technicbear Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) I seem to have problem with forum. When moving between forum thread pages the next page doesn't show up without reloading whole site. For example when i press next or number of page i want to see the loading bar shows up and then the whole site itself is like under a blur layer(alpha layer?), but it never changes itself. To get it to change i need to press the page i want and then hit refresh on browser for it to reload. I have tried disabling all my browser extension, but that didn't change anything. I have latest chrome on mac os 10.10. edit: I did little testing, it seems like the problem is in threads with a lot of pictures. Because in this thread everything seems fine, but when i load this one: Only page 6 switches without any problems for me in that thread. Edited December 2, 2016 by technicbear Quote
Capparezza Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 @technicbear This problem has already been discussed here. Happens for me too once in a while. Haven't had any chance to find out, why. Quote
technicbear Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 @Capparezza Ok my bad then, i haven't had time to visit this forum much after the upgrade took place. :) Quote
Capparezza Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) @technicbear No need to apologize On the contrary, I guess it helps to bring up this issue now and then so it won't get "lost in time". BTW: Saving posts takes a long time again... maybe it's just me? Edited December 5, 2016 by Capparezza Quote

Oky Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Is there any way to still attach LXF files to a post or can you only attach pictures now? Quote

halixon Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I have a problem. I want to change my Avatar, but the maximum picture size for it is 100KB. I distinctly remember my current one being more than that. I can't seem to compress my new avatar lower than 600KB. Quote
VK-318 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) Hello all, it's been while since I was active here, and now that I'm back, I'm trying to update my signature. But I'm not able to find a way to edit it on my profile page. What am I missing? EDIT: Nevermind. It moved to "Account Settings." Edited January 5, 2017 by VK-318 Solved my own problem. Quote

Your current avatar in account profile is just 7.9kb. 600kb sounds to much for a small picture. What is the resolution for your new avatar? Quote

It looks like EB is using pictures no larger than 200x200, so my avatar is a PNG file. Its size is 69.5kB. Now if I save it as uncompressed *.BMP file it will increase up to a little over 120kB, while saving as compressed JPG will decrease it size to 8kB. The size of JPG file is variable and depends on compression level and picture quality requirements, but at such small size it is barely noticeable. PNG is somewhre in the middle between BMP and JPG. So I could suggest checking the dimensions (resolution) of your picture first and if that is still not enough do a little test saving picture in different file formats. Quote

Oh, sorry, by resolution I thought you meant size. It's 2480x2480 (Pixels), and it's a ,jpg Quote

It's 2480x2480 (Pixels), and it's a ,jpg That's where your problem is. There's no point of having high resolution since EB doesn't use large areas for avatars anyway (I suspect EB forum might even resize larger images automatically, but this needs to be confirmed). So to fix your issue you could simply make a copy of existing file (just to make sure not to destroy original file) and resize/scale it down to 200x200 pixels. Save as *.jpg and you'll be within a limit for sure. Quote

VaderFan2187 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 HELP! How do I insert tags when I start a topic? I was able to insert them on my first topic I created, but afterwards I forgot how, and can't find a space to insert them. Quote
Hinckley Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Under the "Title" field of a new post form is a "Tags" field. You can separate each tag using commas. If you want to tag a member in the body of a post. you type "@" and start to type the username and a list of users will appear. Quote

Underneath that is the content field but it is labeled "required." Is this what you're seeing? Quote

Hinckley Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Weird... Let me check something else. I'm not sure why I (as a Knight) would be able to and you wouldn't. What browser are you using? And is it updated? Quote
quark12000 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 It is strange. I don't get the "Poll" option. Is that because I'm still a "Vassal"? Quote
Hinckley Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Yes. The ability to start polls comes with a higher rank. Did you have the "Tags" option? Quote
