This is not a drill the goat is back 🥳🐐

Not unexpected, but they used the CMF budget to include the goat in MTS set, probably comes with another color there and maybe a kid 🤓

Perhaps the Medieval Town Square features a goat with brown patches like the original? This one is solid white after all.

I fully expect the goatherd’s torso and legs to get reused as well!

I expect a new color to keep the original unique and it makes little sense to make a similar when they can get some more variation in the goat heard

Must see a better picture first, but you might be right :classic:

Thank you very much for the information! :classic:

I noticed that the dog in the museum holds a bone in his mouth - so it has to be a new animal mould, hasn't it?

I must admit that I'm really disappointed that there is no new (non-dog) exotic animal in the new CMF series; I'm really getting tired of the many different dogs we're getting. :hmpf_bad:

I would think so too - at least for the colour it seems unlikely they would include the same colour as they did in the CMF. I actually would like to see one with spots that is similar to the original one.

Now that the floodgates have opened let us see goats in every logical colour!! And with different patterns and maybe a couple of illogical colours for fun. Maybe a blue classic space goat!

Also red panda is one of my favourite animals along side goats, so one of those please.

We also really need more birds. Crows, magpies, doves, pigeons, robins, ducks, pelicans, starlings.

On the one hand, that would be good, as it's likely going to be on PaB, so you can get more and not have to go through razy hoops to get many of the CMF. On the other hand, it would be a shame to reuse a torso for a medieval civilian and not get more variety.

Pink and purple goats too!

I'd love them to make pigeons and ducks.

Also a shame that they didn't update the fish to a more modern style. Film noir detective with a red herring is a fabulous pun, but I really dislike that old fish mould.

Don't forget swans!

No, it’s the preexisting French Bulldog, they just animated it with a bone stuck next to its mouth for the promo video

Perhaps they would make one in dark orange or in tan. It would be great to have some solid color variations. Also, black with white spots!

Flamingo battle pack.

Goatherd

Full grown duck, or at least a swan in different poses.

1414falconfan leaked minifigure series 25!

The Afghan Hound with the dog groomer is an odd looking animal. Glad we have the Goat back 😁

I was hoping mainly for a baby llama, so they have an excuse to make a parent llama.

Why the choice of the Afghan hound??? Maybe they picked it just because it looked so distinctive and it suited the dog groomer vignette that they just so wanted to feature???

I thought that dog was a baby llama at first glance lol

About the breed, so a dog groomer it makes sense to feature one that requires extensive maintenance

I was onboard the goat-hype train so I thought it was another goat breed :laugh:

I actually thought the same - might be that is was because of all this llama talk here though - but then I thought, that the it kinda looks weird and realised it is a dog - clearly not one of my favourites, though.

I’m glad I’m not the only weirdo who saw two goats 😂

did not have an Afghan hound on my list though. What with that and the ‘mastiff’ in the Harry Potter set it’s a big big dog year already. If can count, I think we are up to TEN different dog moulds in city / normal animals, plus the shepherd puppy

(shepherd, husky, chihuahua, French bulldog, terrier, bulldog, dachshund, retriever, Afghan hound & mastiff)

Meanwhile - just one cat mould, and another with a mohawk 😜

What *is* interesting with the two new dogs we know we are getting, is that they mark a move away from popular and common breeds, to more unusual ones. Also - still no mixed breed mutts!

Technically two cat molds plus the mohawk one, since they introduced the smaller kitten mold last year.

But generally there's less shape variation in cat breeds than there is in dogs. I wouldn't say no to a bigger/fluffier mold like the one introduced recently for the Friends theme, but apart from that I think a lot of cats could be achieved with print variations on the existing mold.

Sure, but I counted the adult dogs PLUS puppy

A cat in a different pose might be nice though. That's asking a lot, given the number of animals with no representation. But it's a common animal in the LEGO City world, and there are several cat moulds in Friends.

I think it's not too unreasonable a prediction, given that a different pose for a cat like a sitting pose could be VERY versatile (not just in City but all sorts of other themes, licensed and unlicensed alike). From Lego's perspective, that sort of thing could make a big difference in the sort of cost/benefit analysis of whether a new mold is worth introducing.

By comparison a good number (though not all) of the animal types there haven't been, while they'd be great to have, could be significantly more "niche". Like I'd love a Kangaroo but given the fact that they're not nearly as widespread globally, something like that would have to be either for a zoo or an outback set/sub-theme designed with that in mind.

A CMF is not so unlikely it is definitely more known than the llama/goat/dog mould we got now

The koala also only natively appears on one continent, same as the kangaroo, and I doubt they made that with reuses in mind up front. They could of course include it in a zoo set or if they randomly made another Australia set/theme.

The kangaroo is a recognisable and well loved animal, but I think an adult one would actually be too big for a CMF. It'd have to be a Joey, or a wallaby instead.

Yeah, the size was the reason I figured something like a kangaroo wouldn't work in a CMF like a koala. Again, not saying it's impossible for them to come up with a set to contain a kangaroo, or that a set with a kangaroo wouldn't be appealing, just contrasting something that'd be easy to fit into all sorts of existing sets and themes like a new cat with something that'd have to have a set or theme more tailored to it.
