My "dream" animal for TLG to tackle is a giraffe. I don't think it's super likely--but then again we did get a full sized elephant this last year. So . . . maybe???

And we have full-size dinosaurs (Tyrannsoaurs, Triceratops and Carnotaurus) - I consider them as extinct animals.

So we will see about giraffe :)

By the way, it’s not this “last” year. It’s THIS year.

Trying to imagine an Australian Aborigine in Lego yellow gives me the fear…

I do agree that an ‘outback’ setting would make for some fun sets. Have suggested before something like ‘Outback Rescue’ or ‘Outback Vets’. Could make use of the normal array of vehicles, some scenery builds, and some existing animals (snake, parrot, crocagators) and would only need a couple of new animal moulds (🦘🐨) to make it work.

Seconded. And throw Steve Irwin in it as well.

I do think the new toucan makes the existing parrot seem pretty primitive by comparison. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a new ‘normal’ parrot update in the near future using dual moulding and printed eyes.

Ya that toucan piece looks amazing and hopefully Lego decides to give us an updated parrot, because the one we have is a bit too outdated

I wish the sizes were a bit more consistent

The series 15 skunk is gigantic

I know sometimes is hard to keep the proportions because of the "system" system but still

There's certain animals like that that'd be very hard to have exist in any reasonable scale with minifigures (other than maybe as a print on a tile or something). I think with those (and others like the spider) there's also an element of the design where the point of them in a many sets is to be scary or creepy—so having them bigger than they would be in reality doesn't really hurt that appeal in many cases. Arguably that's sort of the case for the skunk too—I think if it'd been smaller it wouldn't have necessarily have felt like as much of a challenge for the animal handler it came with to catch.

To be honest, I’m fine with the variations in scale. It’s hardly as if minifigures themselves are in proportion

Yea me to, I’m happy with the scale of all the animals we have, however if I had a choice I would want the chameleon to be a bit bigger as it’s very small compared to the bats and spiders, and the new stingray is gigantic and could be a bit smaller 😅

I mean - you *do* get very tiny Pygmy chameleons, and you get very large sting rays … so, y’know …

Try murder hornets…it’s nasty than giant killer bees.  They are killing honeybees.

To echo Williejm, it’s best to use bubmbleee girl. :)

I use my cmf human eh minifig fly for that, so i might use the bee girl as well! Y’all right!

Getting a bit OT but I modded the CMF ladybird girl to make it into a ladybird insectoid:

Where is that trident from?

The mermaid’s? It’s BrickForge. Apologies if I gave the impression it was purist. It isn’t.

Ow that looks actually quite cool! I need to look for a ladybuggirl as well then

Not the first time I’ve used LEGO’s cutesy parts to MOC something more sinister. Getting far OT but my carnivorous plant minifigures for examples.

Back to animals properly, and this isn’t news, but wanted to share the Lego animal advent calendar I’ve done for my nephews this year. Yes, I’m a pusher.

You’re a better Uncle than me, that’s for sure @williejm!

Glad the next CNF series will contain the toucan but the foal certainly opens up possibilities for more baby animal moulds - which do you think are most likely (and which non-baby animals)?

P.S. Question is for all, not just generous Uncle Willie!

A calf if we ever get a new farm subtheme :sceptic: The lion cubs will probably come in different colors as other species if we get a set where they can fit in..
I am still waiting for a flock of pigeons for my modular street :hmpf:
