I feel like moulded shrimp would be too large, but a printed 1x1 round tile would work quite well!

Talking of which - it makes an appearance in one of the Animal Crossing sets: hopefully making it easier to get hold of on PAB in time

Giant prawn... tiger prawn... Lego can mould like like the mini horn, or just a little larger.

Calling for army of hermit crabs!

The butterfly comes in a new purple colour (without printing I assume) in one of the botanical sets, there is also the giant seashell part in red for the first time I think:classic:

The names of the 2024 City sets (according to Bricklink) don’t sound too promising as an opportunity for new animal moulds. Here’s hoping the summer wave takes us out of the city.

Think our best hope is the next CNF wave but this will limit the size potential.

Would love it if there was an annual set dedicated to animals (like we get a Winter Village, Lunar New Year…).  A safari theme still lacks essentials like a zebra, giraffe, hippo and rhino.

i also don’t know why fans are so outraged about the lack of goats, when the camel has been absent for far longer!

I want both, but camels are less useful and more difficult to include in sets than goats are. Goats can appear in any farming or Castle set, while camels are fairly limited to desert-based sets (of which we have not gotten many since PoP!).

Oh but you only know the set names without seeing the whole sets. We didn’t know that there were kittens and puppies until we saw them. Same for squirrels. I think winter wave only introduce us one or two new animals and recolored animals (take a look at otter and turtle). Usually, summer waves bring us a lot of animals.

Nah - I want an unreleased bison! It has been ages ago.

Exactly. From what I’ve seen, there’s a whole bunch of search and rescue and fire rescue sets. The winking owl (new color and print) and kittens (new mold in three colors) were introduced in fire rescue sets, and any wilderness rescue set could have an animal included as part of the setting. And while the police sets usually don’t give us anything more interesting than the common shepherd dogs, it’s worth noting that the only appearance of the white bulldog was in a large police station set, so new animals aren’t impossible there either. The only ones we can pretty sure of not getting any animals in are the space ones.

I have seen a zebra in Lego HQ and a picture of a rhino so they where close to make them like the bison it seems in the old days. I think the set you have on your profile always "looked weird" and stand out even as a kid. First I was disappointing it only had a monkey and not a new animal, second that we did not get more sets in the same wave, maybe they was planing to do it, but ended only up with that one for some reason :shrug_confused:

With the last few years of City in mind I think it is better chance for some new animals than not even if the set names are not so promising. HP have 2 promising set names, let's see if they live up to what they promise as well

A thought just occurred to me… which minifig animal costume hasn’t made it into being made into an animal? I’m only referring to the minifigs in an animal costume, but not humanoid animal minifigs.

Yes, after all, one of those promising Harry Potter sets is a Hagrid’s Hut that’s reported to include Fang - a mastiff in the movies. That means a new big dog mold that could easily feature in one of the police or fire rescue sets (lego introduced the bulldog by releasing it in two different colors in separate larger set simultaneously, so such a move wouldn’t be without precedent).

As an aside, I think it’s kind of funny that people are saying that the upcoming winter City set names ‘don’t seem that promising’ when several of them are fire rescue sets and last year those were the ones that literally gave us kittens.

I only focus on medieval marked square now, so I have forgot that Fang is coming even if I have asked for that for years  That comes in addition to the 2 promising HP sets I mentioned :sweet:

We already have the chameleon, which is a lizard. I wouldn't say no to a more generic lizard, I'm just not sure it's necessary for reptile representation.

For a gorilla, the Gorilla Suit Guy works pretty well for now, as long as you don't need to see the gorilla from behind!

2 white birds and a French bulldog in tan? in the new modular, might be more animals on the inside :shrug_oh_well:

Good catch, I didn’t even notice those - too focused on trying to see what the interior exhibits look like. And it’s fairly common for natural history museums to have exhibits of stuffed/mounted specimens or even exhibits of small local wildlife (I know my local one has both) so it’s not impossible that we could see something in there.

Amazing! Two new moulds as expected, with the GOAT return much appreciated. I believe the dog might be an Afghan or similar breed - definitely unique! And that's a new print for the butterfly :)

Definitely an Afghan hound, the long flowing hair is too distinctive to be anything else

This is not a drill the goat is back 🥳🐐

Not unexpected, but they used the CMF budget to include the goat in MTS set, probably comes with another color there and maybe a kid 🤓
