DarrellBricker Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I think that petty much answers the question right there, sadly ... Quote

Well, we got the pig not that long ago, though that one wasn´t recoloured or dualmoulded. So I wouldn´t rule it out completely, though it feels like the internal price seems to high for them to include it. 14 hours ago, hikouki said: I do not disagree. Although I would like to point out that perhaps amongst all their animal moulds, this piece is the one that has had so much anticipation and publicity around it. Yeah, but we also already got the goat in two different colours, so a third seems kinda unlikely to me for now. Zoo seems to be an topic Lego doesn´t want to make at least in City (I think there were Duplo Sets) and instead rather do wildlife Sets, which is a topic I don´t really see the goat appearing in, since they would probably concentrate on animals we don´t have at home. We also just had the farm theme, so would be surprised if they would make that one again already next year. Of course it could also always appear in an IP-Set, though none comes to mind right now that I would think they would do next year. Right now Advents calendar would be the Set I would give the best chances to, but you never know what they will do anyways, so guess we will have to see. Quote

I have no idea why you think it’s unlikely for goat to be recolored. I feel goats in two colors don’t mean anything what you said but only your opinion. Maybe not new color for goat for this year, maybe it will happen in 2025 or 2026 - I think City waves are done for 2024 and ethe are a few sets for 2025 at the moment. As you said before in your previous post here, it’s not impossible. As I said before it would be best to have a farm set instead of a subtheme in City. I mean the farming subtheme was only a few years ago so it’s unlikely (it’s my opinion :) ). Lego is always unpredictable, don’t you think? Quote

The goat isn't dual-moulded though, is it, just painted? They've also had various dogs in BAM that are a similar size. But yes, they may decide it's too valuable to put in there. Good call on the advent calendar. I wonder if they'd do a special festive print on it though? Might be quite good fun! Quote

Lion King Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Not sure if goat will show in the 2024 advent calendar - we know there will be a family with a dog (all of them dress up in festive sweaters) with Mrs. Claus in it. But I think a Yule goat sounds fun! Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 8 hours ago, RichardGoring said: The goat isn't dual-moulded though, is it, just painted? Indeed it is just decorated, not dual moulded. As an aside, without hard data, but I feel like I've noticed that elements with "complex printing" like the goat are some of the most expensive on PaB. For instance dual moulded legs even with print on the front have come down in price, but legs printed on the side are incredibly expensive comparatively. Or Mr Tang's hat from 80045, which is decorated and not dual moulded - far more expensive than most dual moulded hat-hair combos. If they'd gone and redesigned the goat to have a separate plastic injection for the horns (which would've made a lot of sense), I bet it would've been cheaper for us ultimately. The decorated horns require a specially set up machine to get that print applied, and is more time consuming and hence costly than dual moulding. Quote
RichardGoring Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 (edited) That's a good point on complex decorations. I wonder why they chose to do it for the goat instead of dual moulding. It must, ultimately, be less expensive for them, but it may be facility availability that counts towards cost too, and maybe that's where it flips. Edited July 9, 2024 by RichardGoring Quote
jonwil Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I hope the gorillas make it to PaB (bought the set that contains them yesterday and they are amazing looking) although I suspect that if/when they do they will cost a lot (especially since you would have to buy the left and right arms separately) Quote

Sine elephant is similiar o that gorilla - elephant has seperate parts - boy, head, and trunk. If I remember, Lego customer serie said head and body were sold Togetehr in one order in 2021? Quote
hikouki Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I could not find the goat anymore on PAB. Sold out? Perhaps it may show up eventually on the bestseller list? They really should think about offering it in another color. Quote
Black Falcon Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Sold out for days actually. You can let PAB show pieces that are not avaiable right now, then you will still see her. Quote
hikouki Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 (edited) Looks like the DnD CMF will net us a recolored rat, bird, and puppy, plus a new mini dragon. Edited July 19, 2024 by hikouki Quote

Technically, we already knew that, but given the unprecedented way the original leak came a few months back it is nice to get things confirmed. Quote

If you assume the eyes are literally red-colored or literally glowing red, yeah, that pretty much ensures you're dealing with a villainous monster-rat of some kind. But you could also read it as eye-shine, which any ordinary rat in a dark place with light shining on it would display. Quote
Lion King Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 I think that rat comes in handy for Halloween. Quote
Lyichir Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Yeah, a black rat with red eyes isn't particularly realistic (red eyes are more common in white rats due to albinism), but it'd still be plenty suitable for any use where you're using it mostly to establish a creepy atmosphere (which is how a lot of rats, bats, and spiders are used in your typical Lego build anyway). Quote
Lion King Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Speaking of albinism, are there any alinio animals since we have even lion and its cub in 2021? Quote

White lions are actually a result of Leucism - a different genetic mutation. Hence the white Lion male and cub from a couple of years ago still having black eyes. So we’ve technically never had any proper albino animals. Which is kind of silly because albino rats and rabbits are fairly common pets and it would be ridiculously easy to do either one in a City set. Quote

It would, since the rabbit is already moulded in white, but I think that it would end up looking a bit demonic in LEGO form! Now where did I put that Holy Hand Grenade?. . . 🤔 Quote

Lego is supposed to have that kind of flexibility. Quote
