclops the edge because it was a first in Lego at the time.

Edit: @Robert8 I doubt you'll be happy with my decision.

Ok I'm preparing the graphics for the winning samurai.
