lifeinplastic Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 (edited) Looks like the husky will make an appearance in the paper pack attached to November’s City magazine. Perhaps a sign it will also be included in the Shackleton set? I tried to find which dog species he used in the expedition and although he used various species and cross breeds, I think this would be a suitable choice. Hope we get penguins too 🐧 🐧 🐧 Won’t be long before the Jan City wave is revealed too. Fingers crossed the Lego Animal department is generous. I love the Botanical Garden so keen to build a park so I’d really like a swan 🦢 Edited October 24, 2024 by lifeinplastic Quote

Would be nice to get a penguin variant somehow. Bagsy a rockhopper! The random-animals-introduced-via-City are so hard to predict. So many still so overdue. I’d be fine with a swan, duck or something else ‘freshwater’-y though Quote
Lion King Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I think wolf from Series 27 is little larger than nomral dogs, just slightly above a minifigure’s wris. It’s also wider than standard dog mold? Quote

RichardGoring Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Looks like the small red bird is coming to BAM for Christmas. Good if you want to try and collect a flock of them. Quote

If it's meant to represent a cardinal, I wish they would produce a new mold with the crest (which could also be used for blue jays, waxwings, and other small crested birds), but I'll take what we can get. karrit Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 (edited) Not an impressive mix. Nice to get the red bird but and the girl's sweater might be nice though you can't see the whole print on it. The brick suit guy even though green isn't what I'm looking for in a holiday minifig. I certainly don't need anymore Santa's but I'm sure the kid's will like them. I do like the package tile they show with him. I'm still waiting for them to release the elf hat with braids in another color or two so there's a missed opportunity as well and I'd really like some red elf torsos. Klaus-Dieter Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 (edited) Gorilla and gorilla baby look good, as well as the new tiger. The red panda isn't my cup of coffee. But what I'm really disappointed about is that Lego missed the chance to give us a tiger baby. Edited October 28, 2024 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 New Elementary is reporting that the sheep is retiring from Pick a Brick at the end of the month - but I find that odd, since there's going to be a tractor and sheep set coming in January. Does that mean we're getting a new mold, or new color, for that sheep? Or maybe the sheep will be brick built? Quote

Parts go out of PaB all the time, only to almost immediately show up again with a slightly different number or something. Quote
karrit Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 (edited) Yes, there were a bunch of new parts added over the last few months that have always shown out of stock that are basically duplicates of currently available parts just with different part numbers. Some of the parts are now on the retirement list. I haven't taken the time to see if they are the newer numbers or the older ones. Some of the retiring ones are fairly new parts in colors that are basic so it's weird that they are being retired while others are being kept. This is why I don't wait in hope that parts I'm interested in will become "bestsellers". I would have totally missed out on the black squirrel & black retriever and now the new colors of the geode had I waited. Edited October 29, 2024 by karrit Quote

I´m actually surprised that it still was around, since we didn´t see it in any Set this year IMO and the last set it was included retired last year. Anyways, since many sets will retire towards the end of the year, many parts will retire too and they already made a list last year for them. That doesn´t mean of course that there still can be one included that will reappear with a new number. But it actually would be a good opertunity to make a brown sheep next year, so I hope we will get that instead. Quote

First of all the site that reported 2 sheep and a 1 cow had some issues with fake leaks so take that with a lot of salt If it is true it most definitely will not be brick-built, it is a City 4+ set after all As others have mentioned it can be just a new part number for the same sheep or something new is also possible, we probably know soon Quote
Roebuck Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 One of the coming Monkey King set has a black dog, though think it is the normal mould with some funket print, but not sure There is also a new dumpling part that I saw one suggested looked like a Portuguese man o' war Quote

williejm Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 A bit of an aside, but it’s animal related, I promise! I wanted to share a nice story: Today called Lego customer service, to check on my existing two orders for animal parts that are still showing as ‘in warehouse’. They are for the Gorilla parts, and the order is in two parts because the bodies became unavailable as I was placing the order, so I ended up with two orders, three weeks apart, for ‘just arms’ and ‘just bodies’. Anyways, I called to check on the likely timescale of delivery, as I was worried they would arrive too late for their intended use - Lego advent calendars for my nephews, which I have put together for the past few years. The customer service rep was lovely, and very interested in the Lego advent, but told me that the timings had actually been pushed back for orders, and that it was likely that things wouldn’t arrive until ‘40 working days’ after order, and that the warehouse had been closed down for a week which explained the extra delay. In all likelihood that means I’m going to have to source the gorillas via eBay or Bricklink - as that will be after Christmas. But I was told that there should be some better info next week once the warehouse is operating normally again. Long story short - I don’t know when my gorilla parts will arrive yet! Anyways, a short while later I got an email from the customer service rep, saying she really enjoyed talking to me, was excited about the Lego animal advent calendar, and didn’t want my nephews to run out of animals to build … and that as a gift from Lego she was sending two building sets for my nephews (it’s two of the little “Lego creative monsters sets (11017)”! How nice is that?! Lego customer service is a nice thing in a world where we don’t seem to get a lot of nice things some days. ❤️💛💚💙 Quote
