efferman Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Today i have searched for inspiration and found this quelle liebherr Long Talk, short back, there is really small place available in the 19wide scale (1:16,7). So my excavator base has to be smaller again. This is what is done at this time. hopefulliy it works Edited April 17, 2017 by efferman Quote
Attika Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 If it goes smaller it might collapse and become a black hole. Nice design. Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Dang! I find it hard to believe that all fits in there! Excellent miniaturization, I can't wait to see your progress. But one question... Where will the battery box go? Quote
aminnich Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I always love following your builds, you are a very inspiring creator! I have tried building excavators in the past and never succeed, I can never get them very compact to where it looks like an excavator. I am seeing 5 motors, but only 4 outputs, is the 5th motor for rotation? Also, will have have the motors for drive built into the tracks? I would guess the battery box will be on the bottom like more LEGO model that it. Quote
efferman Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 Six, and the rotation motor is still left. not sure where the battbox will be placed Quote
aminnich Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Will you be posting the finished LDD? I would be curious to go through it and see what kinds of compact building techniques you do. Quote
efferman Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 not sure about the full lxf, but the gearbox will be available. The Picture below shows to 99% the placement and gearbox, but not fully secured by liftarms Quote
steph77 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 hi effe, i had a close look at your LDD file. The way you manage to pass through the turntable is just brillant! waiting for next step :) Quote
DugaldIC Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 There's soo many motors in such a small area, I can't wait to see the rest Quote
efferman Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) it seems to fit with the shell Edit: Edited April 16, 2017 by efferman Quote
Alex Ilea Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Nice build :) ! I am building an excavatornow as well. Quote
efferman Posted April 17, 2017 Author Posted April 17, 2017 (edited) Dont forget to post it. Mine has now the "ventilation mesh" for the engine Bay. Now the probably hardest thing: a double curved shape edit: Edited April 17, 2017 by efferman Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 That looks awesome dude!!!! To fit that much stuff in such a small space and make it look that good. Quote
efferman Posted April 17, 2017 Author Posted April 17, 2017 Thanks. With the use of two Sbricks it would be easier. With standard receivers i had a loss of one channel because the parts on the corner needs to much space Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Yes, that would be easier, you could use that in real-time, but LDD does not know that part because it ain't official Lego. Quote
VKTechnic Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Been following this build on Flickr for a while, it's amazing how much you're squeezing into a tight space. Can't wait to see it start to take shape with real bricks! Quote
efferman Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 i hope the cab will not be to fragile Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 It really is starting to take shape That is a lot of SNOT in that cabine, but it does look a little fragile indeed. Especially the black parts will move the moment you touch them I'm afraid. Quote
efferman Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 yeah, that would collapse many times, but some improvements are done now Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 With the extra bar its give you more strength and still looks superb. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 How about using a bar piece to divide between the top and bottom window? Looks fab so far. Quote
efferman Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 (edited) a bar piece instead of the antenna? Edit² the uppercarriage seems to be done Edited April 23, 2017 by efferman pictures added Quote
