A part of me would love an Australian wildlife subtheme—we finally have koalas but there's never been a Lego kangaroo before, and they'd be too big to fit into a CMF or something. Of course American or African wildlife would also be plenty welcome.

Alternatively, sign me up for a North American style ‘Great Outdoors’ subtheme. Lego City explores the National Parks. 🦬🐿️🦝🐻 🦅

Definitely what I would bet on for next summer, but we'll have to wait and see!

Depends what they do with the kangaroo, tbh I’d say they’d go for a smaller version that would fit in CMF boxes easily (we have had dolphins, foals, snake tails, centaur bodies - we can manage a kangaroo

Also having the koala and cockatoo in existence would make it simple to do an Australian subtheme now: they could get away with just having a new kangaroo, and reusing koala, cockatoo, spiders, snakes and crocs.

OOOH, I'd love a National Parks subtheme.  Missing Safari animals still wanted also.

Whilst I’d love more North American animals 🦬🦫🦝, I assume you guys mean a ‘US National Parks’ theme?

Also a whole mountain bicycle and a long paralympics wheelchair, I'm almost certain a full sized kangaroo can fit in a CMF box

Lol I forgot that mountain bike. That was ridiculous.

Call it a wallaby instead of a kangaroo, and you can make it small enough to fit in the bag without anyone batting an eye. It could double as a joey for one of the bigger species.

I don’t think it needs to be aligned particularly to the US National Parks. Especially if that requires licensing. Just some sets that have a feel of exploring the wilderness - more modern updates of https://brickset.com/sets/6552-1/Rocky-River-Retreat and https://brickset.com/sets/6665-1/River-Runners - a shame the new campervan doesn’t include a nice autumnal tree and a moose!

For what it's worth I think U.S. National Parks would be a situation like NASA where collaborating with or getting the approval of the organization would be possible but licensing fees would not be required (since it's a federal agency).

So could Lego-ize them. Legostone Park, anyone?

I have to agree that it doesn't need to be branded as National Park theme but it would be nice if they did & donated $ to national parks around the world.  Didn't they team up with some foundation a few years back for some sets?  I'm all for an ongoing Wilderness theme that focuses on animals around the world.  If they can do it for Duplo why not regular sets?  I need some Moose, Beavers, Mountain Goats, Bighorn Sheep, etc.  Some coyote, fox, more wolves.  Kangaroos, armadillos, hippo, rhino, zebra, deer, elk, etc.

They had a brief team up with Nat Geo on some of the oceans sets IIRC

That was it.  I thought it was the Ocean sets but couldn't remember which group they donated to.

Yes, that would be amazing. I'm still waiting for a kangaroo to make MOC of the outback, but wallabies, wombats, echidnas, platypuses, and Tassie devils would all make great Lego animals.

Friends got a ferret now, so maybe City next :shrug_oh_well:

I’m surprised a stoat/weasel mould hasn’t already shown up in Harry Potter tbqh

As an Aussie, any further City-style Australian animals to go with that koala (including a City "Outback Explorers" theme) would be instant "shut up and take my money" territory for sure.

What would be the difference though?

I mean sure it looks like a wolf because of its upwardly pointed ears. But tome it looks like an ordinary puppy next to minifigure in city.

But wolves and dogs are interchangeable according to @Roebuck - and he is the guru 😝
