Did we have an existing small deer mold in the past?

Nope, other than a horrible Friends one

I meant I think it *could* be the existing adult reindeer. It’s a small image and it’s in the background, so really hard to tell.

(I don’t think we will get a new animal mould in an Advent calendar, that’s certainly never happened before)

Okay thanks!

I don’t think it would be a new small deer mold for advent calendar if there is already one in other set. For example, in 2022, we got foal mold from CMF in January then later, we got a white foal.

Possibly, but there's also a chance that they've done a new mould for an unseen City or Winter Village set, and reused it in the advent calendar.

The antlers on this look different. And could you even get a reindeer in the space available in an advent calendar?

Not traditionally, but things change. Your suggestion is fair, there’s also a possibility it could be brick built. I was thinking the antlers might be a reuse of the new ‘Fern’ piece even.

Hope we get some clearer pics soon!

Yes, brick-built definitely a possibility there. The antlers do look different, and component pieces would make sense. We'll definitely get clearer pictures before Christmas

Just seen that @cacacolito has posted the new BAM figures and one of the accessories is the dark orange chicken! Might have to try and get a flock of them if they don't fly run away at high speed.

Nice. Just picked up the seal battlepack & the diving boat with turtles 🙌🏽

… y’know, before the pesky kids clear the shelves

It could be brickbuilt even if they have not done that in many year in in City I think. More likely than a goat as well:tongue: A brown foal would be nice :sweet: The content of the SW AC is out, hopefully City is not far behind..

Just looked at it again on a larger screen and it really does look brick-built. It's too blocky to be a moulded animal.

With all the new animals coming I have not noticed the hammerhead and normal shark comes in a new colour as well*huh* I have probably read it several times, but did not register before I saw this video

You’re slacking @Roebuck! They did the same when they introduced the hammerhead, it was the same time that they gave us the shark with gooey green eyes on Hidden side, so they only had to produce one new colour body.
Interestingly - the new hammerhead in light bley has a standard eye, without eyebrows. Whoever decides on shark and croc eyes at Lego is all over the place!

Nice to see the black cat back. Hope it’s easily available!

Apparently an owl and dog coming in the next Marvel CMF wave. Would assume a new print on the owl, and the dog will likely reuse the retriever mould, but may get a new one. Either way, since it’s Lucky the Pizza Dog, it will be the first non-Friends animal with a visible disability, as Lucky has only one eye.

I wonder if black cat wou show up in BAM  for Halloween.

Ooooo that would be neat! I really don’t care about Marvel characters in CMF. But animals only get my attention! Tho i skipped Loki-gator.

I see some of the Marvel movies and series, but forget it 5 minutes later so can not remember any owl. Do the rumors say what kind of owl? There are more owls in other sets this year than HP, so they should up their owl dropping game and gulp up a pellet or two

Something else, here is a nice picture of the seals compared to other animals from Jaysbrickblog another Lego animal fan (decent size on the adult I must say:sweet:):

It is a fantastic year for small City sets with animals, first the otter- and now the seal battle-pack. I am sure they will sell a lot both to adults and kids and expect to see more of those sets next year

The owl features in the last episode of Hawkeye in a Christmas tree - I think it’s a saw-whet owl. That’s a small species, so there’s an outside chance that they give us a new, smaller, owl mould. That would make sense for use in other themes - but who knows? (In theory they should have given us a new mould with the owl that came with Cho Chang CMF but they didn’t)

And yes the adult seal is a good size, which is nice to see.

Agreed, I like the set but it could have really used an extra chicken or two to fill things out. Hopefully we keep getting different animal battle packs next year!

The seal battlepack is a fantastic sets. I waited for BaP for the otters because literally all I wanted was one otter piece.

But the seal set has not only the two fantastic new seals, but also new colour combos for the minifigure's hat-hair and backpack. Fantastic stuff.

I agree and believe the prelim picture of the set had that as well, but apparently a chicken/hen cost almost as much as a horse on the budget to include:wacko: However there seem to be a evolution going on with more budget spent on those sets, so I guess if we got that set next year alt least a rooster mould would be included.

  • 2021: 60300: Wildlife Rescue ATV (74 parts and 3 animals, 2 new small monkeys that come in almost every set in the wave and one small unprinted scorpion. "Zero" from the budget used on animals in the set)
  • 2022: 60344: Chicken Henhouse (101 parts and 2 animals, 2 small hens in a new color that do not come in any other set in the wave. New color of the part needed to use from the budget)
  • 2023: 60394: ATV and Otter Habitat (90 parts and 4 animals. 2 small otters in a new color and with a print for the first time that only came in that set in the wave, in addition one frog and a fish unprinted. New color and print was used from the budget)
  • 2023: 60376: Arctic Explorer Snowmobile (70 parts and 3 animals. 2 new moulds for seals, one small and one medium plus an unprited fish. 2 new moulds means a lot of the budget was used on the set

It is difficult to compare small with big D2C sets, but maybe it is the best set we have gotten so far this year I would say :sweet:
