Thanks for sharing it!

Actually The spreadsheet I had in mind was something like a list of animal species and then three columns for example:

Sloth: System | Duplo | Friends

Otter: System | Duplo | Friends

Elephant: System | Duplo | Friends

Sea Turtle: System | Duplo | Friends

Tortoise: System | Duplo | Friends

etc

From a quick look it seems you are missing the blue BAM rabbit and the other ant and all the frogs :classic:

Thank you. Yes i need to update couple of thing on the list ASAP, but Bricklink is down and I don't know where else to check which animals i am still missing.

I wasn't sure if you were doing licensed animals but I see Crookshanks, Wonder dog and Hedwig among others so:

Would Krypto and Scooby Doo make the list?

I was able to source some of the above pictures from Brick Owl.

Here is the list with a few updates. If I missed something let me know.

Ha! My first thought was 'this is amazing'.

My second thought was 'I thought the ant came in brown'. :classic:

If you are hyped up for goat and chase after it like crazy then suddenly, there will be no goat left. if you say “Blame the goat”, I will say “I blame scapegoat AFOLs”…

just a bad joke, I guess?

IIRC the original color for the ant was a two-color blend of trans-brown and some other color (dark red maybe?).

That's what I guessed as it's a similar approach for me.

Personally I find the likes of Sleeping Beauty's owl, the Coco dog, 101 Dalmatian, Camilla Gonzo's chicken etc too cartoony which is why I broached the licensed question. Technically they're non-Friends animals so I included them but if they're absent from my collection, I'm not too worried.

But the likes of Lucky the Pizza Dog, Sox, Hedwig, Crookshanks, Fawkes, Nagini, Mrs. Norris, Padfoot totally work for me, Wonder Dog a little less so and the Mohawk cat a hard no. But then that brings in to debate the kitten version, like a said a can of worms:

OyhL77V.jpg

Since you have the Spring Lantern Festival bunny on your list, I would also possibly consider the Monkie Kid Heavenly Realms dog.

And since this can of worms has now been pried so wide open, debatably, The Legend of Isla Nublar's Red is considered a different element from the dark orange dog in 60355. I can't check if bricklink considers them the same or if Lego just assigned them different part numbers.

Then there is the elusive light blue marbled glow in the dark octopus from 2008 in the Agents theme. Considering the cost in obtaining one, it might be preferable to leave it off the list and forget it exists :pir-murder:

Lastly, I previously considered the yellow and green ducks as rubber toys as that is what Lego primarily used the element for in sets but since a dark orange version was included in the 2023 Friends Botanical Garden in a pond, I at least consider that version to be an animal element.

Edit: killer penguins belong in a city don't they?

I love your list @cebelicamya !

A few I think should be added are - dark orange shepherd dog, GITD octopus, there’s also the Hidden Side sand blue shark with the green eye things, AND the great white shark comes in two variants with different heads (with and without eyebrows 😜). There are also magenta and GITD versions of the standard fish

Oh. Also bats 🦇🦇🦇

Broadly with you on where to draw the line. The penguins don’t work for me … but then I’m fine with the weird eye colours of the crocagators, and some dogs and cats…

And yet another one comes to mind… there was that Asian elephant with movable legs from long ago!

I mean - I would ‘retire’ that one, along with the old monkey, and stingray. Otherwise you need to include out of date versions of sharks, dolphins, sawfish, dogs, cats, rats, etc

I think the list is most useful with the up to date versions.

Are you saying the giant Belville dog doesn't count!! :pir-oh:

I'm disappointed the part doesn't exist in red - think of all the Clifford MOCs we might have had!

I really did open a can of worms with my list, diddn't I @rebelpilot LOL ! I think the best option is that I post existing list on google spreadsheet, where anyone can copy my list and add any animal of their choice.  As @ShoelaceAglet said, each user can decide where they draw the line. It would also be interesting to see, at least for me, a thread where everybody would post their own list they've created.

Edit: killer penguins belong in a city don't they?

I totally agree with you. I think we have the same criteria for collecting animals. Yes, the Mohawk cat a no for me too, as well as blue kitten. I should probably remove blue rabbit and thSpring Lantern Festival bunny on my list.

If I buy the elusive light blue marbled glow in the dark octopus from the Agents theme, then I will have to buy all the transparent ones that came in Harry Potter theme as Patronuses (cat, otter, stag, hare) and also the penguin that came from Lunar New Year Ice Festival set. I do own the transparent cat from HP, haha guilty, couldn't resist to buy it when it was available on Bricks and Pieces. Sometimes I don't stick to my own list.

OMG, my mind is blown, i always thought that the dark orange dogs are the same! Does anyone have them both and can compare them? Is only the dark orange color diferent shade or is also the printing different? I mean, on rendered 3d images it seems that the one from Jurassic Park has much darker dark orange color and the one from City set has a lighter dark orange color.

killer penguins belong in a city don't they? --> I think the eyes are to creepy for a more "realistic" lego city, LOL.

Does Monkie Kid Heavenly Realms dog have eyes at all, can't realy see them from the picture?

@cebelicamya Shouldn't the sabertooth tiger be included there? And how about the mammoth?

Or perhaps a separate list for prehistoric animals?

Well, sabertooth tiger doesn't fit in my lego city, so i will probably not include it on my list. But wait..., if I think about it, it might fit really well into my city when I buy the natural history museum modular. Omg, I am spending too much money on Lego.

A list for prehistoric animals is a good idea. Anyone who has seen my other thread with hair pieces list, knows I looove making lists, LOL

I agree with you @williejm. I should delete the old monkey, stingray etc... and just leave newer moulds of each animal.

Noooo…. There are real ‘blue bunnies’ though not as blue as those!!!

I think the blue bunny is fine, i think it’s just Lego being more colourful with their variants no represents the sort of ‘blue’ variant you get of animals like cats, dogs and rabbits

Are you taking about the husky? I believe they are listed on the same post on BL, but can not check now, probably a render error or?

I just happen to own all those Patronuses and the penguin, not because I think they fit with the city animals but I just happen to have the associated Harry Potter sets and the penguin was on B@P

o2Q6C0t.png

They should be the same dark orange, the lighting is different is these photos.

I only have Red from the 75935 Baryonyx Face-Off dog but I consider them the same. It might be a case of the Jurassic World set being out of production by the time the Missions set went in to production so Lego gave it a different element number for internal reasons.

There's quite a few examples, this and this is one that comes to mind. Bricklink often categorises them as the same regardless of Lego's numbering.

New Elementary have a photo, it's not the best angle but I can see pupils.

Have you got a picture of the other side of the 75935 one? The bottom one has a little black flash on his tail and I can't see from the photo whether the top one does too.
