Lord Of Pies Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Nothing. As I never entered the dark ages. X-D Steve Same. although sometime between 2002-03 I had a bit of a grey age, i.e not buying MUCH lego. Quote
Matn Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 My Dark Ages where in 2005-06. I was 12-13. In the first grade of middleschool (or high school, don't know how it's called in English). Then the end-2006 sets got me in to it again when I was in the toy-store. I bought a small set with the thought "Let's look if I still like it..." And IF I liked it! :-D *y* I've never been in LEGO so much. Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 When I was walking through Target one day, and saw the Lego Isle, just had to check it out :-$ I saw a 10 dollar 4939, and I decided to get it at an impulse, and from this, it caused me to dig out my Titan Xp sets (separated from the rest of my collection, which caused me to forge the first moc I've done in years, the TitanXP dropship. Been hooked since *wub* Quote
Mile85 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 (edited) For me, LEGO kinda faded to the background somewhere in the mid 90s. The quality of set designs dropped rather dramatically in those days, and themes became less and less appealing to me. There was a brief revival of my interest in LEGO when the first wave of Bionicle came out in 2001, but in the following years set designs became rather repetitive (six good guys vs six bad guys over and over again) and LEGO faded to the background once more.It wasn't until 2007 that I was very pleasantly surprised by the drastically improved quality of both themes and sets. Especially the new Castle line surpassed all my expectations. LEGO was back with a vengeance, and so was my passion for this great brand. I can relate to that. Almost the same thing for me.. The last sets that interested me were western sets. Edited February 2, 2008 by Mile85 Quote
Freddie Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 The thing that got me back out of my own dark ages, if I can call it so, it's more grey than dark, was a job as a christmas-extra in a toy store. As an employee, I got employee-discounts, which made LEGO-sets very attractive very suddenly. I have litteraly not seen back since then. I'm not working there anymore, and don't want to either. But my studies are slowing down the interest and time spent on lego to idle, and I've taken up drawing as another hobby because it requires less time and space. Doesn't mean I'm abandoning ship, oh no. I'm trying to integrate my two hobbies into each other... Quote
