AmperZand Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Later this year, TLC is releasing a Castle-themed advent calendar. See Edit by Hinckley: this thread at the CC forum this thread on Eurobricks end edit for details. The set includes a really cool jester minifig. I don't know if the jester has an official name but if he doesn't, I think he should be called Yobrick after Yorick of Shakespearean fame. The character was a Danish jester after all - just like the minifig. :) What do you think the LEGO jester should be called? Quote
Stealth Hunter Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 He should be called Jimmy. Just like Jedi Jimmy from the old republic gunship set. X-D Quote
metalandi Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I would call him Jesper the Jester :-D Quote
steelharbingerofdeath Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 arcturas. simple. steel... Quote
SirNadroj Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Simple. Jordan. Jordan the Jester. :-D Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 While I do like Yobrick, it has to be Motley for me Quote
ExoBuilder Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Simple. Jordan. Jordan the Jester. :-D Good choice!! *y* :-D *sweet* Quote
TheFrisian Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Chester the Jester :-D Or else a silly sounding name like Wamba :-P Quote
hewkii9 Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Walter. I think it describes itself, right? Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I have to go with the name Chester on this crucially important subject! Quote
General Zen Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I would say either Guadalupe or Antwon, since they seem like the perfect fit. :-D However, I like Jesper the most. Quote
Batbrick Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I too side with TheFrisian and Lord Of Pies when I state he MUST be called Chester the Jester. Keep in mind people this decision will change things forever. Batbrick Something! *wacko* Quote
SirNadroj Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Hmmmm... either Jordan, Chester, or Jasper. :-D Wait...why bother? ;-) Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I'm inclined to side with the "Chester" faction. Chester the Jester has a nice ring to it. Quote
natelite Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 i wouldn't be surprised if chester was indeed mentioned in the set. *sweet* Quote
PSPguy Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Be being completely biased in saying Chester!! Quote
voltio Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Chester FTW! *y* It has a friendly Lego-ish quality that Jimmy or Jasper don't have. Quote
Siegfried Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 No one names a jester. It's a case of "Hey you! Jester! Make me laugh or it's off with your head!". If he must have a name I think Mr Jester is best. Quote
PSPguy Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) Hey you! Walrus! Call him Chester or no clams for you! :-P Edited January 29, 2008 by PSPguy Quote
Belloq Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Im going to have to go with Chester. Ooooh, on a sidenote, those of us who have the Squidward minifig can make a Squidley one!!!! Yaysies, that'll be muh sigfig, Mwhahahahah!!! (Seriously, I call dibs on squidley) Jester Naming, On! Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I don't get why so many people don't understand that news of the Advent Calender broke on EB and not classic-castle 8-| Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 No one names a jester. It's a case of "Hey you! Jester! Make me laugh or it's off with your head!".If he must have a name I think Mr Jester is best. I thought that jesters were well respected in the middle ages. The joker or fool had certain rights when it came to speach that eluded even barons and earls. The ability to speak freely (and often inappropriately) about even the nobility made the jester a unique imp to say the least. Let's face it; making a joke about your monarch probably wouldn't win you many brownie points if you weren't a jester. If the King says "Hey you! Jester! Make me laugh or it's off with your head!", what does he say to the rest of the folks? "Hey you! Make me laugh AND it's off with your head!". I guess there's not that much difference when you think about it :-D . Quote
Siegfried Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I thought that jesters were well respected in the middle ages. Methinks you are taking my comment a tad too seriously. X-D Even so, I do stand by my point of the name, but I think you are right that they did have power in their own way... to a point. Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Personally I like Yobrick, it ties in with old times and still maintains the Lego aspect of it. Great choice *y* Quote
