Posted May 13, 20177 yr Found new challenge for me. This car ir very small, bet there are some challenging things, to replicate in Technic: front supension openable door together with steering wheel rear suspension Planned dimensions Some first try for front suspension Tyre are littlebit too wide, but can't think of something better. May 13, 20177 yr Oh what an ugly little car (the real one, at least haha) I look forward to seeing how everything comes together on this moc of yours though! The only tires I can think of which are skinnier are motorcycle wheels but then you would have a very very large Isetta ! Â

Maybe during process I will find allready some good placement of PF, but not sure. 4 minutes ago, DugaldIC said: skinnier are motorcycle wheels but then you would have a very very large Isetta Yes, but it would be allready close to original
May 14, 20177 yr Now that's a great little challenge. Nice to see you picking it up. Also. Remember that the Isetta did not have reverse gear! This meant that you could get stuck if you could not open the front door. Times were different back then :)
May 15, 20177 yr Author I tnink, that there wont be gearbox (still didn't had in any of my own builds ...), so it's not a problem for me now. But You gave me kick, so i'm started to think about it allready ... Spen't lot of hours on steering system, still no good results. Can't fit necessary gearing in right position in front. I'm afraid, that I'll have to rebuild fornt axle from scratch. Maybe I have to go to motorcycle tyres scale ...
May 15, 20177 yr Honestly only Mini inspired me in real life of all small cars, but to take a Isetta as a challenge and make model of it - that is very brave - but beware of this

Yes it seems like ony some versions were without reverse in order to get grouped as three wheeled motorcycle legislations (and this would be some of the three wheeled versions - not the one being modelled here). I believe the original Italian version did have reverse gear.
May 16, 20177 yr well that historic picture shows it pretty ugly. but in Munich in the "BMW Welt" there is one driving around frequently, you can have a round for your kids in it. And in real its actually quite cute. and I once saw one in the underground garage of the BMW building here parking beside a BMW X6. that was some nice pic ;)
March 14, 20186 yr Author Almost year :) I restarted this project. Previous was long ago disassembled. Now ther's new frame Still don't know, how the body can be made from Technics. Also that steering again. It is really challenging. Now it is much wider. Don't know, why I made it so narrow before, even I had measures. Rear axle is different also, because I noticed, that there should be two shock absorbers. Edited March 14, 20186 yr by Jurss
March 14, 20186 yr I'm always happy to see my scaler tool being used in such ambitious projects :) Good luck!

March 15, 20186 yr Author Had some progress. Made some steering Nothing better came to my mind, after some 5 versions, I kept this as best. Don't know about HOG steering ... Then moved to engine Air inlet, something like carburator Exhaust View from back, also rear axle Chassis is done. Now would be nice to make cabin, which could be separable from chassis.
March 16, 20186 yr Looks like an interesting build! Never saw such a vehicle made in Lego Technic before.
March 16, 20186 yr Not sure if the back suspension will work like that. If i remember right @Didumos69Â posted a picture about that problem with the springs. They should be connected on the same side.Â
March 16, 20186 yr Author There is some little bit bigger friction, but they work. Put some spare wheel in place Put steering mechanism on other side of beam, it is more in right place now Put some sofa on the chassis Folded to reach spare wheel I tried to start on body, but totally stuck. I'm afraid, that I will have to rename this topic to - Isetta chassis.
March 19, 20186 yr Odd vehicle and light blue gray fits your build, the color seems to be lighter in weight compare to other colors. odd engine!! Looks great otherwise!! good luckÂ
March 19, 20186 yr That doesn´t seem to be right. it Looks to high for me... Does it fit to the Blueprints? Otherwise, the front Suspension is awesome Â
