Latest news about Lego animal moulds

Unfortunately most of the animals from HP like the owls are licensed so they will not show up in PAB
However the smowl from Friends should be there in time

Probably because of a pricing error in the listing.

That’s what I asked earlier. It’s real shame that small owls are not available. But I hope they. Will be reused in City.

That’s the same price as the horse for something which uses much less plastic, which is annoying. Sheep are dual-molded and they cost £1.50!

I am really hoping that the goat's price is just to prevent a massive initial run on the part by army-builders and resellers, and that it goes down over the coming months! 😬

It might go down some, because I and a lot of other people are sending polite mails to Lego saying this is not OK. However I am pretty sure it will not go down to the price of the sheep where it belong

Unironically we should get MandR to rage about it - His urging got us the 501st battle pack and (most likely) Jedi Bob's starfighter!

I can not stand him and believe I have only ever watched one of his YouTube videos and that was enough for me. Even If he claims to take credit for those things it is not necessarily his merit that those sets came out. However the best weapon against an enemy is another enemy so if he can help by all means release the hounds

Yeah, but you are an animal collector, right? So since all animals lately got pretty expensive, it will be the same. The high prices of single animals might not affect you that much but if you buy 50 different animals twice each for instance it is basically the same as someone else buying 100 goats. 

I certainly do like Lego animals but some are just so insanely expensive, that while I would like to have them, won´t buy them still. The lions were already expensive but if we consider that they are made from several parts and are quite big, their price was still ok for me - and compared to the Elephants they were still quite cheap for instance - sure they were bigger and a higher price was expectable. but still they were pretty expensive. And the more new animals we are getting lately the more expensive they seem to get.

Agree with all of this. I do also think, as @Roebuck said, that it’s a deliberate attempt to stop a massive rush *and* encourage folks to buy the sets instead. £5 for a goat is madness when one just came as an accessory to a £3.50 CMF! And three sheep being cheaper than one goat? 😵‍💫

If we want to get a set for that gray goat, it’s $200 MedievalTown Square set.  I’m not encouraged to by that for some reasons. 

I only have one white goat from CMF and I would like to get two gray ones…. 

I am not a crazy animal collector! I only bought one lion, one lion ness, two lion cubs, one African eagle, one African python, one elephant, one elephant calf, three sheep, one orca, two seals, two baby seals, to polar bears, should I keep going on? Anyways…But I agree with Black Falcon that over some of aniamls are expnsive. 

I really like the $10 sets like the city sets that have Sears and baby seal, otters, and monkey.  But not the expnsive sets.

I wonder if Lego will ever make a goat in another color, or even one with a patterned hide. For the latter, I am guessing they might be protecting the value of the previous goat.

Likely not as long as the grey one is around, but once it is retired I would guess for a brown one next - likely not right after the retirement of the grey one though.

Depends on what themes that show up, if we get a City farm, JP T-rex set etc it is probably there. I also expect they will make a goat kid mould one day. If not before they will definitely include it before the 5 year deadline so they do not end up with the same issue as last time

I dn’t agree with you on that. There are some recolored aniamls out there.

That would be great to ahve a goat in another theme.  A kid would be perfect. It’s pretty shame that there is no Farming subtheme for some years. But one farm set in City will do better than a whole subtheme in City.  Or even CMF

Well it is not impossible, sure, best example IMO are the Lions in City, which came in two colours in their sets. But in the end it is more likely they would just use the existing one for budget reasons, especially since they likely would also want to make to goat avaiable in a cheaper set. In the end the goat isn´t an animal that would be included in as many sets as dogs, cats, horses or birds.

Lion with maned are not seen again since 2021, even tho the current Jungle subtheme is mix of Asian and African settings, sure.Goas can be seen in African or Asian village settings. I  think goat could be recolored such as brown, white with black spots, light gray just like dogs, cats, butterflies, rabbits. Unlike lions, monkeys and elepants, goats can be seen outside African settings, such as farm, petting zoo, festival (I have seen goat and llama for petting at festival events). I think a goat in new color could show up in a City set rather than subtheme.  A green sea turtle showed up in CMF. Series 20 then it took a few years to recolor the same mold as a different speices in a lifeguard post in City.

I do not disagree. Although I would like to point out that perhaps amongst all their animal moulds, this piece is the one that has had so much anticipation and publicity around it.
