If its defined as "Jungle" its not going to be Australian since we have no jungles here. It would almost certainly be Amazon Jungle, Congo Jungle or South East Asian as those are the 3 main parts of the world that are generally thought of as "jungles".

If they go to Asia, they could bring back the tiger (and maybe the leopard), bring back the bear (mold used as a polar bear in 2023), new bear cub (re-color of polar bear cub), Asian Elephant (maybe new head on existing body), bring back the large snake and bring back the monkey from the Wildlife Rescue theme (new color maybe?). For new molds they could do a Komodo Dragon or Orangutan.

If they go to the Amazon, they have the big snake (recolored as an Anaconda), the Toucan, the frog (in various colors), the big cat (recolored as a Jaguar), the bald eagle (recolored as an Andean Condor maybe) , spiders, the monkey (again possible new color) and the parrot (in some sort of bright color). For new molds they could do a sloth, maybe a Piranha (definitely one of the animals that comes to mind when I think of the Amazon Jungle), and maybe a Llama or Alpaca. Oh yeah that Blue Morpho butterfly could return as well, that's another animal that fits that part of the world.

If they go to the Congo, there are so many animals they could do. Gorilla. Chimpanzee. Cheetah. Hippo. Rhino. Antelope. Zebra. Giraffe. Hyena. Or at the smaller end things like wild dogs, meerkats or warthogs.

#1 wish for African Jungle would be a gorilla followed by a hippo. #1 wish for Asian Jungle would be an Komodo Dragon or an Orangutan. #1 wish for Amazon Jungle would be a Piranha.

Hard to guess new animals before we know what jungle they are going to, but a big cat with cubs in a new color seems likely to me. :sweet:

Definitely! I'll be shocked if we don't get big cats with their cubs in some variation. I'd also be willing to put money on new butterfly prints, either in City or the Friends sets.

Capybara is my guess for a new animal. It seems to be the new trendy "cute" creature, and the mold would be smaller to make.

My most wanted ones? Tigers again (that old one is super expensive), with new cubs.

Wildcard picks: anteater, aardvark, or Asian elephant, depending on the continent.

Like the Capybara idea, think it’s also like sloths in being culturally cute and popular

Would also be ideal for further Encanto sets

I hope they do some kind of lizard. Or a colorful bird like a parrot but with wings spread like the owls have.

I'll be excited to see any new ones, though

Fair. Reptiles are underrrepresented in Lego World, and the parrot needs an upgrade

I think most likely it will be either Asia or South America. For both we have some moulds existing, where they just need to recolour and both still have enough new moulds. If they do Asia, I am curious if they make a new head mould for the elephants.

Sorry I don't get the obsession with capybaras, they just looks like a big pig variant to me.  Much rather get some big cats, deer/antelope variants and some colorful new bird molds, maybe a gorilla and a Zebra.  But I could do without the snakes and other slithery creatures.

The old scorpion mould could use one too

I hear ya. It does languish beside the new spider and the lobster, but it does have its charms …

Parrot, fish, and crab are all in desperate need of an update, to my mind. They are all used frequently and look poor compared to the modern design aesthetic. Scorpion is similar, but not used as frequently.

The parrot, to me, is the worst, because it used to be better when it was printed, compared to the dual molded swirls today.

At least the parrot has swirls!

That red crab, without any special print, is himself Sebastian! LOL

The original was the best in terms of colours, but think the updated mould is better however not the dual moulding. My guess to way they do not update some of the small moulds is because they want some small cheap animals to put in sets, a parrot updated to the toucan standard would cost a lot more. On the other hand they did update the spider without adding printing and the butterfly they have a cheap unprinted one and more expensive printed ones:shrug_oh_well:

The last jungle wave was before City started focusing on animals so there are really not many there at all, they basically gave us the big cat mould and made the most of it by making 3 different ones  Compare this two sets to see what I mean

That's just so embarrassing. I couldn't quite believe it when I saw it in that set.

True, but it doesn't stop it being frustrating to have different styles between the animals in current sets. Although I'd forgive them for leaving the frog as is, given how versatile a piece it is.

This is what excites me about the upcoming wave! City really only started going all in on the animals a few years ago, and based on the 2021/2023 subthemes, I expect we'll get a ton of diversity in the new sets :)

I would LOVE to get a giraffe (we got awfully close this last year when a giraffe appeared in a Friends set).

I'd also love for them to update the parrot mold. I associate the old one (the one that was often printed) with a lot of LEGO's best "retro" themes: Castle (where it was unprinted and grey), Pirates, Islanders, etc.

I feel like a South American setting for these new sets makes the most sense, given the fact that we recently had a City subtheme that focused on African animals.

Regardless, I am excited to see what the designers come up with!

Thank you very much for the information! :classic:

Again Jungle in the City theme means that we likely will get back some bigger animals (tiger, panther, ...) and only will get some new small animals. Instead, I would have prefered to get Savannah back in order to get new huge animals like giraffe, rhino or zebra. So I fear that 2024 will be a lame year which concerns new (big) animal moulds. :sadnew:

I'm hoping the hermit crab eventually ends up on PAB at some point.  It will be interesting to see what the jungle city sets bring.  I hope there will be some new molds like a water buffalo, baboon, gorilla, different monkey mold like a tamarin, different birds like a stork or heron, any type of gazelle or antelope, maybe a rhino or hippo.  A giraffe would be cool too.  Different fish molds need to be done also the crab does need an update.

I would not be surprised if there are a new bigger animal or two as well, but we will see :)

Gorilla and giraffe are CMF costume that have yet to be made into an actual Lego system animals! At least we have the cow for the CNY ox minifig.
