How about an abomination category, with 3th party electronics (receiver, motor and servo included)?

Besides the fact there are already too much categories suggested, this will just be a contest of who buys or has the best RC components and will have nothing to with Lego speed anymore, let's save this category for when we do a flying Lego contest?

No, there's no point in such a category on a Lego forum. The challenge consists I'm building a Lego vehicle that can go fast, not building a bodywork. You can suggest such idea on a RC forum, let's leave Lego Technic contests "clean"

Ok, I may need some help. I am looking for a two speed gearbox that has the ratios 1:1 and 3:1.

I have one, pm me.

Yes, when third party elements are suggested it always becomes trouble.

I suggest the rule should be this:

  • maximum 2 drive motors
  • only 1 battery box
  • SBrick and BuWizz only allowed in 3rd class (see below)
  • minimum 15 x 30 stud size (or similar)

That is good, but whoever makes the contest should make the final decision. Whoever that is :look:.

No, I think that would get out of hand .

Agreed, I guess it would be @Zero (Zblj) - he started this .

@Aventador2004 you would have to count me in, in this aswell! :) As is like this idea very very much.

I will see what rules I will make it I do, but If I arrange this, can I participate? . I would like to make a car in a competition. @Zero (Zblj) could help me set it up, he thought of this idea.

I still want to build the car my self :) But I think we need to define a waterproof set of rules. It must be easy to understand and clear to follow. Other then that: Whats not forbidden is allowed

I would make clear unchangeable rules, and a 4 week deadline. If I make a car, I might not enter it, just a pace car for all. And we could have a impartial member died decide whether or not something is allowed.

How does that sound?

One more.

8183, 8184's RC chassis is also PF line. Can use that?

That would be cheating IMO. Then it would also be very small and not real technic engineering.

but I don't have any prizes

Wouldn't the prize just be winning the competition? because then you could enter it.

Also, I think the best (and fairest) way to decide the rules would be to make a poll with all the suggested rules, and let members pick the rules that they want.

Make sure to tell us once you have started the poll :classic:, and I think it should be open for a week.

Also add options for classes too!

Th only tires that work with my model so far are the Williams F1s. Will those be allowed?

I think all tires should be allowed - they are all made of the same stuff!

As others have mentioned Formula-E works because of the limitations. why not limit the cars to being built from the parts list for 24h racer - 42039 (allowing for colour and wheel substitution as this will be the less common).

With a limited brick count the motor/battery choice is moot as there are only 28 gears available.

That would give 2 classes purist (power functions, train, Mindstorms) and 3rd party power source/control.

Sounds interesting, I think that you should not be able to use LiPo's though, they give you a huge advantage to people that can't afford them-don't have any.

I don't like motor limiting except no Buggy motor's

Definitely no Buwizz, Sbrick would be ok because it keeps the same voltage.
