The new star wars sets are up on lego site in europe.

They are asking 50€, i have to repeat this: 50€ !!! (that's almost 60$ for our US friends here) for the sandspeeder. This deserves the title "rippoff set of the year"!

I still can't believe we haven't seen any Lego Praetorian Guards. They've got to do a throne room set over the summer.

Well, they really aren't in the film much; additionally, we got CCBS figures. Not sure what the odds of that are. :/

Yes. Why?

See Mark1006s spoiler comment above. This is the missed opportunity I was thinking...

Ah, I understand that; regardless of the ideal, there are a lot of disparate (sometimes conflicting) factors that TLG has to take into consideration. I won't be picking up the set, but I can understand why they ran with it the way they did.

Great minifig! However, I wonder why they just sacrificed what could have been an exclusive minifig for a potential Canto Bight set  Maybe there's a version with a hair/hat combo piece further down the pipeline?

Probably because there isn’t going to be a Canto Bight Set for a while and they wanted to introduce DJ. Also he is selling for 60$ on ebay

My local TRU has the Heavy Scout Walker on promo as a free gift with any $30 LEGO purchase... which is the price of the Heavy Scout Walker itself. My guess is that set gets retired quickly, since it was nowhere to be seen in the movie and universally panned by LEGO reviewers.

That's a dann good deal for hux and the female trooper alone, you can use the pieces for a moc or just open a store on BL and make some cash out of your free set that you barely spent 30$ for

So we are getting a DJ minifigure polybag, just like the R3-M2 and Scarif Trooper displays.

DJ is Benicio Del Toro’s character name.

As long as it's not the SDCC 2018 exclusive, I'm fine with that. The same actor, BDT was in 2014 as Marvel's The Collector. What are the odds he would end up being 2 exclusives? Were R3-M2 and Scarif Trooper reasonably easy to acquire at a retail level?

Come on, anyone that doesn't think a set of the most popular scene in the movie isn't being made is delusional.

You seem like a really nice guy to have around.

Yes, they were.

In Europe & NA, too bad if you lived elsewhere...

(R3-M2 was actually available on S@H, but Scarif trooper was "in-store only" - BL required for that one)

I still haven't managed to get the shoretrooper, but R2-M3s head and body were on bricks and pieces for a while - I've got loads of them (but no legs!)

Well we're paying £45 pounds for the cantina whereas it's $40 USD. It's not like the pound and dollar are even equal in value

Yeah, I have to admit that all of you are really getting a bad deal, even when you figure value added tax or any other included taxes.  The sandspeeder seems a little overpriced on our side, but there are other sets that are screaming ripoff much louder (looking at you, Cantina, most TLJ sets, battle packs at higher prices, etc.)

The Dutch can pay 60€ for the cantina set !

Ding dong!!

Those ‘modular’ minifig poly bags are becoming such an eclectic mix...first R3, then Shoretrooper and now DJ. I wish there was some kind of theme to make them displayable together.

I watched TLJ last night, and it's a vast improvement on Episode VII!  It has a decent storyline, with a few twists, and there's a good amount of humour.

I'm surprised to say that the Porgs are brilliant - I'd expected them to be the equivalent of Ewoks, but they really added to it.  TLG did a good job of converting the main elements of the film into sets, but there's still lots of material that available for the future. Like others have mentioned, I didn't see any sign of the FO Heavy Scout Walker, so I guess that it ended up on the cutting-room floor....
