But wolves and dogs are interchangeable according to @Roebuck - and he is the guru 😝

Oh sure wolves and dogs have common canine family!

House cats and big cats are interchanable (sarcaitally).

Eh, it’s just a strand ard pup mold not a specific wolf pup.

Doesn't change the fact that it's called a wolf pup for the Aarokocra.

I am definitely no wolf guru, have only seen them a couple of times in the wild  However it looks more or less like a wolf puppy and Lego say it is one so fine by me. I think a new mould for a adult wolf is the best we can expect in that department and we are getting one soon. People must decide for themself if they will use the D&D canine as a wolf or a dog puppy, but I would not sit up at night waiting for a new specific wolf puppy mould even if we are getting a lot of new animals the last few years. For me I would much rather have a fox if we get a new canine mould

Yes, Lego still needs to fill the basic gaps before we start specialising. I think the ‘Wolf pup’ works sufficiently.

The fact doesnt matter to me. It’s still a standard dog pu mold.

I think you are right.

I do think some Lego fans also place a little too much in what the ‘official Lego name’ is on parts and figures. I mean, I get it, but you’re allowed to have your own interpretation in the same way you’re allowed to *braces self* not follow instructions.

There is a lobster (+a big snake without print and a bat ) in 76453 Malfoy Manor Set, it has been some time since that mould showed up right?

The last appearance of that part was in 2019, so I am assuming that the designers included it in order to preserve the mould.

Looks like a new gargoyle mold in that set too. I'm not sure where that sits with you animal enthusiasts, but it's in the ballpark.

I think they already used it a Wednesday set (76781).

It is good that they are more aware of this now to avoid a new goat situation :sweet:

I thought the same thing! First thought was, wow, a lobster! Second was that I don't remember a lobster anywhere. Third was that it might be to maintain the mould.

They also had lobsters in BAM a few years ago though. Maybe 2021? I wonder if that also impacts mould preservation?

Is the camel now officially under goat status? 🤔

I think it’s most definitely an ex-camel, pining for the fjords.

Random quesiton….if only cares to say anything in regard to dinosaur….

Are dinosaur molds form Jurasic Worrld theme more like Cityanimal modls when it comes to 5-year period? For example, Gallimius has not been seen since 2020 and its mold reach its expiration in 2025.

I don’t *know*, but would assume it’s the same in practice for moulds.

Looks like snake in a new color in the HP set, but it is the old mould and not the cobra that would be a better fit:shrug_oh_well:

Snakes are very much being cheaped-out in sets lately. The unprinted python in the Malfoy Manor set is unforgivable when it’s basically a key character! That said, I like the recolour of the ‘old’ rattlesnake mould in tan, that’s a useful colour for once

Both the Ank and I-Rex also fall into that category

In other (unexciting) Harry Potter set news – the microscale Diagon Alley not only has an unprinted grey kitten to represent the Magical Menagerie (previously appeared in the Gringotts set), but it also seems to include a new (presumably also unprinted) owlet for Eeylops/the post office. Hard to tell if it’s in the light grey we’ve already seen or white (which would be a new color).
