Doesn't change the fact that it's called a wolf pup for the Aarokocra.

Called by whom? In the describtion of the Set there is no mention of it at all as far as I can see. Aside from that it just doesn´t look like a wolf. The ears are way to big.

Random quesiton….if only cares to say anything in regard to dinosaur….

Are dinosaur molds form Jurasic Worrld theme more like Cityanimal modls when it comes to 5-year period? For example, Gallimius has not been seen since 2020 and its mold reach its expiration in 2025.

As far as I know that 5 year period isn´t a rule, where they just discart everything once it reaches that age. And as long as the Jurassic World theme is still out there I don´t see them throwing away the dino moulds, unless they think they wouldn´t use one of those again and rather make a new one if needed.

I don’t *know*, but would assume it’s the same in practice for moulds.

Possibly - I just don’t know if there is a same pratice for antoher non-City/Friends creature molds like Jurassic World and Hary Potter (save for otter and stag).

Both the Ank and I-Rex also fall into that category

Tht’s true about Ankloyosaurs. Technically I-Rex’s body parts hve been reused / recolored - take a look at Gigantosaurus’ head and Allosaurus’ body and arms.

I think it is a rule, but there are probably exceptions to the rule. I assume the time starts when the last set with the mould in is retired not when it is released. E.g the cow was last in a train set released in 2014, however that was on shelf's until 2018 so no problem to include it in the barn animals set in 2022.

If I remember well in the source we got that info from they said they would check them after that period and not just discard them, whatever the mould is.

I’m surprised a stoat/weasel mould hasn’t already shown up in Harry Potter tbqh

That's what an Aarokocra has a wolf pup.  It's in DnD.  But like anything in lego you can make it whatever want.

That doesn´t really answer the question. Where is it even mentioned what it is supposed to be?

Can´t find it on the official Website, and unlike you said I didn´t found any source that would make a wolf pup a typical companion for Aarakocras. Which wouldn´t make sense anyways technically since wolves can´t fly ;).

The Aarakocra includes two accessories: a bow (an obvious fit for a ranger) and a creature companion. But that furry fellow isn’t necessarily who you think it is. “Many times, rangers also have some kind of animal companion,” Esa says. “I’ve seen many people saying that it’s a little dog, but we were thinking that it’s a wolf cub.”

There's a new Corgi mould in one of the Friends sets,42641, releasing in January. There's a black and white, and a dark orange and white version in a small set. They look like they wouldn't look out of place in City either.

Thank you. Still hoping we will get a proper wolf pup mould one day, but until then I am happy with what we have - which is especially the adult wolf, which looks really good (and actually like a wolf)

We have still never had a Friends mould that crossed over like that though … unless maybe the ‘small bird’? I now can’t remember where that originates

Time will show if the gorillas made it there in time

The original ones are still in the warehouse. Don’t start me!

ZOMG have just seen them and they are the MOST ADORABLE THING EVER!!

The new ‘squishy’ toy animal from S27 also shows up in some Friends sets as with new prints

I think the only Friends animal that has crossed over is the raccoon recently used for baby Rocket Raccoon, while in the other direction the small bird, chicken and small owl have all crossed over from non-Friends into Friends.

I've started just accepting it and mixing some Friends animals into minifigure displays, like the chonky cats. The disparity in eye style and general roundedness of many Friends animals compared to non-Friends one is still a little too far for me though, and I wish City would just get half as many animals as Friends gets. Clearly they aren't SO expensive to produce when Friends has an outpouring of fresh animals every year without ridiculous set prices.

I have to admit, I have largely been able to discount the Friendsified animals, but every one of those  ChOnKy CaTs is adorable and makes me question my own boundaries

Looks like there is a printed beetle part in Tudor Cornet set.

It is the same as the one in the botanical garden :classic: but the cat is new and that do not happen as much as I would like in the modulars. The only one I can remember on the top of my head is the chameleon in the book shop, maybe the dog in the pet shop? :sceptic:

And several of this year's Friends sets. But on that note, there are similar new bee and ladybug prints in some of the upcoming Friends sets—the bee is more realistic than the previous one that originated in the Winnie the Pooh set, and the ladybug is printed on a clear tile like the bee and beetle but unlike the two previous ladybug prints (making it appear more reasonably scaled compared to figures). I wouldn't be surprised to see both of those plus the beetle print in future Animal Crossing sets, since bug catching is a big part of those games and these new tiles seem well suited to Animal Crossing's small, realistic bugs.

Two big arctic explorer sets for City coming next summer (though according to LMG the other sets are unlikely to be related to arctic). Interested to see what animals they include, and if we'll get any new ones? *huh*

One would assume they do indeed include *some* animals, or else, what marks them out as being in the ‘Arctic’? I think we can probably bank on a polar bear reappearance …

Fingers crossed for a return of the saber tooth cat!

But, realistically, we’re likely looking at returns of the polar bears, seals, orca, and perhaps penguin if they decide one of the sets is Antarctic instead of arctic. As far as new arctic animals go, the only clear contenders I can think of would be a narwhal or a walrus.
