Just a though, it would be helpful for new members if the Which forum does my MOC/topic belong in? thread was pinned, as quite a few people are still asking about where to post certain things, such as recently created Minecraft forum topic, instead of creating a new topic for them.

Ok i have a problem with embed videos on this site only. Chrome and Safari don't show videos, they show up as black box and nothing there(see picture). Only firefox was able to show them as embed youtube player. So i investigated little future and for example in this thread http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=138721 the embed video address is http://youtube.com/v...UL9Ko?version=3 which redirects to api address https://youtube.goog...L9KLo?version=3 which is just black and doesn't play anything and when you try to click the youtube icon it goes to https://www.youtube.com/? .

I think the problem is that the youtube.com/v/ api is broken or changed. I tried it with random video and it doesn't seem to work anymore. And since this forums uses youtube.com/v/ instead of youtube.com/embed/ it doesn't work correctly on browsers that doesn't seems to have some custom youtube url parsing like firefox has.

If I'm not mistaken on this boards it is as follows; embedded video's only work when using unprotected (http), if you use protected (https) embedded video's don't work.

Though the video's on that topic technicbear posted work just fine for me.

Yeah, that's right. But that doesn't seem to be the problem, the staff is checking it out.

I had dismissed the embeded video problem as a result of my in-the-sticks internet connection being overloaded. Thank you for letting everyone know.

I can verify the problem from both Linux + Chrome and Android + Chrome (Both combos are uptodate.)

I have partially solved the issue:

• New videos will work fine now
  
• Not only http links to youtube can be used, but https as well
  
• Reposting a post (edit and save) will solve this issue
  
• No Flash player anymore
  

As for the existing videos, we are still working on a solution that doesn't need a repost.

You have to link them in from a picture hosting site,you should not upload pictures using your EB file hosting allocation.

Like Alasdair said, you need to use an image hosting service. This will keep performance the way we like it.

I recommend Bricksafe or Flickr, both are free.

On my iphone with safari the forum is in mobile mode and everthing is fitted to the with of the screen, exept for the embeded youtube at the moment.

The one-year limit is in place to avoid big server search loads, but you can search for older posts by using the start and end dates on this advanced search page, which is accessible from the little gear icon next to the search field in the top-right corner.

Also in a specific forum, it is possible to filter to "topics I started". To do that, click on the custom button, which is located on the green bar (where recently updated is selected by default) , just below start new topic. It will give you all the different filter options for which topics show, and in which order,

We had to limit it. If it was able to load all topics or posts for every member it would bog down our server populating that list, especially for someone like me who has been around or posted a lot. I don't remember if we limited it to five topics or also added a time limit but you can discover it yourself by following the instructions BrickCurve gave you.
