hikouki Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I wonder how many color variants they will make of the goat? I can't imagine the Medieval village to have all-white goats. Quote

I can't imagine the Medieval village to have all-white goats. The sky is the limit now No for sure the MTS will have at least one new color and or print. My guess is that it would include at least 2 goats, could be the same, or one new juvenile goat or even two different adults. Whatever it has it would be practical to know that before everybody goes crazy for the CMF one and drives up the price Quote

Yeah but I am pretty sure that isn´t what hikouki meant. While surley they can and will add animals in advents Calendar in the future, an animal calendar with one animal every day (or even only every second) is more than just unlikely to happen. Additionally, it seems to me like more than 5 Advents Calendar seem pretty unlikely to happen anyways, since most people would buy one, not several (for their kids at least). That beein said, with the Goat apearing next year in two sets, I wouldn´t wonder of they also include it in the advents calendar. Quote

I know but he just said “brick-built” animals so I just pointed him out that there were a few aniamls included in City advent calendar. We had a foal in CMF last year. Later on, we had a white foal in advent calendar. This year, we have brick-built reindeer from City adent calendar. Quote

Perhaps they might put an animal or two in every calendar for a year? Quote
lifeinplastic Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Lego would never be so generous as to give us a Wiltopia-style Advent calendar! Quote

That would be cool, but TLG would realistically only make a few new moulds for one and have recolored animals use up most of it Quote

TeriXeri Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) 16 minutes ago, lifeinplastic said: Exactly. Strange that Playmobil can do it though! Yes but playmobil has been selling packs full of animals for decades now, I mean, tons of Safari, Zoo, Circus sets, and standalone animals like lion families have been released many times in a row. Probably cheaper for them, as they aren't bound to strict Stud sizes and clutch power etc. And then I look at Pick a Brick animal price for LEGO, I remember when it just started out, horses were listed at like €7-9 each, now it went down some, but still, and then the more one-of-a-kind, large animals like Orca going for more then what an entire Playmobil Orca set would cost back then (I had the playmobil Orca back in the day, it would float in water) Of course LEGO can do a calendar with just small , less complex animals, but then I think they'd kinda run out of variation quickly if they try to keep prints as simple as possible, and reusing the common animals already in production would also be kinda meh (like at one point, LEGO husky showed up everywhere, even in CMF long after it was already in many other sets) Friends Play Cubes certainly showed LEGO can do many colors of animals at the same time (altho random and thus quite annoying to collect), and even for 2024, there are multiple different hamsters, or small animals in some Friends sets that aren't crazy high cost, but likely are mass produced as they are regular small/mid cost sets. lifeinplastic Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Yes - Playmobil have been much further ahead of the game than Lego when it comes to animals for decades! Quote
Accio Lego Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 Proper (Friends style) Capybara spotted in one of the new Encanto sets! It bothered me so much that the storybook style set from when the movie first released just used the Friends hamster mold to represent a capybara so it’s lovely to see a proper one. It’s in 43239 - the Maribel photo frame and keepsake box. With Friends apparently being roped in to the summer jungle explorer subtheme in the same style as the current Space sets, we’ll probably see this new mold getting used there too. Quote
